Chapter 24

"Who is she?" Chris asked suspiciously.

He was not getting any fragrance. But he was sure that the lady sitting in the hall room was a human and possessed the noble blood.

"Ah…my lord," Felix was startled seeing him.

He quickly bowed and went to him to help him to take off his overcoat.

"You said there was a severe attack on the border," Chris looked at Felix and said coldly.

"Yes, my lord. So how did you see it? Did you take care of everything? Oh my! Why am I even asking such a thing? Of course, you have," Felix replied awkwardly while unbuttoning his coat. He was not being able to look into his eyes.

"There were no such attacks. A few rogues tried to steal but the local creatures already took care of them," he said again looking straight into his face.

Felix was done with his overcoat. He took it off from his body and was putting it on the corner.

Liliana got up from the couch and came in front of Chris. She bowed politely to him.

"Welcome back, my lord. I am Liliana," she introduced herself.

Ignoring her greetings, Chris turned back to Felix and asked, "where is Roseanne? Why is she not coming out? Is she mad at me for leaving her without telling?"

Liliana felt offended. How dare that savage vampire could ignore her like that! She slowly picked the knife from the table. Felix realized her intention.

He was continuously pointing her to put that down. Chris was confused by his behavior.

"Felix!" He yelled. "Where is Roseanne?" He asked coldly.

"She left," Liliana replied from behind.

Chris turned back confusedly. "What do you mean by gone?" He asked.

"She could not fight her wolf, my lord. Look at me. Why do you think I have come here? She had returned to ask back her rights. Her mate could not ignore her as well. They abandoned me, abandoned you and get back together, my lord. It's us. I am here for you. My blood can give you what you want," she said.

Chris was standing there with suspicion filled in his eyes.

"I don't trust you," he said. "Felix! Tell me the truth right now," he ordered Felix.

Felix trembled by his words. "She is right, my lord!" He said in a tiny voice.

"You are lying!" Chris said angrily. He knew Felix for more than 400 years. He was not being able to fathom that he would lie to him to this extent.

Liliana was getting impatient. She knew he would not trust their words. It was hard to make him believe in that unless he would see it with his own eyes.

Liliana was desperate. She could not let that chance go. She needed to control Chris. She knew her blood had not awakened yet. It would not bring any major change to his body. But her blood was able to make him addicted. Once he would drink that blood, he would not be able to get rid of her.

She took the knife and gave a small cut on her palm. Blood started to come out of her vessels. Chris was suddenly hit hard by the smell of that blood. It was the most desired blood for the vampires. His eyes started glowing. Felix also could not keep his control. His eyes were glowing as well.

Chris was feeling thirsty. When he looked at the blood it was as if calling him. He suddenly felt like he wanted that blood.

The smell of the blood had spread across the area. All the vampires were getting it. Everyone started to lose control over their sanity. They were being drawn towards the smell from where it was coming.

Back to the academy ~

Alpha Crescent had prepared the fastest mount for Roseanne. If she would shift, Eris would feel her wolf getting away. So, she decided to run away in her human form.

Eris was making all the preparations for their first-ever mating ritual. He was excited. His wolf was beyond happy. It was the power of the actual bond. He never felt like this with Liliana.

Roseanne came out of the academy through the emergency exit of the Alpha Crescent's room.

She thanked him and promised him that she would not let anything happen to that academy.

After bidding farewell, she got on the mount and started her journey towards the vampire territory.

She had thought a lot the whole day about the situation. She knew Chris was not someone who could be kidnapped. And considering how loyal Felix was, he would not do something that might hurt him.

She guessed it was probably Felix. He created any issue to make Chris run for it. And if that was what happened then Chris would return to the castle right after solving that issue. The best choice was the castle where she could find Chris. So, she decided before roaming around aimlessly, she would go to the castle first. She hoped that Chris would return.

On the castle ~

Chris was feeling a burning pain in his throat. The more he was looking at that blood the more he was feeling that pain.

He was feeling as if he was drugged. Liliana came towards him and raised her hand. Blood was still coming out of her wound.

Chris was looking into her eyes. The blood had a smell. It was attracting him. But it was different. He was feeling pain physically. But there was no desire or affection he was feeling.

He would get excited to bite just by looking at Roseanne's face. Numerous times he had controlled himself from biting her. He even used Felix to get control over himself so that he would not end up hurting Roseanne.

Liliana brought her palm closet to his mouth. He wanted to resist. But his instinct was making it hard for him.

He had lived for thousands of years. He could not let this girl who was still a minor, play with him as she wished.
