Chapter 134

Chapter 134
“Uh… who am I meeting?” Veronica asked, with an unsure look on her face.

Her eyes darted from her mother to her father, hoping that one of them would at least give her a clue about who she was going to meet.

“Someone special.” Her mum replied, beaming with a warm smile. “REALLY special.” She stressed, her eyes sparkling with emphasis.

“Come on, let's go.” She urged, and winked at her husband.

He winked back at her, and Veronica caught them, her eyes narrowing in reluctance as a faint crease formed between her eyebrows.

“I just caught you both winking at each other. I'm not sure if I want to meet this person.” She said, furrowing her brows.

“Do you trust me?” Luna Isabella and Veronica nodded slowly, her expression still reluctant.

“Then come with me.” Luna Isabella said, her tone persuasive.

Veronica took a deep breath and finally obliged. Luna Isabella led the way, while Veronica followed closely behind her, wondering where they could be heading to.

As they walked through the majestic hallway, Veronica couldn't help but be awestruck by the palace's majestic magnificence. She stared in astonishment at how orderly the guards stood at attention, their imposing figures arrayed in an orderly formation, neatly dressed in their crisp, tailored uniforms.

And as they walked past, the hallway guards all bowed in unison, leaving a beautiful sight to behold.

Veronica’s gaze wandered off, and soon fell on the hallway’s walls where an exquisite collection of artworks and sculptures were neatly arranged, each vying for attention.

Each piece was a masterful blend of beauty, elegance, and refinement, crafted out of the best material she had ever set her eyes on in her entire life, leaving her breathless and spellbound.

The sheer splendor of her surroundings left no doubt: this was truly a palace fit for royalty, and she almost couldn't believe that this was now her new reality, her new home.

They soon got to a door, and the guards at the door bowed in respect, and opened the door.

Luna Isabella walked in with a big smile on her face, and as the maids in the room saw her, they immediately bowed. She soon noticed that the one they had come to meet, had his back turned to her.

“Is he okay?” Luna Isabella asked one of the maids. “He seems to be in a bit of a sore mood.” She stated, in addition.

“Yes, ma'am. He is just mad because he has been waiting for you for a long time.” She responded respectfully.

“Oh, I see.” She muttered. “Thank you. You can leave now.” She said to the maids, who bowed and immediately excused themselves from the room.

“Hey, young man...” She said as she walked towards his bed.

“Are you not going to speak to me anymore?” She asked, taking her seat beside him on the bed.

He refused to answer, and instead pulled his blanket over his head.

“Oh… Someone is really mad.” She said, feigning sadness, and got up, pretending to leave. “I guess I can't stay here anymore. I'd better be on my way now.”

Hearing that she had just said she wanted to leave, he immediately pulled off his blanket.

Seeing his reaction, Luna Isabella shouted playfully, “Gotcha!” She tickled him, and they all began to laugh.

“I thought you were mad at me and didn't want to see me anymore.” She said, pulling him close to her, and he playfully rolled his eyes at her.

“Would you look at that?” She joked, and Veronica just kept staring, admiring the beautiful bond between the duo.

She loved the fact that she was seeing the queen in another light. A completely different one at that.

“But you promised to come and see me. Why did it take you so long?” He complained, with a frown on his face.

“Well, I'm sorry it took a while before coming to see you, but I'm here now, right? And that's all that matters.” She said, trying to brighten his mood.

“In life, you need to learn to be patient. You never know what is happening at the other end of the wall.” She added, confusing the young champ.

“Uh… what does that mean?” He asked, looking puzzled.

“Don't worry, when you get a bit older, you'll understand.” She said, with a gentle smile, patting his hand reassuringly.

“Anyway, I have a surprise for you.” She said again, and his eyes lit up with excitement.

“Really?”

“Yes!” She responded with excitement too.

“I want you to meet someone.” She whispered into his ear.

She then turned to Veronica, and gestured for her to come closer to them.

“Who is she?” He whispered into Luna Isabella’s ear too.

“Remember how you've always talked about wishing you had a sister, and we've always told you to be patient and hopeful?” She asked, trying to see if he remembered.

“Yes. I've always wanted a sister,” He said, a hint of wistfulness evident in his voice.

“You told me that I had one, but she was kidnapped as a baby.” He said as he remembered.

“That's why I have to have extra guards everywhere I go, so the wicked sorceress won't take me too.” He scowled, his tone laced with complaint.

Luna Isabella chuckled. “Well, you're right. We can't afford to lose you too. We have to do everything within our power to keep you safe.” She explained to him.

“But I don't like it.” He protested, shaking his head.

“You have no choice, my love. Your safety is paramount to us. So until you are old enough to take good care of yourself and keep yourself safe from any harm, you'll always be protected by the guards.” She said firmly, and he knew not to complain any further.

He sighed. “Anyway, I also remember that you, dad and I, usually talked every day about finding her, but we've been unable to find her.” He added as he continued.

“Well, there will be no need to search anymore.” Luna Isabella revealed, and the little boy just stared at her, trying to process what his mother had just said.

Luna Isabella turned to Veronica, and said, “Meet your brother.”
