“Do not be surprised yet because that is not the end. I also wiped out the memories of three hotel attendants who were so rude to me. I should have killed them, too.”
Jerry gasped, eyes as wide as an owl’s. “You are unbelievable, Amelia. How can you even do that to my pack members?”
Did he miss the part where I said those two were members of the Dark Shadows sect? Ugh. Whatever!
“If it were I who came into your pack and did that to your members, would you be happy about it?”
“Hell no, Jerry, I will not. And I can even go to war with you.”
“Why?” His pointed nose lifted.
“Because my pack members are disciplined. They can never disrespect anyone. But yours are stupid. You’d better take care of them before I do it for you, Jerry. I was even planning to go to war with you.”
“You are who you are, Amelia, so full of yourself and…”
“Cut the crap and take me inside, Jerry. I need to wipe off this stench off my body.” Jeez! I reek! I don't want this odor to penetrate my skin and let Hans smell it. Also, Hans and I are going to have the most steamy night ever as soon as I arrive.”
Jerry shook his head, sighed deeply, and ran his long fingers through his long, silky black hair.
“Let us go, Matilda.” Matilda giggled, putting her hand in mine.
Jerry and I went to the same academy years ago, and just like the other young Alphas from this kingdom who were in the same class with me, Jerry also wanted to be my mate. But I didn't give any of them a chance, as that wasn't what I was after.
I was the toughest lady at that time, and all the boys feared me like a monster. They avoided me like the plague, and only a few of them followed me around like tails.
My ambition then was to study hard, train like never before, and take over my father’s throne when he dies.
“Take Alpha Amelia to the guest’s room and tell Luna to give her something nice to wear.” The maid bowed her head and turned to me.
“You are welcome, Alpha Ameli. Please come with me.”
She took me and Matilda to the guest room and later brought clean dresses for us. After we were done, we stepped out to meet Alpha Jerry and also get something to stop the rumbling sound in our stomachs.
As soon as I stepped down the stairs, my eyes met with Jerry’s mate, Luna.
“If it isn't Gwen, the clown.” I folded my arms, staring at her with a smirk. She dropped the fashion magazine in her hand, leaned back on the sofa, and scoffed. “Do not call me that again, Amelia. I am now a Luna. Call me Luna Gwen.”
The audacity. “The daughters of Alphas should fight to become Alphas themselves, not Lunas. You are a shame to me, Gwen.”
“Oh, cut it, Amelia! You should fight to become Lunas, not Alphas. Why would a woman even want to become an Alpha? What have you even done for your pack since you ascended the throne?”
“Hey, Gwen?” Jerry called, hurrying towards her. “Amelia has achieved so much. And didn't you hear what I was telling you earlier on? She awakened the magic gifted to her by the moon goddess a few weeks after ascending the throne. Also, she wiped out the Dark Shadows sect; it is all over the internet.”
That is one thing I like about Jerry. He never once let Gwen or anyone look down on me back at school. Gewn was the girl following him around, pleading with him to make her his luna. And he was running after her then, pleading I become his luna.
We were the only daughters of Alphas from different packs, pursuing different things. She was the clown, and I was the tough one.
“Are you going back to your old ways, Jerry? I can't believe this. Amelia is already mated to Alpha Hans. Why are you still here?”
“Cut the crap, Gwen. Do not call my name like you used to. You and I aren't on the same level anymore. You will call me Alpha Amelia, or…” I snapped my fingers, pushing out a little fog. And when she saw the light in my eyes too, she staggered back, holding Jerry for support.
“See what I was telling you? Now you have seen it yourself. So now, you should stop picking fights with Amelia whenever you cross paths with her. Also, she will be staying here for two more days.”
“What! She cannot stay here,” she whispered to him, holding him like a scared little girl. “I will, Gwendolyn. And I heard all you were saying, so do not think you can whisper to anyone about me. Whatever you say, it is as clear as water in my ears.”
Gwendolyn didn't have dinner with us that day because she was scared that I might transform her into a statue or embarrass her in front of her servants. Gwen was just a drama queen. She knows that I would never do that, no matter how she provokes me.
We were frenemies back at school, fought today, and became friends tomorrow. Sometimes, she will gather her friends to beat me up, but I always end up beating them to a pulp. And it got worse the day she found out her secret crush was in love with me.
“Who is she, Amelia? You have been going around with her, and now, she is eating at the same table with us. I would have to say she is your sister, but you don't have one. Is she your cousin?”
Dou! I don't have any cousins, he knows, unless he is trying to pull my leg.
“Her name is Matilda, and she is going to be my Beta.”
“You're what! A lady? Why am I even surprised that you chose a girl as a beta? You are the only female Alpha in this kingdom, so good luck with that.”
