Chapter 185 No Other Options

If, as Cyril said, the project was fully entrusted to Charlotte through official procedures, that would mean that Charlotte would manage the designers sent over as well. As long as she was loyal to Jason, there wouldn't be any problems.

Jason didn't refute this time, sinking his eyebrow in deep thought, seemingly weighing the pros and cons carefully.

Charlotte couldn't remain calm for a while and wanna whisper to remind him.

Before she could make a sound, she heard Jason decide, "Okay."

What? Charlotte was stunned and confused.

"What?" Stella was even more stunned and stared at Jason incredulously. "Jason, do you know what you're saying? Are you trying to get Ms. Seinfield to be a shareholder?"

To put it bluntly, that was what it meant.

Jason admitted without hesitation, "It's two birds with one stone."

The only trouble was that Charlotte might be sandwiched between the two parties.

However, that was not what Charlotte was currently worried about. She was worried about only one thing. "I'm afraid I'm not up to such an important task."

Once she agreed, she would be deeply bound to the S&C and could not leave even if she wanted to.

Charlotte wanted to leave herself room for maneuver.

Jason's eyes darkened. It was hard to tell his emotions, and he casually replied, "It seems that Ms. Seinfield doesn't want it. What a pity. We can only work together next time, Mr. Lloyd."

His attitude was decisive and clear, making it clear that he didn't want to discuss one more word.

Cyril's face darkened as he looked directly at Charlotte, "Ms. Seinfield, should you reconsider it?"

Now, the major decision was up to her. As long as she nodded, the deal could be facilitated. The designer's problem had been solved. Being able to work with Lloyd Group certainly did more good than harm to S&C currently.

Charlotte pondered silently, turning her head to seek Jason's opinion, but he just seemed that it was all up to her.

"Mr. Lloyd, I would like to think about it."

"Of course. Feel free to negotiate anytime after you're done considering it," Cyril responded with a fake smile.

Even though he was just expressing his normal courtesy, Charlotte always felt that he was secretly doing something bad .

Cyril had already stood up. He nodded at Jason and signaled to Stella, "Then Stella and I will leave now. I heard from her that there will be a high school reunion in a few days. Will you attend it, Mr. Langley?"

Charlotte wondered, 'A reunion? That doesn't seem to be Jason's style.'

Jason glanced at Stella with serious eyes. "Stella didn't tell me about it."

Only then did Stella have time to answer, "I seemed to have upset you last time, so I didn't tell you. I supposed that you wouldn't be available."

"Indeed, I won't. Say hello to the friends for me." Jason nodded to gesture for her to leave.

There was disappointment in Stella's eyes.

Charlotte listened to the conversation between the three of them and always felt that there was some inside story in it.

After sending Cyril and Stella away, Charlotte looked at Jason as he continued to work with a calm demeanor. She asked in confusion, "Are you really going to let me take the lead?"

Jason didn't even lift his head and said naturally, "You've been following up on S&C's related projects. You know it the best and are the most suitable candidate. I don't feel at ease with someone else being in charge."

Although Charlotte was grateful for his trust, to her, the pros outweighed the cons. "I am not capable enough to be in charge, so please hand it over to someone else if you can, Mr. Langley."

Jason stopped what he was doing and looked at her. "Charlotte, there is simply no such option as someone else."

The basic condition that led to the cooperation was for her to manage it.

Charlotte pursed her lips to stop arguing. She couldn't really bear to give up this opportunity. Moreover, Langley Group had signed with Flora with Charlotte's work, so it'd be the most appropriate and assured for her to be in charge.

Charlotte thought for a long time and asked Jason for his opinion, "Do you think I should do it?"

She put aside her identity and asked for his most essential opinion.

Jason quietly looked at her face before he answered slowly, "You should."

He paused and added, "This is your own business."

Charlotte felt quite intrigued.

She had been dependent on Jason, and now having her own career with her own actionable decisions seemed nice.

Charlotte pursed her lips and solemnly agreed, "Well. I'll take it."

Jason raised his eyebrows, seemingly not expecting her to agree so quickly. "No longer considering it?"

"Since you said it's worth it, there's nothing to consider." Charlotte wouldn't think twice after making a decision. She was focusing on other things already.

Jason silently recalled what she had said. He was in a better mood and smile.

With the decision made, both parties quickly drew up a contract, and the official signing was set for three days later.

On that day, Charlotte took care of other things early and double-checked the contract to see if there were any mistakes, her palms unconsciously sweating with nervousness.

Jason could see that she was nervous and gently reassured her, "just a signature."

"Yeah." She still felt nervous. It was just signing a contract for Jason, but it was a whole new experience for her.

The two of them went downstairs together. There were two cars parked at the gate.

Charlotte was puzzled. "Won't you go with me?"

Jason didn't find that it was not okay. He explained naturally, "I'm going somewhere else. Don't worry. I've instructed the chauffeur."

On such an important occasion, he was not going with her.

Charlotte's accumulated courage instantly disappeared. She subconsciously asked, "Where are you going, Mr. Langley?"

Jason's eyes were evasive. He avoided her topic while nodding to signal her. "Go now. Don't be late."

She really didn't have any time to waste. As she hesitantly got into the car, her eyes followed Jason outside the car until he was out of sight.

Charlotte and the chauffeur locked eyes in the rearview mirror. She resisted the urge to ask about Jason's schedule, secretly forcing herself to focus.

After she arrived at the conference hall, she found that there were almost no monitoring blind spots there, and there was a distinctive reminder pasted on the wall, which said "Surveillance Shooting Area". It was a perfect place to sign a contract.

Only Cyril sat at the end of the large conference hall. Charlotte couldn't see his face clearly and was unable to read his thoughts.

From the very beginning of seeing him, Charlotte vaguely felt uneasy. She sat down two chairs away from him. With the idea of getting it done as soon as possible, she took out the contract. "Mr. Lloyd, please check it again. If there is no problem, we can sign it."

Cyril, however, did not even glance at the contract she offered. His hands were folded on the desktop as he showed a terrifying smile. "There is no need to be in such a hurry. Why don't we talk first?"

Charlotte frowned. Knowing that he was up to no good, as she expected, she resisted, "I'm afraid that you and I have nothing to talk about, Mr. Lloyd."

"That's not true. You've been away from home for so long. A lot of changes have happened at home. As your brother, I certainly have the obligation to let you familiarize yourself with them clearly. You'll feel less alienated when you return," Cyril replied as a matter of course.

"Mr. Lloyd, I remember I clearly said that I won't go back." Charlotte felt troubled and had no choice but to bring Bonnie up. "Mrs. Lloyd respects my wishes very much."

Cyril's eyes narrowed. His tone was flat but arrogant. "You may have overestimated Aunt Bonnie's ability."
