I
It is their second day in Sydney, Australia and they are getting along well. Lexus is very gentleman, thoughtful, protective, and caring. He could even be an ideal man but Daffodil is trying to close her eyes as she does not want to be involved seriously yet with any man.
But the mate pull between them is too strong that Daffodil in the end just gave in from denying the attraction she has with Lexus. They became closer to each other.
Tonight after having their dinner in a waterfront restaurant at the Harbor Cruises from Circular Quay, they decided to take a little walk to stroll along the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
“It is very relaxing here Lexus; people seemed to be carefree and oblivious of any pandemic or crisis around.” Daffodil said as they strolled along the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
“Yes, I noticed too.” Lexus nodded and then asked, “How about in Los Angeles?”
“Oh I have not noticed; I am more on work than fun for the whole years that I started to handle our businesses.”
Lexus shook his head, “You should enjoy life Daffodil, you are still too young to overburden yourself with businesses.”
Daffodil merely laughed at Lexus. “If you are the only heir of a business tycoon, you can never do that.”
“You can if you will allow yourself to do it.” Lexus’ short reply but very meaningful. He put his arm around Daffodil’s shoulders as they continue to enjoy strolling around.
Every time Lexus put his arm around her shoulders, Daffodil would usually feel so secure and she just forget any fear that she has.

Daffodil woke up the next day with a light feeling. She got up quickly and walked outside of her bedroom. There was no Lexus in the living room, neither in the kitchen part of the suite. She tried to listen inside the comfort and shower room, but everything was silent.
“Where is he?” she murmured puzzled. She got a mug and made her black coffee to sip before taking her shower and keeping all her things. Their flight is eleven o’clock in the morning, so they need to leave the hotel by at least eight-thirty in the morning.
After thirty minutes, Lexus came back.
“Where did you go?” Daffodil exclaimed when she saw him enter their suite’s main door.
“Just arranged for our cab to go to the airport.” Lexus simply answered as he sat across Daffodil on the small round dining table.
Daffodil looked at him and just nodded in reply. In her thoughts, she wondered why Lexus should do that. He could have merely dialed the phone and have spoken to the receptionist to request an arrangement for their cab to go to the airport. She just however shrugged her shoulders and did not think much more about it.
“Lexus, I will just take a bath, keep my things and we will go. Please ready yourself too.” Daffodil said as she excused herself from Lexus and walked inside her room. She will take a bath in the shower room inside so that Lexus could use the shower room near the kitchen area.
Lexus nodded and followed her back with his eyes showing a flicker of sadness and longing. He shook his head a little trying to clear whatever was inside his mind. He took a shower and readied himself for their travel to the airport.
“So are you okay now? Ready Lexus?” Daffodil asked him with a glowing look. She got inside her room with traveling bags in her hands.
“Yeah, I am ready Daffodil,” he said while taking a few steps toward Daffodil. He got her traveling bags and carried them all the way down to the ground floor. Lexus did not wait for the hotel’s Bell boy to help them with their luggage. He thought it would be best to just inform the reception staff that they are checking out when they are already in front of them.
Their checking-out ran smoothly and without any problem so by around eight twenty in the morning, they are already in their booked cab travelling to the Sydney International Airport.
“We arrived early Lexus; it is only a quarter to nine in the morning.” Daffodil said smiling as she checked on her wristwatch.
Lexus nodded, “It is better so than to be late. Come on let us checked-in for your luggage.”
“No need to worry about that Lexus, I made it online already.” Daffodil smiled showing to him her mobile phone. “Let us just drop them -off at the designated desk for luggage dropping,” she added.
After dropping off their luggage, they just waited for their boarding at the waiting area until passengers for their flight have been called for boarding.
Lexus stood up and assisted Daffodil. They boarded the plane.
“This is your seat Daffodil,” Lexus said pointing to the seat where he was standing beside.
“We will be seating beside each other right? It was in our arranged seat.” Daffodil asked smiling.
Lexus looked at Daffodil sadly. “Supposedly Daffodil I will be seating beside you; however, I will not be traveling with you going to Los Angeles,” he said softly but it was like a bomb to Daffodil.
“What? Are you kidding me? You said you will be coming with me to Los Angeles?” She exclaimed confused.
“I’m sorry Daffodil; something came up and I need to return to our village soonest. We can communicate ‘though; you have my mobile number and I have yours too. Don’t worry, once I settled everything in our village; I will follow you in Los Angeles.” Lexus explained with sadness evident in his eyes.
Daffodil nodded without uttering any word.
“Take care of yourself Daffodil. I just want to see you safe until you boarded the plane that’s why only now that I told you about it. I know, you will not allow me anymore to accompany you here if you have known ahead of time that I need to return to our village soonest.”
She nodded again. “Thank you. Take care of yourself too Lexus.” Sadness was evident on her face.
“Goodbye for now Sweetheart.” Lexus gave her a quick kiss on her forehead, turned around, and walked towards the aircraft’s door, without looking back. He did not want to look back because if he will, he might not be able to leave Daffodil anymore. He needed to be away from her for a while to protect her more.
Suddenly, longing hit Daffodil’s heart as she followed his back with her eyes until he went out of the plane’s door.
