Chapter 54: Mrs. Taylor's Visit

Amelia's POV

Williams was sleeping beside me, I couldn't sleep, my thoughts keep pressing back to what he had done earlier. Williamsport all of these for me? And even give me a promise ring. This is more serious than I thought.

But come to think of it, his mom doesn't like me, was this ever going to work out? I really love this guy, but Cindy is there waiting for him to come and put a ring on your finger. Will you lose the company because he wants to be with me? Oh no, I'm so confused.

I tried all I could to sleep but it won't come. Or should I go and beg Cindy to leave my man for me? I don't really know what I was thinking but I just think I needed to do something.

I just needed to do something to prove to everybody that I love this guy. No one has ever shown me love the way he did. He was just so different, leaving that wayward life in my past was the best decision I ever took.

Then, I thought about Dorian again. It's been weeks and I noticed Dorian didn't call or bother me with text messages. Does it mean he has given up? Dorian and said he was going to do everything to be with me? I wondered why all these men of my past keep coming back to my thoughts. Dorian was the last person I wanted to see, the toads that I had slept with my home room teacher while I was young still hurts me. I also noticed there was something off about Dorian, the way he looked at me on the day of William's father's death. I don't know how to put this but it was just so suspicious.

I tried to put that aside. Just then, Williams woke up.

“Nah, don't tell me you're still awake."

" I'm still very much awake.” I said.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" He asked,

He then looked at me for a while, “Don't lie to me, what are you thinking about?"

"I don't know Williams, just everything.” I muttered.

“Didn't I tell you to trust me? I see you don't trust me, if you do you will shut those eyes close and sleep."

"Come on, I was trying so hard to sleep but I couldn't.”

Williams wrapped his hands around me, he then cuddled me to sleep. I felt relieved, his gentle touch and warmth was able to chase away my fears. My breath lulls me into a very peaceful sleep.

A noise woke us up the next morning. I didn't sleep on time so I wanted to sleep more.

“Who's that? No one knows we're here right?" I asked.

The person kept knocking, when whoever it was, noticed there was no response, she then pressed the doorbell, non stop, which caused lots of noise.

" Who the fuck is that?” Williams spat.

" You should just go and check to see who it is.” I said.

Just after Williams had gone to open the door, I had a faint noise, I only wondered who that was. To my surprise I heard Williams mothers voice. What the fuck is she doing here? Did Erica tell her about his place?

“Mom, who told you I was living here now? I guess Erica snitched.”

“Who is here with you? I'm sure you're not here alone." She said,

Why was she here to pay us a visit?

She then walked into the bedroom.

“Should at least give me some privacy mother, you can't just barge into my room.” Williams spat.

But she didn't care to listen to what William was saying. Her presence commanded some attention.

“I was right, Amelia…you're here?” She said, while her voice dropped with disdain.

I wrapped the sheet around my chest, “Good morning ma."

“Why are you here?" Williams asked in a polite tone.

" I'm not here to do anything much, I'm just here to confirm something. Are you really going to throw away your future because of this girl? I pity you.” Mrs Taylor said, while she gestured to me, her eyes flashing with anger.

I watched Williams' eyes blaze with determination. “Don't you listen? I told you before, this is my decision. She's the one I want to be with, I don't care if you accept it or not.”

“Mark my words, you're going to regret this decision you're taking, and as for you Amelia, I advise you to stay away from him.” Mrs Taylor said, her face turning red in rage.

I could feel a chill, as soon as she stormed out of the apartment. I was scared but Williams walked towards me, he held me close and reassured me.

“I'm here for you, I'm not leaving you for no damn reason."

From the start I already knew this love was doomed.

I knew William's mother was ruthless but I had no idea she was going to go this far.

“My mother will do anything possible, should you do all she can't get under our skin. We should be ready for that.” He said, pulling me close.

“I'm scared, the company, what if being with me is a mistake?" She said, unconvinced.

" And that's the reason I'm here with you, and I'm glad we are living together now.” He said, assuring me.

Williams' phone buzzed. I saw the name clear and bold, it was Cindy calling, he didn't pick immediately.

“Why are you doing this to us? I won't let you lose your company to your step brother because of Amelia." She purred.

I fixed my gaze on him, he noticed that.

“She won't give up." I muttered.

"Don't worry about Cindy, she's not my problem right now.” He said.

“I'll be right back." Williams said, walking into the washroom.

I quickly took his phone from the couch. He had left Cindy's message without responding, I was going to help him do that.

Let's meet by six in the evening, at a hillstone restaurant, I'm sure you would love that.

“Sure." She replied.

I quickly deleted the message I had sent and placed the phone back on the couch after sending that.

“Hey, what took you too long, are you okay?" I asked Williams, as he walked out of the washroom.

“Yeah, I'm fine…I should prepare breakfast for us.” He said.

"Nah  I was going to do that now. Don't tell me to sit back this time.”

“You're sure? I wasn't complaining about doing all of that? I enjoy doing that for you."

Williams sat on the bed, watched me swing my waist as I walked out of the room.
