Chapter 76 SPECIAL IN WHAT WAY?

Chapter 76 SPECIAL IN WHAT WAY?
Evelyn was short of words to respond to Eleanor's question. Does she know anything about the demonic beast tormenting everyone? She seemed to be someone with great power.
Was Eleanor someone she could share this with? In her past life, Eleanor was a good person, but was she still? And she could remember that she seemed to be from a strange lineage.
Putting trust in what she had experience in her past life, she decided to trust Eleanor on this one. She might be the right person to share this with.
She cleared her throat, clearing off the doubt, Evelyn's eyes met Kallix's, and she nodded slightly. "Kallix, dear, would you mind excusing us for a moment? I need to discuss some matters with Lady Eleanor."
But before Kallix could respond, Lady Eleanor spoke up. "Actually, Your Majesty, I think Kallix's presence might be... enlightening. He's shown a remarkable understanding of the situation so far."
Evelyn stumbled on her words, even Kallix know? This was getting far confusing than she thought. How could Kallix know? What does he know?
Then she remembered that Kallix also resides in the Palace, what if he had been having the same dream as everyone else? He's just a little kid, and for the past few days she hadn't been paying attention to him.
No longer having breakfast with him, what if he has something important to share with her. Has she failed him?
Kallix's eyes flickered to Lady Eleanor, a hint of curiosity in his gaze. Was this lady saying that she needs his help?
Evelyn swallowed the doubt in her head and raised her eyes to look at Damien. Damien in turn replied with a nod. Trusting Damien abd Eleanor she decided that he could stay.
But her doubt and curiousity was still there. Who exactly was Kallix? She knew already that he's a special kid, but special in what way?
"Very well," Evelyn said finally. "Kallix, you may stay. But please, remain quiet and observe."
Kallix nodded, his eyes never leaving Lady Eleanor's face. Lady Eleanor's gaze returned to Evelyn, her expression expectant.
"Now, Your Majesty," Lady Eleanor said, her voice polite. "About the question I asked, I must say that you have to be truthful in every way with me."
Evelyn's eyes darted to Kallix, then back to Lady Eleanor. She nodded finally, willing to let it all out.
But Eleanor knew that it was just by luck that she agreed to share with her honestly.
"I... think it's best if I tell you," Evelyn said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. She still didn't want the people in the palace to know that she was having the same dream as them.
"There's been a dark and malevolent spirit in this kingdom. I've felt it watching me, following me, and always appearing whenever I sleep. The beast always try to fight with me, as if wanting to gift me something."
Lady Eleanor's expression didn't change, but her eyes seemed to gleam with a newfound understanding of the situation. Gift her something, something like what?
A person that wants to gift you wouldn't duel with you because the person will fear that you might end up dying.
"I see," she said. "And what do you think this presence is?" She kept the flow of the revelation. If she could reveal more of what she thought of the beast, she might he able to lay her hands on which kind it is.
Evelyn hesitated, her eyes flicking to Kallix again. But Lady Eleanor's gaze was insistent, and she seemed to know that Evelyn was hiding something.
The look on Kallix's face told her to keep going. He was perfectly fine with hearing her. Unlike every other kid, her doubt increased seeing the kid's reaction.
“Whenever he climbs over me, the beast tried to pour out something from its mouth. But before he could, I always wake up and then see it disappearing in the real world.”
The room was silent for a long while, with Eleanor and Kallix contemplating on what tmit could be. While Evelyn and Damien only kept staring at the two, trying to figure out which creature it could be.
"I think it's... a ghost beast," Kallix said finally, breaking the odd silence in the room. His eyes was dearly fixed on Eleanor as if trying to find out what was on her mind as well.
"A creature from the spirit realm, one that's been awakened by something in the kingdom.” Eleanor continued the realization downing on her.
Lady Eleanor's eyes locked onto Evelyn's, her gaze piercing. "I believe you," she said. "And I think I know how to deal with it."
Kallix's eyes lit up with a sudden idea. "We need to... flush it out," he said, his voice filled with determination. "We need to do something to make it show itself, so we can understand what we're dealing with."
Evelyn was surprised with the different suggestions he made. He seemed to be well informed about these things. Is he one of them?
But if he is truly one of them he wouldn't want to reveal their secret. She dismissed the doubt once again with that.
Lady Eleanor's gaze turned to Kallix, her expression thoughtful. "I agree," she said. "But we need to be careful. We don't know what kind of power this beast possesses."
Eleanor nodded, her eyes wide with concern. But her earlier fear was beginning to fade away like it was never there. With Kallix around, she felt some kind of peace seeing one of her kind. One she could always look up to when she's confused.
"What did you have in mind, Kallix?"
Kallix thought for a moment, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I think I can... sense its presence better if it's close. If we can create a... disturbance, it might react and reveal itself."
Why does this little boy serm to have so many years of knowledge? Ones she hadn't ever had. He seemed to be a reincarnation of someone. This was hardly common, but it could happen in their lineage.
Coming back to their earlier discussion, she asked with her eyes narrowed. "What kind of disturbance?"
There were so many kind of disturbance to the evil spirit, but they needed one that will be Powerful enough to draw the ghost beast's attention and show its presence.
Kallix's gaze met hers, a hint of excitement in his eyes. Everytime he speaks, it's either he have the look of determination on his face, playfully or excitement.
This seemed exactly like when you have the knowledge of someone else but happy to be making use of the knowledge in someone's body.
Was Kallix possesed?
Kallix continued. "Something that will draw out its power. A ritual, perhaps, or a demonstration of our own abilities."
Evelyn's face paled. "Are you sure that's wise? We don't know what we're dealing with."
She's heard of how powerful ritual has on evil spirits. So if they should perform one, wouldn't anyone get hurt, especially in a palace filled with different kinds of people from different relatives.
However Kallix's determination was clear, confident in what he had said. "We need to know what we're up against," he said. "And I think this is the best way to find out."
He no longer sounded childish, but full of knowledge.
Lady Eleanor nodded, her expression resolute. "Let's do it. We'll prepare a ritual to draw out the beast. But we need to be prepared for anything."
Anything like a sudden death or like the beast possessing everyone in the palace?
