Locked Away.
Chapter 81:
Kaya's pov.
A cold shiver ran down my spine, my skin getting covered in goosebumps. The bone chilling laughter from men in a distant greeted my ear drums forcefully, causing my eyes to flip open.
My breath was fast and heavy, my eyes searching the room for any possible clue as to where I was. The hoarse laughter from a distant filled my ears again and I let out a painful grunt.
Where am I?
I found myself lying on a cemented floor, the dust and musty stench of the place filling my nostrils. Beside me was a tiny bed, covered with a while blanket and a single pillow lying on it. On the far right of the bed, a dirty, old sink structure was standing, the sight of it causing me to gag.
Lifting my head up, a very old ceiling fan was handing above me, looking so wretched that I thought it was going to fall on me.
“What is this place?” I muttered, touching my forehead.
The laughter came again and I turned to check where it was como from only to find metal bars in front of me. My eyes widened and my mouth hung open in pure shock.
“What's happening?” I muttered to myself as I approached the metal bars. I pulled on them but they were heavy and a large key had been used to bolt them from outside.
“Excuse me! Is anyone there!? Please let me out of here!” I screamed, vigorously pulling the bars with all of my strength.
“Elior..”
My whole body instantly became weak when the memories of what happened earlier started to pour in. Elior was snatched from me and I was thrown into a dark van. That was all I could recall. I don't remember being thrown into a prison.
“My baby!” My breath siezed and my hands trembled. How many hours has it been? Is my baby alive? What if they killed him or just dumped him somewhere? How will my poor child survive without me? No food, no water, no warmth!
The more I thought about it, the more painful my headache grew and the more I was losing my mind.
My world had crashed right in front of my eyes, I have no purpose to live if Elior is gone! I have failed him as his mother, I couldn't even protect him.
Tears poured down my cheeks uncontrollably, and I found myself on the floor, wailing and calling out my child's name. I couldn't bare to think about what he must be going through all alone.
First, I brought him into this world to suffer, he was born into a world of pain and now, he's going to have a painful death!
I can't even imagine it, the thought of it alone drove me insane. Before long, I was crying and throwing myself around the room helplessly, aching to see my child.
“My baby!” I wailed, gathering the strength to stand again. I went to the bars and started to hit, shake and kick them, making as much noise as I could to attract the attention of the men who were laughing outside.
“Help!! Help me please! Please!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, using all of my energy to hit the bars.
After a few minutes, I heard the main doors creak open and I knew I had succeeded in getting their attention. I stopped hitting the bars and stood there, sniffing and waiting for someone to show up.
Two men entered and stood in front of my cell, they each had an intimidating physique, and their faces lacked emotions. I gulped, struggling to find my voice to speak to them.
“Why are you creating a ruckus?” The brown haired man asked, his voice was deep and daunting.
“Please.. I need my baby, I need to see my child please.” I placed my palms in front of me, tears pouring down my cheeks. They did not look concerned in any way. If anything, they were annoyed.
“Who is she?” The white haired man asked, scoffing.
“She's the one who killed Umar. Axel has instructed us to lock her up until he decides her fate.” Brown hair answered, throwing dirty looks at me.
“You can do whatever you want with me,” I continued. “But please, please just give me my baby. He won't last a day out there without me.” I pleaded but their eyes lacked any ounce of hope.
“If you really killed Umar, then I'm afraid there's no way you're getting out of here, at least not alive.” White hair chuckled.
No..! Moon goddess! You can't let this happen to me!
“Please! Please! I'll do anything to have my baby! Please just give him back to me!” I wailed, going on my knees instantly, but that did not move them either.
Instead of helping me, they threw lustful glares at me, white hair making tne first move by touching my boobs. I shuddered and moved away, my heart racing inside my chest.
“The things I want to do to you!” He looked almost ravenous.
“But unfortunately, only Axel has a right over you.” He added and they walked out. As soon as those doors shut, my hope vanished. I felt life slowly sipping awsy from me. Elior's cries were still fresh in my memory, his scent being the only thing left for me to remember him by.
Barely thirty minutes later, I heard the doors open again and I thought Axel was back. My thoughts went all over the place as I wondered what he was going to do with me.
I refused to move, waiting for whoever it was to speak.
“Kaya..” a tiny voice called out in a whisper and I got goosebumps immediately, I recognized the voice.
I turned quickly, and my eyes fell on Tessa's form. She looked terrible! Her clothes were torn, her hair was nothing to write home about and her face covered in dirt. She was weak, her body resting on the bars.
“What happened? How did you sneak in here?” I asked, grabbing her hand and stroking it lovingly.
“I followed in another carriage and waited for the right time to come out.” She answered and I almost cried again. She's risking her own life for me!
“I also saw them taking Elior, I know where he is.”
My eyes widened.
“Really? Where!?”
“Hush Kaya.. don't make a sound. I'll get you out and we'll go get him.”
I nodded my head and she popped out a bobby pin.
