Mila's POV
Felicia glared at me angrily but kept a passive expression.
"Sorry, but I only wanted to prepare it for Alpha Adrian," she said, making sure to emphasize the only.
I rolled my eyes at her.
Adrian finished eating and dropped his fork gently. "Thank you for the meal. It was nice, really," he complimented and stood up.
"I'm glad you like it," Felicia said.
Why was she trying so hard to be cute?
"I'll be on my way now. I have things to handle," Adrian said and walked out, not without giving me a warning glance.
I wasn't sure what he was warning me about, but I had a hunch it had something to do with me not causing trouble.
"So. Can we go to the garden and talk things out?" Felicia asked, still keeping a smile on her face as there were maids around.
"Let's go," I said dropping my fork on the table. I was full already and couldn't stuff my face anymore. I stood up and trailed behind her.
We entered the garden and sat down. She touched a couple of flowers without saying anything, only nodding her head in affirmation. She turned to me and smiled at me, handing me a rose.
"You know a rose flower right?" she asked, her piercing gaze making me uncomfortable.
"Yes. Everyone knows roses," I responded, not the least interested in what she was saying.
"Well, of course," she laughed.
"Okay...." I mouthed.
"You see, the rose is so beautiful and elegant. It symbolizes love and affection," she spoke.
Why was she saying all these things? I don't even care.
"Well, even though the rose is beautiful, it has thorns," she continued.
I seem to be getting the point now. She's trying to pass a message to me. And with the sound of her voice, I could already tell I wouldn't like what she was going to say to me.
"Cut the chase," I scoffed.
She laughed.
"Well, that would be better," she began. "Leave the Palace,"
I stared at her for a few seconds, trying to see if there was anything that suggested she was joking. Of course, I knew Felicia wouldn't joke about something like this, but the thought of her having the audacity to say something like this, made me wish she was joking. She also stared at me with such determination. She didn't flinch or blink.
"You're joking right?" I still managed to ask, despite trying so hard not to laugh.
"What part of my sentence suggested that I would want to make you laugh?" she questioned sternly.
"Ok. So why would I leave the Palace?" I probed.
"Because you aren't wanted here," she countered.
"Needed by who?" I asked
"Anyone. So you think Adrian would go for someone like you?" she teased.
"What is wrong with me? Why won't he go for someone like me?" I questioned.
"The question should be, why would he want you? You have absolutely nothing to offer him,’’ she whispered
"And you have?" I countered back.
"I have power. I can make him more respected by the people. But you are just some lost and found. Ifax hadn't picked you up from the pack's boundary, you would have been probably raped and thrown away into whatever lagoon," she responded, taking pride in her words.
I swallowed hard, my comeback melting on the tip of my tongue.
"Wath what you say," I sternly warned.
"Or what?" she glared at me with hate.
"You know. I have no idea why you chose to hate me so much," I said.
"Well, as a matter of fact, I do," she admitted.
"I know," I snapped
"You want to know why?" she whispered harshly.
"My pleasure," I replied
"Things were going fine between me and Adrian. I had planned the best confession scene, I had made sure it was going to execute as planned. All I needed was a little flower to go with it,'' she started.
I was already starting to see where this was headed.
"And then, there I was, picking the flowers that I was going to use to make my confession. Then this girl walked up to me and offered to help. Me, being myself, I decided to believe this girl and even told her about my crush. I took her to my crush, only for my crush to be the man she was seducing," she continued.
I scoffed
"Seduce? I never seduced him," I defended.
"Oh really. So it was a coincidence that you both missed breakfast?" she accused
"What was it supposed to be? Planned?" I asked.
"Not my words," she raised her hands.
"Is this what you called me out here for?" I asked.
"What else do I have to say to you?" she asked.
"Well, you could have started by apologizing for spiking someone else's food and putting the blame on me," I yelled
"And who says I did?" she frowned.
"We both know you were the culprit," I said
"The maid confessed, didn't she?" she spoke, biting her nails.
"Spare me all that. We both know that you put her up to that," I accused
"And if I did? What would you do?" she threatened.
"Are you admitting that you did it?" I asked, feeling the urge to smack her face.
She nodded.
"You are shameless," I spat.
"I know. But you are helpless. Even if you decide to tell Adrian or anyone else, who do you think they'd believe? The daughter of the Gemma, or a lost wolf found by the pack boundary?" she asked, playing with her hair.
I felt the hair on my body stand in anger.
"You won't get away with it," I snapped.
"Oh. But I already did. And until you decide to leave Adrian alone, more harm will come your way," she said.
"You think I'm scared?" I scoffed.
"Oh. But I think you should," she warned.
"I dare you to do your worst," I boasted.
"Just watch out for what is going to come," she said
"Or you can just name your price, I'll pay you, then leave the pack," she said
"Well, you're pouring water on a rock then. I won't go,'' I sa
id.
"Then I guess this won't hurt you," she said and raised her hand.
