Chapter 55: Never Fading
Lucas POV
The thought that Amelia thought she could leave me and live peacefully.
I would have let her be but I hated that guy Williams.
The thoughts that she was with Williams was just so annoying. Annabelle slept over at my house, no doubt, I enjoyed her this time around. Having sex with her was better than having it with Amelia. She says words I want to hear.
I knew Annabelle wasn't Amelia but I love the way she played her part. I just love the way she strokes my ego. And the reason why things were easier with her was because there was no question and guilt, just control.
Her hair sprawled across my pillow as she slept beside me. But my mind was far from where I was, it was somewhere else. All I thought about was Amelia.
Does she think about me when she kisses him? I'm unsure if she really forgets everything we had. Does she also think about me when he touches her? All these thoughts were running in my mind.
While I tried to shove the image out of my head, clenched my jaw, I wasn't sure Amelia was gone out of my mind.
I thought that I should call and remind her how much I loved her, but I was already attached to her mother, so I had to let go.
I then picked up my clothes from the floor, packed them into the washing machine.
While I was still standing in front of the washing machine, I stared at the clothes which were still filled with the scent of Annabelle.
Then I went inside the room, brought out an old shirt I once wore when Amelia was still with me, the scent was different. I wanted to breathe her in with the shirt but I stopped. “Nah, I can't be weak, that was actually me showing how weak I am." I muttered.
I heard Annabelle's voice coming from the hallway, she was probably awake and I guess she was still dreaming and it's obviously about me. I knew how to keep people close to me but it makes me upset anytime I remember Amelia left me.
I then slammed the washing machine shut immediately.
I had never thought Amelia was going to move on with Williams. I wondered what had given her such a type of nerve. “What exactly does William have that I don't?” I tried to put that thought aside.
I held my phone tight, still convinced to call her. while I scrolled on the call list on my phone, with my hand hovering over her name. “Maybe I can just call her one more time.” I muttered.
I heard footsteps coming towards the washroom, I turned to see Amelia. “I’ve been calling your name, you didn’t respond.”
I didn’t respond.
she was putting on my shirt, her nipple pointed directly to my direction while her hair was a mess.
“You’re not saying anything, are you fine?” she asked.
“I’m good.” I said, nodding my head, nonstop.
“Are you thinking about her again?” She asked.
I sighed, “Don’t ask me that.”
What I liked about her is that she doesn’t care. She didn't argue with me about it or bother bringing it up again. The silence between us was palpable. “You should know this, I'm never gonna leave you. You deserve better.” She muttered.
The words she said pulled me back in, though I expected the words to soothe me. I wondered why she was comparing herself with Amelia. “You shouldn't compare yourself with her.” I snapped.
I watched her step back, the hurt in her eyes didn’t last long. She then turned and left without saying a word. I then took my phone out again, I was going to call Amelia without any hesitation. I watched my phone ring, hoping she would pick up. I called the first time, second time and still there was no response.
I decided to call again, she picked this time. “Why are you calling williams?” She asked with a calm voice.
I asked where she was but she didn’t respond.
“You sound happy that all of this is happening right?” I asked.
“Why don’t you stop this?”
“Yeah, I will, I just want you to know I got someone better than you, she’s good on bed and knows how to ride well on bed unlike you,”
“What? Did you call me to tell me all this trash?” she asked.
“Well, I’m glad you’ve accepted the fact that things were never gonna work out for us.”
“I decided to stop loving you, this was a decision i had to make on my own, you thought, replacing me was gonna hurt me? Nah, you were mistaken.”
Amelia laughed out loud over the phone. “Yet, you left your wife because of me, that was obviously because you enjoyed my company, don’t deny the fact that you wanted me around you all the time. Then I had no choice than to give you what you wanted, despite taking the risk that you were married. have you forgotten how you scream my name, Oh my gosh, you don’t remember?”
I was speechless. unsure of what to say.
“Don’t ever call my number again, you’re pushing me to get a restraining order.” She said, before the line went dead.
I threw the phone on the couch. “Fuck, i can’t believe she talked to me rudely. I was going to give up on her love life but what she had just done made me more upset.
“What's going on there?” Anabelle asked from the room.
She walked down the stairs when she noticed I wasn't giving her the response she wanted. “I should leave right? I can’t tolerate you thinking about Amelia When am right here.”
I knew she was right. It was so disrespectful for me to do that. “Don’t see it that way.”
She sighed. “What do we have for breakfast?”
“You can go on and fix breakfast for us in the kitchen.” I said.
“I thought you were going to do that for me.” Anabelle Said.
I watched her walk into the kitchen, I then picked up the remote from the table, switching on the television. To my surprise, Williams was on the news.
It has been said that he left home, he’s probably running away from the plans his family has to get married to Cindy. I read from the news headline.
“I see, that’s the reason he bought a house in Amelia’s neighbourhood and now he's living with her, hiding from the press.” I paused. “I think this is a chance for me to deal with williams.”
