Chapter 94 Get A Report On Her!
Chapter Ninety-Three
The employee finished speaking and flipped her long brown hair behind her shoulders, glaring defiantly at Lana.
Nathan gave her a proud look but Aria only smiled, stepping forward to meet them.
“I think you are misunderstanding something here,” She uttered, “The chairman himself made me the head of the marketing department. Are you really willing to go against his wishes?!”
The employees started at the mention of the chairman. She cleared her throat nervously, then glanced at Nathan then back at Aria.
“Well, when you eventually fail in this project, the Chairman will make sure to throw you out of regret,” she said haltingly, then took a deep breath, “And he’s going to reward us who made the right decision and brought glory to the empire.”
Aria let out a snort of laughter, which soon turned into a full blown laughter.
“You’re really delusional,” she finally uttered, looking at the employees with dead eyes as her smile faded away.
She stepped back suddenly and pointed to the door, “Get out!”
Nathan did not say anything then. He just cleared his throat ominously then walked out of the with a swagger, followed by his six minions.
Aria looked back at the rest of the eight employees with her, “Well then let’s get back to work.” She uttered and the employees got to their feet at once, “I’m sure we can make do with this. If we need more people, we will get them. For now, let it be known that we are going for the Nexus project.”
“Oh really? She did that?”
Lucian sat in his office, flipping through some files on his desk while Zach stood in front of him, giving a report.
The report was on Aria and Lucian was pleased with what he was hearing. Throughout the morning, he was in his office fighting the urge to go down to the marketing department to see her.
Not really fighting.
Just giving into Zach’s hindrance.
“It’s been only half a morning,” Zach had complained, “Don’t you think she’ll be uncomfortable if you do this?!”
Lucian did not think so.
Infact, he was sure that Aria would be elated to see him in her office. He just wanted to see how she was faring and how she was settling down in her role.
It was not at all because he missed her, he assured Zach.
But the latter was not buying it.
“You will see her at lunch,” he ordered, “And you will request for her availability first. Is that okay?”
“What am I, a dumbass who cannot even figure that out?” Lucian shot back.
He had finally agreed to that, and all morning he’d been anxiously waiting for Aria’s call. He thought she would miss him just like he did but there was no call at all.
That placed him in a foul mood, and soon he was worried. He definitely expected Aria to call on him, perhaps for some assistance of some sort.
But it wasn’t forthcoming at all.
Does this mean she was settling down well or not?, he mused to himself, barely able to concentrate on his work.
Of course, there would be people to help her settle down. She’d have assistants as well as help from the other team mates.
But surely, she would know that he was the most important, right?
Zach find him extremely exasperating with this, and finally gave in to Lucian’s request to keep tabs on Aria just for that day.
“This is embarrassing,” he grumbled under his breath.
“Shut up. Just let me know how she’s doing as soon as possible and if she needs any help.”
“I thought you all gave her this position because you were sure she was extremely capable?” Zach paused at the door and asked, an amused smile on his face, “Thought she was going to wow you all with her business skills as she did with her medical skills, right?”
“Are you being sarcastic?”
“Nope, I was just saying, you know things will be difficult for her in the office because of where she is coming from,” Zach answered, “But you’ve got to trust her. If she hasn’t called for help, then maybe leave her alone.”
“Just get out and get me the report on her.” Lucian gritted through his teeth.
Zach shrugged, “Fine, but I’m sure she must be getting ready to leave,” he muttered, “The marketing department is no joke. And Nathan will be there.”
That was exactly why Lucian had been sitting around waiting for a call from her. He knew Nathan was also had some influence in the marketing team, and he was definitely going to cause trouble for her.
He knew that Aria would be able to hold her ground when standing against Nathan at home, but maybe not in the office?
He was worried as hell.
Zach took note of his worried expression and shook his head sadly as he went out the door. He’d seen enough to know that Lucian cannot refuse a request from Aria, but letting her come to the office and giving her such an important position was behind wild.
“How did she manage to convince the Chairman and the Madam, however?” He mused to himself as he walked down to the elevator, “She’s got grit, I must give her that. But I’m sure she’s regretting her decision now.”
Aria might be able to rule the roost at the Graves Mansion, and can pull off being the most adored daughter in law but here at the company, she would have realized quickly that she must learn how to survive by herself.
Or quit.
Zach was sure she was in the latter category as the elevator stopped right outside the marketing department.
He found a group of employees right outside the door, whispering amongst themselves as they took a peep through the door.
Frowning slightly in concern, he walked towards them.
Had anything happened in the office?
The employees did not even notice him coming up to them or his presence when he stood in their midst trying to see what they were looking at.
After trying and failing, he finally sighed and turned to the employees.
“What’s the meaning of this?”
