Chapter 110 She Made Me Do It!
Chapter One Hundred And Eight
“Argh!”
Selena screamed in terror as she backed away from the car, letting go of the man’s jacket at once as though she had grabbed a hold of sizzling, live wire.
“What the…what the hell is going on?!” She uttered as she stared in horror at the man in the car.
It was Lucian.
There were gasps of shock from the did and they fell back immediately as Lucian stepped down from the car, towering over everyone of them there.
His presence and aura immediately intimidated Selena who backed away, trembling in every area of her body.
“Miss Beaumont,” Lucian uttered, fixing Selena a very stern glare, “Is anything the matter? Why did you pull me out?”
Selena shook her head, her entire face pale, “I…I… I did not mean to,” she uttered in shaky voice, “Lucian Graves, why are you the one in the car?! What I were you doing in there?!”
Lucian arched an eyebrow at her question and Selena realized how stupid it must have sounded.
She stepped backwards once more, breathing raggedly.
“I own the car, Miss Beaumont,” Lucian replied coldly, “And I was with my wife in there.” He turned towards the car, where Aria sat, looking very clear headed and clear-eyed.
She lowered her head slightly so she could see Selena’s face fully, then gave her a cheeky grin.
Zach was no where to be found.
At that moment, Selena knew she’d been tricked. She’d fallen into the trap which she’d set up personally!
“Aria Beaumont, you bitch!” She thought to herself, almost in tears from fear now.
Lucian looked at her, his eyes as cold as the arctic, “Why do we need to report our activities to you, Miss Beaumont?” He uttered, then turned towards the camera crew which had been taking pictures nonstop ever since the car door was open, “You even brought the media with you. Why, can’t a man have some alone time with his wife?”
At those words, the camera crew promptly stopped taking pictures and they slowly put their cameras away.
They were displeased, as well as the crowd.
“What the hell is this? Did Selena Beaumont just accuse a married woman of cheating with her own husband?!”
“I can’t believe we fell for her act and came all the way here. What if the Graves Empire decides to punish us?!”
“This is the height of stupidity, Selena Beaumont! How can you do this to your own sister!”
“She’s just having a private time with her own husband. Who are you to step in and ruin things for them?!”
“You’re just jealous of her, right?! No wonder you pulled this stunt! Shame on you!”
The crowd went on and on, bashing Selena and she recoiled from their hurtful words while Aria reclined gracefully like a queen in her car and watched it all unfold.
Selena could not help but glare at her.
“But how…how could this be possible?” She whispered, terror etched in every part of her face, “I clearly saw that it was Mr Zach!”
Nathan stood by the car, completely speechless now that the man in the car had been revealed to be Lucian.
“Ugh! What bad luck,” he muttered to himself, “This would have been a perfect opportunity to disgrace her. Why couldn’t she have gotten drunk for real and ended up in Mr Zach’s bed?!”
The night was, overall, just a horrible one for him.
He turned on his heels and marched towards his car, unable to stomach the scene again.
Unfortunately for Selena, she could not just leave like that as well.
She was left standing before Lucian, looking like a prey caught by a predator.
She tried to look at Vera but the latter quickly looked away, clearing her throat ominously and hiding behind Kurt’s shoulder.
Kurt himself had his face buried in his palm as he sighed in mortification.
He could not believe the way things had turned out.
When Selena had opened the car door earlier, he’d been very interested in what had happened. When he saw Aria in the car with a man, he could not help but feel a surge of perverse satisfaction, that she was going to be disgraced.
He had looked at Vera and Vera had given him a smug look in return.
He immediately understood that this could be for his favour as well. If Aria was disgraced like this tonight, then he’d be able to apply pressure on her to give up the Nexus logistics company.
It was perfect, and he’d even squeezed Vera’s hand lightly in appreciation.
She always came through at moments like this.
However, his bubble had been burst almost immediately.
Lucian Graves was the one in the car?!
How can a woman be disgraced when she’d only just being intimate with her own husband?
And it was not like they were in a public place. They had been in their car and Selena had been the one who forcefully opened the car door, intruding on their privacy.
Selena was obviously the villian here!
And Vera…
Kurt turned to look at her, his mouth twisting with disgust, “I told you to stay put, didn’t I?!” He whispered fiercely to her.
Vera shook her head in terror, “Listen to me, Kurt. This is not the time and place,” she uttered frantically, “Let’s just get out of here!”
If Selena revealed who had made her to do what she did, she and Kurt would never be able to recover from the backlash.
It would be disastrous and they might even lose Vaughn Empire as well.
Kurt immediately realized that that could happen and he knew the best solution for now, was to leave the scene.
If they were no longer there, even if Selena spilled the tea, she was going to appear as a fool and no evidence to back up her claim.
At once, they began to back away from the crowd, taking deliberate steps towards their car.
However, they had not gotten a few feet away when they heard Selena yell out loudly.
“It was Vera Hale! Vera Hale made me do it!”
