CHAPTER 9 – THE ONE WITH OLD SONGS 1.4
"Oh, that's enough. Let it be, we'll get a clearer picture of what happened when Luna catches that killer. For now, let's eat. We're all chattering, the soup's getting cold," said Mama, who was able to break through the heavy aura around her because of the topic.
"Are you still going to eat?" asked mom who immediately spooned Riley some rice even though she didn't ask.
"Auntie! I'm on a diet. Don't fill me up like that," Riley complained when mom put more and more rice on her plate.
"Please stop, Riley. You've been saying that for years but you still eat a lot. You're just on a diet in words." Mama teased Riley who didn't do anything. "You too, Luna, eat more so you have the strength to cope." She added, then served Luna some rice.
"Thank you, aunt."
After putting the two of them in, he put the rice in mine, and I barely finished half of my rice.
"You too, eat a lot, so you won't be seen on messenger." he told me.
The two of them laughed because of what mom said, but I just frowned.
"What's the connection?" I asked my naughty mother, laughing.
"Nothing. Do you want a connection? Or rather, eat a lot so that whatever you're hiding around your neck will disappear immediately." he said.
Riley laughed again with a spiteful laugh and Luna just shook her head. Like the other two, I couldn't help but eat the huge amount of rice that mom had put in. You thought I was serving unli rice to someone who was being rude.
We continued chatting about various topics until after we finished eating. It's really different when you're eating with your family. Even if you're chatting during the meal, it still feels comfortable.
I suddenly remembered Thera. She often ate alone and was often locked in her room. I thought, people usually open up about what happened during their day or what was currently happening in their lives when they were at the table. Is Thera, does she talk to anyone about her life?
Has she even shared anything that's going on with her? It seems like she doesn't have any friends and she's just always in meetings and out of town. All about work. Even her siblings she rarely talks to. There's a part of me that wants to get closer to her. Just so she can at least have someone to talk to.
So that he can at least feel that someone wants to listen to him. So that he doesn't end up like those people who lose their way completely because they feel like they're alone in life. I know for myself that it's impossible to lose that path.
She's a very intelligent and proper woman. She's not the type of person that will do anything stupid that could totally ruin her reputation. But still...
She's still a human being even though sometimes it seems like she's not. She also needs someone she can talk to. So moving forward...I'll try to approach her more.
I think we're okay.
Right?
\-Third Person's Point of View-
In an area surrounded by towering trees, a black car was currently driving down the dark road.
Only the car lights and the moon will serve as light on the road.
It's the dead of the night and there's no other vehicle in the area but the black Toyota Corolla.
A man was lying on the floor of the car, in the back. The man had just regained consciousness and was slowly opening his tired eyes.
(~Music playing~)
~I know (I know)
You belong to somebody new But tonight you belong to me~
~Although (Although) we're apart You're a part of my heart
And tonight you belong to me~
Before the man could even open his eyes, his attention was drawn to the song playing inside the car. The song was unfamiliar to him, but he knew it was an old-fashioned tune because of its melody.
The man tried to raise his hands to rub his partially open eyes, but he was stunned when he felt he couldn't move his hands. Because of that, he quickly widened his eyes completely.
It was as if cold water had been poured over him when he looked around and realized that he was lying on the floor of the car. In addition, his eyes immediately caught sight of the two other people with him in the back of the car. Two people who were just like him earlier, both unconscious.
But unlike him who was lying on the floor, these two were unconscious in the car seats with their hands tied with thick rope. It was only then that he realized that even though his hands were tied behind his back, he couldn't move them.
~Wait down by the stream
How sweet it will seem
Once more just to dream In the moonlight~
If it weren't for the loud music playing inside the car, the driver would have probably heard her nervous breathing. His feelings of fear and anxiety only worsened when he noticed the object resting on the car seat.
A shrub of a purple flower...a shrub of lilac.
He almost peed in his pants because of the level of fear he was feeling. His feet were not tied and his mouth was not covered, only his hands were tied, but it seemed that the fear that enveloped his entire being paralyzed him.
The flower that was now in front of him was familiar to him. How could you not be familiar with the flower that is always in the news because it is what police often find on the bodies of victims of the feared serial killer. The moonlight lilac...
~My honey I know (I know)
With the dawn that you will be gone But tonight you belong to me~
The music didn't help his situation because it only added to his fear. The man's tears gradually fell because he knew what could happen and he also knew to himself what he had done that caused him to end up in this situation.
