“Alpha Jerry, thank you for your kind hospitality. When I reach the Lunskye pack, I will inform Alpha Hans of the good things you did while I was here. And I will also tell him the part where your pack members are rude.”
“Hey, please leave that part. I told you I was going to take care of it, okay? Also, why do you keep taunting me with Hans’ name in all of our conversations? I get it that you guys are mated, but must you say it to my face?” He scoffed and drew Gwendolyn to himself.
“I also have a Luna, and she is the sweetest woman I have ever come across.”
Gwendolyn smiled like a clown, but even she knew that Jerry was saying that out of jealousy. He only chose her as his Luna because he had no choice.
“That's good, Jerry, and I am happy for you guys. You are so perfect for each other.” I winked at them and turned to Matilda, who was trying as much as she could not to laugh.
“Matilda? Let’s go already. Or do you want to spend the rest of your life here?”
“Absolutely not,” she scoffed, but quickly chipped in. “Although the Harmony pack is nice and hospitable, I have a job at the Lunskye pack.”
Smart move.
“Thank you, Alpha Jerry and Luna Gwendolyn.” She bowed her head slightly.
I looked down at Gwendolyn’s protruding tummy, and my face lit up. She is carrying a pup, Alpha Jerry’s pup. I wish Hans and I would soon have ours too. Can't wait to hold our little bundle of joy.
“By the way, congratulations, guys. When you put it to bed, do not forget to invite me to the pup’s dedication.”
“We will, Alpha Amelia. Don't you think you should get going? This is 3 pm, and the Lunskye pack is like 4 hours away from here.”
That's correct, and it isn't like I am scared of the dark. Well, Gwen is only agitated that Jerry was smiling at me, the woman he admired.
“I will, Gwen, relax. I'm not here to take your mate away. I have Hans, and I am sure he is the perfect mate for me because,” I looked around, then lowered my voice. “He fucks well.”
As if I have ever tasted his thingy.
“What a shame, Amelia, what a shame.” Gwen shook her head, clicking her tongue on her palate.
“Goodbye, Alpha and Luna, I appreciate all you did. When I reach the Lunskye pack, I will give you guys a call.” I made the phone call sign, winking at them.
“Hey, do not call him; call me.”
Gwen is insecure about Jerry and me. Can't she just give up already? I want nothing to do with Jerry.
Matilda and I got inside the car Jerry had prepared for us and waved to them as the car drove out.
The drive was a smooth one; however, the car developed a fault just two hours outside the Harmony Pack.
“I am so sorry, Alpha Amelia, but can you come out for a bit? So I can check what is wrong with the car.”
Great! Now we are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Well, that's fine. We can stretch our legs since we've been sitting in the car for too long.
“How long do you think this will take?” I asked the driver to get out of the car.
“Definitely not forever, Alpha.” Is that sarcasm or what? The way he said it sounded like he was ridiculing me.
“Excuse me?” Matilda stepped forward, glaring at him. “You don't talk to an Alpha that way. Is this how you converse with your Alpha?”
Seriously, Matilda is so tough, and I love it!
“No, young lady, because our Alpha is not a woman who is a weakling. He…”

She smacked her palm on his face, sending his head to hit the car. I was amazed by the way she slapped him without warning.
“Matilda dear, you have been promoted to any rank that makes anyone above the Beta. Girl!! You astonished me.”
I fling my hair back, rolling up my sleeve as I walk towards the idiot who thinks he can talk to me anyhow.
Like, what audacity pill did he take before starting this car two hours ago? I take shit from nobody!
“Why are the members of the Harmony pack so rude? Jerry isn't rude; he is the simplest and most respectful wolf I have ever met. Where did you guys get your gut from?”
I snapped my fingers, pinning him to the car.
“Yes, speak!” Matilda snapped, whacking his back.
Bang!
A hard thing hit my head, sending shivers down my spine. Surprisingly, the pain vanished as soon as I felt it, and rage took over me.
I spun to see the idiot who could have done that, and it was the other guy sitting in the passenger’s seat. He was holding a huge plank of wood, eyes widened in shock, and quietly stepping back.
I stretched out my hand, grabbed his neck, lifted him off his feet, and slammed him on the floor.
“How dare you!” I growled, gnawing my lips. “Who says you can provoke me and go free? Tell me!” My voice cracked like a thunderclap, scaring off the birds in the wood.
“Please, Alpha Amelia, do not kill us; it wasn't our doing, we were told to do this,” he pleaded, tears flowing down his face.
There is no way they would have acted that way if someone wasn't behind them. And I must know who it is before letting them go, dead!
“Speak!” I smacked his head, and Matilda did the same with the other guy. “It was…Luna Gwendolyn. She said we must kill you because you are a threat to her relationship.”
Oh, really? So it was Gwen? That girl has just bought herself a problem, and I swear to the moon goddess, she will regret what she did!
“Luna Gwendolyn crossed the line, Alpha Amelia. How could she do something as stupid as this?” Matilda gasped unbelievably.
“Kill her, Amelia, kill Gwendolyn!” Amy snarled between clenched teeth. “She must die because she wants you to die.”
