Chapter 95 Let’s See How She Will Fare!
Chapter Ninety-Four
“What are you doing? What’s going on here?”
The employees huddled around the door jumped in fright when they heard that deep voice.
They turned towards Zach and almost completely shit their pants when they saw that it was Zach.
“The CEO’s assistant!”
“Oh shit, we are cooked. Let’s get out of here!”
“We are so sorry sir. We are so sorry!”
The next instant, they scurried away from his sight without actually answering Zach’s questions. Zach watched them leave and sighed in exasperation.
He walked towards the door, and peered into the office, as naturally as he could.
What he saw there shocked him.
Aria was actually sitting and working behind her desk, with her employees all around her in their respective desks, clacking away at their desktops.
She had a serene, calm and focused expression on her face as she worked. Zach frowned slightly, surprised that she was actually typing away quite well on her laptop.
Is she supposed to know how to do that?
“Wow, I had expected her to be getting ready to leave after being chewed out by Nathan,” he thought to himself, as he was very impressed, “But she’s still here, and settling in quite well.”
At that point, there was a ding on his phone. Soon, it was followed by series of dings that nearly blew up his phone.
“What the actual hell?” He muttered to himself, as he quietly slipped away from the door.
He saw that the messages alerts were coming from a group chat which the employees have, and which he was a part of.
The executive members were not allowed to be in these group chats because the employees did not know how they will take that in the workplace.
However, Zach had managed to get himself in there using an alias. He could not help it, he had to get the tea.
Zach opened one of the groups, and started reading the messages. After a few reads, he realized that they were talking about Aria.
“Did you see her?!”
“I heard she completely destroyed Director Nathan, and took over the department!”
“You heard wrong! You think our Director Nathan would not be able to stand against such a woman? She’s just a country bumpkin.”
“She does look good for a country bumpkin. I thought she was a model.”
“That’s what comes from being married into a wealthy home. An ugly duckling…no… a country bumpkin would definitely become a tomato. Hahaha!”
“Shut up! You all did not see her at the meeting today. Director Nathan could not hold up a candle to her!”
“Oh my god, are you serious?!”
“She was wild, demanding that we drop the Crown Avenue project and then go on to take the Nexus one. How stupid is that?!”
“Wait, the Crown Avenue project which the marketing department has worked so hard for months for? How could she not see that?”
“Do you think she has the intelligence for that? I told you she’s just a country bumpkin, why can’t you see that?”
“Yes! And Director Nathan refused to back down as well. He got the Crown Avenue project and dumped the Nexus one on her.”
“I can’t wait to see her face a few months from now when that project falls through. Haha! She will be thrown out.”
“You shut up, you know how foolish you sound rejoicing over something that has not happened? You shouldn’t count your eggs before they’re hatched, Layla!”
“I know what I’m saying. You all are the foolish ones staying back with her when you should have come with us to Director Nathan! Don’t regret your decisions later!”
“Wow this means those two power houses are going to be at logger heads during this period. I can’t wait to see who will win.”
“I’ve got my bet on Director Nathan.”
“No, I like the pretty team leader!”
“Let’s set up a poll!”
“Even better, let’s bet on it!”
Zach scoffed in disbelief as he continued to read the messages which were piling up more and more in the group chat.
“What are they all doing? Aren’t they supposed to be working?” He mused to himself as he continued scrolling through the chats.
These information was being quickly passed round across the other group chats for every other departments, which Zach was on as well.
He saw that they had already made a poll to see who would be the winner between Aria and Director Nathan when their project either works or fails.
“How jobless,” he muttered to himself as he turned back to the door, and looked at Aria once more, “You’ve actually caused a stir as soon as you arrived.” He grinned, “I can’t wait to see how this will end.”
He could also not wait to make this report to Lucian. The group chats had just made his work easier and he loved that.
He hurried back to Lucian’s office and told him all what was going on in the company currently.
Lucian had his eyes on a document which he was flipping through, but he was listening to every word which Zach was saying.
When he heard that Aria had dropped the project which the team had worked on, and had gone against Nathan to take an even less promising one, he paused in his reading.
“Oh really? She did that?”
“Yes man! I’m telling you!” Zach pounded very excited, “It’s like some kind of face down that’s going on right now, and all the employees want to know how it’s going to turn out!”
Lucian frowned, “Don’t they have work to do? Are we being too lenient on them?”
Zach rolled his eyes “Oh come on, you joy killer,” he grumbled, “We’ve not had this much excitement since the inception of the company. I think we need this sort of excitement from time to time. But wow…how could she do that on her first day?!”
Lucian was silent , musing in the matter.
Like Zach and the rest of the employees, he could not wait to see how Aria would fare.
