Chapter 22

I was in a terrible situation. If I could not free myself right then, he would end up marking me. And once he would mark me, everything would end.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Eris was annoyed beyond anything. A voice came out from outside.

"Alpha Crescent wants to meet you, alpha."

Eris could not ignore it this time. He looked frustrated. He gave me a look like you this would not happen every time. I will mark you soon.

I fell on the bed exhaustedly. A minute more and he would end up marking me.

"Do you still want to come back to him?" I asked my wolf. She was frustrated.

The comparison between Chris's love and Eris's possession was putting her in a dilemma. But I knew my wolf. She was my part as well. She would never choose possession over love.

But I got afraid, where was Chris. I looked around the room. It was Eris's bedchamber. I was never allowed in his room before.

Even though I was decided to be the Luna he would always skip our meals together. I was not permitted to even visit him in his room.

A beta came to escort me after a while. Alpha Crescent wanted to have a few words with me.

I was feeling awkward. He was the only person who supported me back in the days. He trusted that I could never be the wrong pick. And someday I would be proven as the best Luna.

I knocked at his door. I thought Eris would be there. But he was not. It was comfortable for me. I did not want to have a conversation in front of him.

When I entered the room, alpha Crescent was sitting at the table, carefully checking the daily reports. When I entered, he gave me a bright smile.

"Come, dear," he pointed me to take the chair in front of him.

I sat down quietly. He kept looking at the papers for a few more seconds. Then he looked at me and started.

"Eris has told us everything. My deepest apologies to you on behalf of my son. I know what he did to you is unforgivable. When Eris said he wanted to take Liliana as his mate, I realized something was not right. But since now you have decided to come back, things got easier. But our biggest fear has come true. Liliana is currently in the hands of those vampires. If they take her blood after she turns 18, you know what will happen?" he said.

Worry was written all over his face. He still was unaware of so many things. But I felt light of hope. He was the only person who could help me right then. Eris had lost himself to his possession. He was not even caring about the pack or anything else. All he wanted was to win me over Chris.

"I did not choose to come back," I said calmly.

"What?" Alpha Crescent was looking at me confusedly.

"Yes, I don't know how Eris managed to bring me back here, but the last thing I remember I was looking for Chris in the woods when I got trapped by a few witches," I said.

"Chris?" His eyes widened. He could not manage to sit down anymore. He got up from his chair. “You mean that vampire?" He asked doubtfully.

"Yes. We love each other. Trust me, he is not a bad guy. He has no interest to have a war with the wolves or in Liliana," I said desperately.

I tried to explain to him all the pros and cons of how our relationship developed.

At first, he did not want to trust me. But soon the incidents started to make sense. And he had always been an intelligent person.

"So, are you telling me Liliana is going to betray us?" He asked.

I nodded. "At first I was not being able to calculate it. Why would she do something like that? But then when she said Eris wanted me back it hit me. It was reasonable that she would be mad at him and want to get revenge. I became sure of it by Felix's behavior. He is very loyal to Chris. He would not let Chris lose his life, power or anything because of a wolf like me. It was understandable that he would help Liliana to reach safely to the castle. As far as I can predict, Liliana and Felix had a deal with Eris. Eris is not thinking straight. So, all he wanted was me. They handed me over to Eris. Liliana stayed there to shake hands with the vampires. And then when she turns 18, she will come back. Come back for us, to get her revenge," I finished.

Alpha Crescent was listening to all of these carefully.

"I cannot believe Eris would prove so unworthy. How can an alpha who loses his mind to jealousy take responsibility for the pack?" he questioned disapprovingly. "If Liliana is going to do this, then the last hope for humanity will be gone. Everything I did to build this academy will be in vain," he said sadly.

"There is still a way. I don't know where Chris is. But it is impossible to harm him for anyone alive. If I can meet him soon, we will be able to stop Liliana. And that is how everything can be set back to peace again," I said.

"I never thought the girl I raised will be the reason for our destruction," he said again sadly.

"This is not the time to grieve. Please, help me!" I started pleading. "Help me to get out of here. If I can find Chris it is still possible to stop Liliana. If she forms an ally with the other vampires, I cannot even think of what will happen. And there are a lot of vampires who are against Chris," I said.

I remembered the guy who kidnapped me before. He was also a thousand-year-old vampire. The academy still did not know about that. I did not want them to panic. But that guy seemed like a rival to Chris. If would get Liliana, even Chris would not be able to stop him.
