Chapter 75 THEY ARE OF THE SAME KIND
As Lady Eleanor stepped into the palace, hurriedly, she noticed a young boy, going in the same direction as she was. She only saw his back view, and Lady Eleanor felt a sudden jolt of recognition. There was something about this boy that seemed... familiar.
Something she could only feel towards her kind.
Kallix, sensing Lady Eleanor's gaze from behind, slowed his pace. He turned around. He looked up at her, and their eyes locked in a moment. Lady Eleanor's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with questions. Who was this boy, and what kind of power did he possess?
There was no need for her to keep thinking of who he is. She knew that they were the same, the same in the sense of power and energy. But who was this boy, exactly? How did he end up in the palace?
"You're going to see the Queen?" Lady Eleanor asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kallix nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "Yes, milady."
He scrutinized his gaze before responding to the question. He saw the expensive dress she wore, the hairpin, down to her accessories. Then he figured out that she must be someone of respectable figure.
Lady Eleanor's gaze intensified just as Kallix's gaze also did. She detected the faint hum of shamanic power, the unmistakable signature of a spiritual adept. But what's this evil spirit she was feeling also? Was it from the little kid?
She decided to enquire better. She might manage to get something out of him since he's a little kid. He mustn't know what she was scheming in her head.
"You're... different," Lady Eleanor said, her voice measured. "What kind of power do you possess?"
Kallix smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. Eleanor didn't for once expect that kind of glint in his eyes. Followed by his response.
"Enough to sense the darkness that's coming," he replied, his voice low and mysterious.
Lady Eleanor's eyes widened, her mind racing with implications. She knew that she had to find out more about this enigmatic boy and the powers he possessed… 
He was straight forward, more like the little boy knew what she wanted to know, exactly but didn't want to tell her more until she directly ask him. And he said he had powers enough to detect the darkness that's coming.
That means she was indeed right. There's a dark power in this palace. More like a ghost beast.
“Tell me more,”
The boy scoffed, “I need to see the Queen. I miss her.”
Eleanor was even more stunned. Was he that close with the Queen? And ealier on, he seemed like he would tell her if she asked, but now.
She humphed and followed the boy curtly.
Once they arrived at the Queen's door, they both halted. Kallix turned to look at Eleanor who also halted on seeing him stop.
“Can I see the Queen, now?” He asked turning back to the guards at the door.
They glanced at each other before one of the guards nodded and skipped into the Queen's chamber, closing the door softly behind him. Lady Eleanor and Kallix stood waiting, their eyes fixed on the door waiting for the guard to come back soon.
After a brief moment, the guard emerged
“You may enter,” he said, stepping aside to allow them to pass.
The guard closed the door behind them.
As soon as they entered, Lady Eleanor and Kallix's faces contorted in unison, their noses wrinkling in distaste. They glanced at each other, their eyes locking in a moment of mutual understanding.
What's this stench smell in this room? It was clear to them that it wasn't a sign of dirtiness. But the smell was far different than it could be thought.
Eleanor's senses was on high alert, and she could feel the beast's power coursing in the room. The beast must have left some dark powers in the room to harm Evelyn.
Kallix's eyes became serious as he took in the chamber's room. How could they wage off the evil spirit? If care is not taken, this night, Evelyn might be declared dead, because she has no self awareness about these evil spirits.
Evelyn emerged from the bedroom, and as soon as Kallix saw her, his face lit up, and he walked towards her with a hint of a smile. His face had totally changed from one of being curious to one that was enthusiastic.
Evelyn smiled warmly and nodded at him. Kallix looked up at Damien and then back at Evelyn, his eyes sparkling with a request.
“Milady, could you carry me?”
Damien stepped forward intending to do the stress on behalf of Evelyn. She couldn't let him know that something had happened here. Evelyn was still weak and can't do this thing Kallix. Was this boy playing tricks with them? But Kallix shook his head seeing Damien step forward.
 "No need," he said simply, seeming to change his mind.
Lady Eleanor watched the exchange, her eyes narrowing slightly as she observed Kallix's behavior. She knew what this brat just did. He wanted to confirm his doubt, and he just did.
Eleano bowed lightly, making her presence known. "Your Majesty."
Evelyn turned to her, surprised, and Damien's eyes widened as he recognized her. This was the same lady he bumped into weeks ago. But what was she doing here?
Lady Eleanor took a seat next to Evelyn, and Damien stood behind them, Kallix standing quietly by his side. 
Lady Eleanor began to ask Evelyn questions about her well-being and her how she had been handling the kingdom.
“You look tired, how have you been? How is the kingdom faring?”
Evelyn smiled lightly wanting to change the topic. She found the perfect topic to come up with.
“How is my little boy? Is he doing well. You should have brought him along.”
Evelyn successfully changed the topic, they spoke about the kid. But after that, Eleanor went back to their previous discussion.
Evelyn knew that there was no how she could avoid the topic, any longer. Eleanor seemed to know something about what was happening. Was she having that dream as well?
As they conversed, Lady Eleanor's questions seemed innocent enough, but Kallix's eyes would occasionally flicker to her, as if sensing that there was more to her queries than met the eye.
Finally, Lady Eleanor asked a question that seemed straightforward, but one that she already knew the answer to. "Tell me, Your Majesty, have you noticed anything unusual about the kingdom lately?”
