Chapter 99 Untitled Chapter
“What is wrong with you, Amelia?” He released my wrist as soon as we arrived at the parking lot. “They were blaming me, Hans. Allow me to go back there and show them I am their Alpha, and I deserve respect from them!
“If you are going to teach them a lesson, then do it alone. Have you forgotten Amy has been trying to poison your mind for a while now? What if she ends up killing all of them?”
What a bummer! Then I would have been the one regretting everything. Why was I so dumb to have even given her the go-ahead? Sighs.
“Thank you for bringing me back to my senses, Hans. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come.”
He smiled, drew me closer to himself, and wrapped his hand around my waist. “You know how much I love you, right? And you know I will never allow you to make a terrible decision.”
Aww, what a lovely man. “I know you love me, but I don't know how much it is. Do you mind showing it to me? Perhaps in the other ro…”
“Alpha Amelia?”
Who on earth is tired of living peacefully? Can't they see that Hans and I are having a good moment?
“What!” I turned around and snapped. “Oh, did I interrupt anything? I am so sorry.” Matilda lowered her head sadly, playing with her nails.
Oh, I didn't know it was her.
“What is it, Matilda? Why are you here? You are supposed to be in the packhouse, safe.”
“I got bored and decided to follow you. Plus, I was so scared staying behind because you aren't there to protect me if any danger comes.” She stretched her neck, looking at the emergency unit. “What happened in there, Alpha Amelia? I can see a lot of the members there.”
“Oh, Amelia healed the injured, but unfortunately, some of them died.”
“What!” Her eyes widened in shock as she exclaimed. “You healed them? How? Where did you get the antidote?”
Matilda is acting so weird. Why does she look so shocked? She knows I possess powers gifted by the moon goddess. Why is she surprised that I healed them?
“Tell me, Alpha Amelia. How did you…”
“She used her power, Matilda.” Hans sighed annoyingly. “And there is something I need to ask you, Matilda.” He stepped forward, his hands in his side pockets. “Do you by any chance have a connection with demons?”
What now?
“Demons?” She gasped shudderingly. “I have nothing to do with demons, Alpha Hans. I don't even know them, nor do I know where they dwell.”
Hmmm.
“Are you sure you are telling the truth?”
What is Hans up to? She said she doesn't know them nor have any connection with them. Can't he just leave her alone?
“We have never encountered demons in this pack until you stepped in here. Also, the first time the demon entered this pack was on the day you returned with Amelia. Moreover, the demon went to the packhouse and attacked no one but you. Tell me, Matilda, aren't you related to them?”
Omg! This is so bad. Hans is acting like a detective, interrogating a suspect.
“I swear,” she broke down in tears. “I have nooo idea what you are talking about, Alpha Hans. If I were related to the demons, I wouldn't have left our realm to dwell among wolves,” she sobbed.
“But you dwelled in the dark shadows of the sect. And as far as I know, all the creatures in this kingdom dwelled there before they were wiped out. And I am sure even demons would be…”
“Hans?” I cut him off, signaling to him to stop. He is scaring the innocent girl. Can't he see that she is trembling in fear and sobbing? “Matilda doesn't know what you are talking about.”
“You never can tell, Amelia. And since we are still talking about the demons, I would like to talk to Matilda alone; there are a lot of questions weighing on my chest to ask her.”
Alone? Ppfft. And he thinks I will agree to that? I am not an idiot to leave both of them alone. Yes, I am jealous that Matilda would snatch Hans from me.
“No, Matilda doesn't want to listen to you anymore. She needs to rest now.”
I grabbed Matilda’s wrist and pulled her closer to myself, away from Hans. Asking her those questions is not necessary. She doesn't even know what he is talking about? And it might give her the wrong impression that we are suspecting her.
“Amelia? Do not leave; allow me to do what I want to do.” Hans called out, but I ignored him.
He and I have things to talk about later. And it is best if I stop him from saying he wants to talk to Matilda alone. I can't tolerate that. He is mine alone, and no other woman can share him with me.
“Is Alpha Hans suspecting me, Alpha Amelia?” Matilda’s lips twitched as she asked me. Her eyes were filled with tears, and her expression broke my heart. Hans went too far with the questioning. He should have just left her alone.
“I have no idea what he was talking about. I seriously do not have a connection with any demon.” She blinked, letting the tears fall from her eyes. Then she gently wiped it off with her fingers and exhaled.
“You spent a few days with me at the Dark Shadows sect. If there was anything wrong with me, you could have sensed it then, Alpha Amelia. We slept on the same bed, ate together, and also…”
She paused and turned her face towards the door swiftly, like someone who was possessed. “Alpha Hans is eavesdropping,” she snarled, biting her lower lip with widened eyes.
She looked so scary doing that. And I was stunned that she knew Hans was standing by the door outside. How did she know about that?
“I can smell him,” she sniffled, her face broadening in a smile like a pervert. “He smells so good; I love his scent.”
No way! Matilda must be joking. She can never smell Hans. He isn't her fated mate; only I can smell him.
If she can truthfully perceive his scent, then it means one thing: he is her fated mate also.
