Chapter 83 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 83 Untitled Chapter
But no, I cannot kill her, for the sake of the pup she is carrying. Had she not been pregnant, I would have gone back to that pack and dragged her by her hair until she died in my hands.

“Now I shall send you back home!” I released him, clapped my fingers, and he fell, dead. I clapped again, and in a second, they were gone.

“Get me my phone from the car,” I ordered Matilda, swaying my hair into a loose bun. She handed over the phone to me and stepped aside.

I dialed Jerry’s number, and after just one ring, he answered. “Amelia? What was that you just did? Didn't I tell you I was going to…”

Oh, he must have received the guys. “Spare me the details, Jerry, and listen to what I have to say!” I snapped at him, and he went mute.

“Those fools tried to kill us on the way, not knowing that no one in this kingdom is capable enough to kill me. Tell your mate, Gwendolyn, to stay out of my sight, or else she will roll in her own blood very soon. How dare she send men to kill me? I killed them, and they are a warning for her!”

“Omg! Alpha Amelia, please forgive her. I didn't know she would go to that length. Please do not retaliate. I will deal with her myself.”

Not retaliate? “We shall see about that, Alpha Jerry, but I cannot let Gwendolyn go free for what she has done!”

I disconnected the call, tossed the phone to Matilda, and got inside the car.

“Can you drive, Alpha Amelia?” she asked, gulping down. “Yes. Are you scared?”

“Umm, it's just that I…i…”

“Brace up, young lady. I was in a race once. And guess what? I came first for our pack. When we arrive at the park, I will show you the trophy.”

A girl who cannot drive? I say, she is a baby.

Matilda put on the belt, leaned on the seat, and closed her eyes as if she were praying to the moon goddess.

“By the time you open your eyes, we will already be at the Lunskye pack.”

One and a half hours later, we arrived at the Lunskye pack. I sighed in relief, leaning on the seat, steering the wheel.

“It was so fast, Alpha Amelia, I thought we were going to bump into a moving vehicle.” She sighed in relief, leaning on the seat too.

Meaning she didn't believe in my driving? Bad for her. It seems she doesn't believe that I won first place in the kingdom’s car race, either.

When we drove past the company, I wanted to make a stop to surprise Hans, but looking at the time, he must be in the packhouse by now.

“This pack is so pretty, Alpha Amelia.”

Uhn? Isn't this the pack she was born in? Healer Matt told me so.

“I mean, it has changed a lot. I left when I was a toddler.”

So she practically grew up in the dark shadows’ sect. It's a good thing that she didn't join the organization and curse herself.

“You missed a lot, Matilda. But thank the goddess that she brought you back here; I assure you, you will love it here.”

She bobbed her head, giggling in delight.

At the Packhouse, I inhaled as soon as I stepped out of the car. So good to breathe in the fresh air of my gracious pack once again.

“Welcome back, Alpha Amelia,” the servant’s chorus filled the air like a howl under the bright moon.

“Thank you,” Matilda said, amazingly.

We went inside the packhouse, and I went directly to the stairs, leaving Matilda with the servants in the living room.

I want to surprise Hans; he will be so excited to see me back.

“Hans?” I turned the door handle but was left with an empty room. Hans wasn't there, and he wasn't in the bathroom either.

He isn't a fan of books. If not, I would have thought he was in the study room.

“Where is Hans?” I asked one of the servants as I came down the stairs.

“Alpha Hans is still at the company, Alpha Amelia.”

The company? This is 8 pm, and we usually leave the office by 5 pm. What kind of work is he doing that holds him?

Anyway, it won't be bad to surprise him at the office.

“Are you tired, Matilda? If you aren't, let's go to the company.”

She happily followed me like a little pup following her mom around.

When we arrived at the company, Hans wasn't there either, nor were the employees. The security guys were the only ones left, just as it should have been.

“Alpha Hans left early, Alpha Amelia, and I heard he was going to the Delta’s headquarters. He has been going there for two days now.”

The headquarters? What is going on? Hans cannot be going there for two days if something isn't wrong.

But why will he not tell me if anything goes wrong? He should have called to inform me.

“Are we going to the headquarters?” Matilda asked, yawning.

“Yes, but you look tired. Why don't you go back to the Packhouse and rest?”

“Am I not the beta anymore, Alpha Amelia?” She puckered her lips. “I am expected to go everywhere with you.”

Since she wasn't ready to go back, we went to the headquarters again.

“Alpha Amelia, when did you come back?” General Lykon bowed his head, beaming in delight. “Welcome back, Alpha. We've heard of the incredible thing you did at the Dark Shadows sect, and we are so proud of you. Congratulations for wiping them out; now we are…”

Yeah, yeah, that's not what took me there. “Where is Hans? He isn't in the Packhouse nor in the company. And I was told he is here.”

“Oh,” he jabbed his temple, scanning the surroundings. “Alpha Hans is… uhmm… He,”

What in the name of the moon goddess is going on? He is acting weird, and I can feel like something isn't right in this pack.

“I can't smell him, Amelia; it seems like Hans isn't close by,” Amy said, sniffing the air.

But how? Where did he go?

“Tell me, General Lykon. Where did Hans go?”

“Please don't get mad, Alpha Amelia.”

I knew it! Something is definitely wrong.

“Alpha Hans has gone to the Arkonox pack to speak to his brother, Alpha Hams.”

Hams? Hams is dead! I killed him at the Dark Shadows sect. So what is he talking about?

“He went to get back Axel and the pack members from the Valtorium.”
