Chapter 23

Back in the vampire territory ~

"When will he return?" Liliana asked casually sitting on the couch comfortably.

"You cannot sit here, my lady," Felix said.

Liliana frowned at him. But Felix ignored her annoyance and continued.

"This couch belongs to my lord. You cannot sit here until he permits you," he said.

"Don't worry about it. As soon as he returns, he will be forced to give me every permission," she replied smirking. She intentionally took the knife from the table and pretended to cut her palm.

Felix gulped. It would be trouble if the smell of her blood spreads.

The night before Felix knocked at the door of his master. Chris was sleeping peacefully with Roseanne. He was not feeling good about disturbing his master at such a period of the night. But he had no other choice. He was doing everything for his master's welfare.

Chris opened the door slightly. Roseanne was still in deep sleep.

"What is it, Felix? Why are you here at this time?" He asked.

"Pardon me, master. But this is an emergency. The rogue wolves have invaded the vampire territory on the north. If you don't go there, we will lose a lot of castles," he said.

"Isn't this something you can take care of? Why are you asking me to go for such a trivial thing?" Chris asked getting annoyed.

"My lord, you have been here in the castle for a long time. It will grab attention if you stop dealing with the matters related to this territory. Besides lord Astrid is already aware of lady Roseanne. If he speaks up about this, the vampires will start to go against you," Felix explained.

"Fine. I got your point. But I am leaving Roseanne in your protection. Make sure nothing goes wrong. And if you again see Astrid or his army within 100 meters of this castle, inform me immediately," he said.

Before leaving he gently placed a kiss on Roseanne's forehead.

"If she asks about me, don't make her worried. Tell her that I will return soon," he gave the one last order and left.

Felix knew his master trusted him more than himself. He felt bad while betraying him. But he knew that he was doing all these for his master's benefit. That wolf girl would only bring disaster for his master. If he would agree to take the human girl as his mate, he would be living for another thousand years reigning over the world.

Liliana had met with Felix earlier that day. She had explained everything to Felix. They made a plan. Felix decided that he would help Liliana to capture Roseanne and return her to Eris. But as a result, Liliana had to be the bride for Chris. Felix knew Chris would not agree to this. But he had everything planned.

After returning from the borders, Chris would think that Roseanne betrayed him and returned to her mate. Chris would lose his mind. And it would be an opportunity. Liliana would cut her hand. Her blood would make Chris lose control over his mind. And he would be forced to drink Liliana's blood.

Liliana had something else planned on her bag though. If everything went smoothly and she could manage to get control over Chris, the first thing she would do was to destroy that academy. She did not care if the humans live or die. The humiliation she had received, she would not let this go so easily.

Even if Chris would refuse to take her blood, there were plenty of vampires who would kill to get a drop of her blood. Her blood was the key. And she was going to use it to the fullest.

Thinking about reigning over the world brought a huge smile to her face. She was happily imagining her future. Just one more step and she would be the queen of the vampires.

Felix was already getting annoyed with her. If it was not for his master, he would never bear this audacity of this female.

"Can you act a less obvious?" Felix asked annoyingly.

"What?" Liliana came back to reality from her fantasy.

“My lord is very intellectual. If you make such expressions, he will find out immediately," he said.

"Don't worry about it. Eris might have marked her already. If so, his beloved would not even bother to look back at your master. You do not know anything about the wolves. They feel everything based on their bond. You master would not be able to figure out a thing. In fact, watching his beloved making love with her mate would stab him so hard that he would not mind destroying that academy," she said casually.

"How can you hate the place this much that raised you?" Felix asked scrunching his nose.

"Who is she?" suddenly a voice interrupted them.

Back to the academy ~

Alpha Crescent agreed to help me. I decided to run away that night. All I had to do was just to pretend a few more hours so that Eris would not force himself on me.

Eris came to my room immediately after I returned.

"I am your mate. You don't have to watch on me 24 hours," I said flatly.

"Do you accept that?" He asked.

"Why wouldn't I? You have brought me back here. Chris is gone. Liliana is gone. There is no reason for me to refuse you anymore, is there?" I asked him back.

He suddenly hugged me from behind. He buried his face in my hairs.

"I am so glad that you have decided to forgive me," he said.

"What made you so possessive. You knew I would die if you had marked Liliana. What changed you so much suddenly?" I asked him.

He could not reply. He only kept sobbing hugging me tightly.

"You don't have to answer. But remember that I am still the same. Nothing has changed within me. If you get bored again, you won't be able to throw me away this time," I warned him.

"I would not even dare to think of a life without you," he said.

I only laughed a bit at his words. Just a few more hours and I would be free.
