Chapter 135
Chapter 135
“My…my brother?” Veronica wasn't sure if she had spoken the right words.
“Yes, your brother.” Luna Isabella reaffirmed, nodding her head. “After years of searching relentlessly for you, the moon goddess blessed us with him nine years ago.” Luna Isabella explained to the already shocked Veronica.
Veronica’s hands shot up to cover her mouth, and her eyes brimmed with tears which soon began to quickly pour down her face, overwhelming her as a wave of emotion crashed down on her heart.
She had just found out that she had a ‘whole’ brother, and she was in complete shock and extreme happiness at the same time.
She sobbed uncontrollably, her body shaking with the force of her emotions as tears streamed down her face, dripping from her chin as she struggled to process the overwhelming joy and shock that she felt at that instant.
“Come on, don't cry.” Luna Isabella immediately got up, trying to console her, but it seemed like she was inconsolable.
She had always wanted a brother, but when she didn't even know who her parents were, how could it be possible to have one?
“It’s okay, Vee. Please, just breathe…” Her mum rubbed her back, as she tried to help her calm down.
Finally able to put herself together, a faint smile trembled on her lips as she gazed at her brother, taking in the sight of him. And at that moment, she felt an instant connection, a deep bond that seemed to bridge the gap of years they had spent away from each other.
“Come here.” The queen urged her son, who still stood away from them, taking a moment to take in the new realization.
Seeing that he didn't leave where he was standing, his mother decided to help. She gently pulled him forward to stand in front of Veronica, only that he was a couple of steps away from her.
Veronica's hands dropped from her mouth, and she also took a step forward to meet him. She held her arms opening wide in a gesture of longing.
“Oh, little brother,” She whispered, her voice trembling with extreme emotion. “I had no idea I had a brother... I'm so happy to meet you.”
She wiped her tears. “I've always wished to have a brother. I'm so speechless right now.”
“Really?” He inquired, his eyes lightening up.
“Yes.” She answered sharply. “but I thought that the universe had really bad plans for me. I didn't know that fate indeed had good plans for me.” She said as another tear escaped from her eyes.
The young boy suddenly jumped into her embrace and they both held each other in their embrace and cried together, glad to finally meet and reunite with each other.
Watching her children finally unite after so many years apart, Luna Isabella became emotional, and she also joined them, embracing them. Alpha Charles, who had also walked in unnoticed, also joined them too as they had their family hug.
“Here we are, just as we were supposed to be. Thanks to the moon goddess for reuniting our family.” He said, gladly holding his family firmly.
After a moment of reunion, they finally put themselves in order, and they all took their seats, with Vincent clinging to Veronica like he was ready to prevent anything bad from ever happening to his sister again.
And as they sat, Veronica’s eyes fell on a different design of the same art work which was in her room. It also read the same initials: “P.V.C.S”
Noticing, Alpha Charles spoke up, “PRINCE VINCENT CHARLES SILVER.”
Veronica swiftly turned to him.
“That's your brother's name. I noticed you wouldn't stop staring at it. I'm sure you really wanted to know what it stands for, seeing as you both have the same initials. The only difference is that since he has my name, he is Charles junior.” Alpha Charles said to her, smiling.
“Wow…” Veronica smiled. “You were really intentional with picking names for us.” She joked.
“Yes, they really took their time.” Vincent said in agreement, and they all laughed.
He then turned to his sister. “And since we have the same initials, it means we're stuck for life now.” He said jokingly, and they all burst into a hearty laughter.
“You have to tell me everything about you, and the places you've been all this while.” Vincent said to his sister, who sighed.
Alpha Charles suddenly cleared his throat, interrupting Vincent. “That will be a discussion for another day, Vincent.”
“But…” He tried to protest.
Luna Isabella cut in. “Not to be a party pooper, but we really need to get you dressed for tonight. It's almost time.” She said, talking to Veronica.
“Oh, that's true.” Alpha Charles checked the time, and realized that time was far spent.
“One of the male helps will get you dressed too.” Luna Isabella said to Vincent as she got up, preparing to leave the room.
“Okay.” Vincent nodded.
“See you in a jiffy.” Luna Isabella said, giving him a peck on the forehead, and dragging Veronica along with her.
“Wait!” Vincent suddenly shouted, and they stopped in their tracks, and turned to him, their faces filled with surprise.
“What is it, Vincent? Do you need anything?” The queen asked him.
“You're forgetting something.” He stated, his hand folded behind his back like an old man.
“And what is that?” Queen Isabella asked him, her eyebrow raised.
Vincent then pointed at Veronica. “She hasn't given me a peck yet.” He gently tapped his forehead.
“Oh…” Their parents breathed, and Vincent rushed to Veronica, who was looking puzzled.
“Well, it's just a family tradition. Or I'll just call it a family ritual.” Luna Isabella explained to Veronica.
“Welcome to the family.” King Charles, and Queen Isabella said in unison as Vincent stood right in front of Veronica, putting his forehead in place.
“Go ahead.” They said to Veronica, who then smiled beautifully, and slowly gave her brother a peck on the forehead.
“Can we go now?” Their mother asked Vincent, and with a big smile on his face, he nodded affirmatively.
They then immediately left the room to get dressed for the ceremony, which was going to start soon.
Right after they had left and shut the door, the Alpha said, “I need to get dressed too. I'll see you soon.”
He then gave his son a peck on the forehead, and walked out of the room.
About one hour later, the ceremony soon began and the court, which was filled with so much noise from the murmurs of the pack members, who had gathered, talking about different things, suddenly became as quiet as a graveyard as soon as the gong was sounded by the guard, announcing the presence of Alpha Charles, who stepped into the court in his royal apparel.
Without being told, they could all see the joy in his eyes, which wasn't so evident before Veronica’s appearance.
He began, his voice loud and clear. “Citizens of Silver Mist Pack, today is indeed a day of joy for me, my family and the pack at large. I'm sure you all know why we are here. I don’t think I need to go into too much detail.”
“Anyway, as you all know, and have probably been informed, the lost princess, our beloved daughter is back to us and we have none else, but the moon goddess to thank for that.” He continued, his heart filled with joy as he spoke.
The King's eyes scanned the court, his gaze commanding attention. “And from now on, I expect that she be given the same courtesy, respect, and dignity that is rightfully accorded to any member of the royal family, because she is indeed one of us now.” He declared, his voice firm, and commanding.
“If anyone is caught going against my declaration, such a person will have me to contend with.” He said with a much cold tone, sending shivers down their spine.
“I hope I have made myself clear?” He asked, loudly.
“Yes, your majesty.” They chorused in response.
“At this point, I think I'm talking too much.” He said jokingly, in a bid to lighten up the already tense atmosphere, and the people chuckled lightly.
“Now, without further ado, as the Alpha of this pack, I present to you: PRINCESS VERONICA CHARLOTTE SILVER. Our beautiful beloved princess.”
As he spoke, Luna Isabella walked in with Veronica, who was arrayed in a royal attire, like the royalty that she was.
Seeing the people, and how happy they looked as they celebrated her return, Veronica felt a sense of belonging. Her joy knew no bounds. Her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest because of so much excitement.
“Yes, I belong here.” She thought to herself as she made her way to the king with the rest of her family.
“Citizens of the Silver Mist Pack, Behold your princess!!!” Alpha Charles roared, and the people cheered happily, showing gratitude to the moon goddess.
