Chapter 176 DESPERATE LOVERS ROXY
Chapter 176 DESPERATE LOVERS ROXY
"Can’t believe he threw me out of his house. Can you imagine?” I snapped, seething as I paced around the living room.
Ariel sat there, engrossed in her phone.
“I told you to let go of him. But you refused—”
“Don’t say that to me!” I cut in, interrupting Ariel. “It's all your fault. If you hadn't shown Blackthorn my apartment, he wouldn't have come back to me. You have no idea how hurtful this is.”
“Come on, girl. I said I was sorry.” Ariel raised her gaze.
“Oh, that's all I could ever get. Sorry.”
“Why are you sounding this way? I told you. Blackthorn followed me. He threatened to kill me if I didn't show him where you lived.” Ariel almost cried as she explained.
She was right. Blackthorn would have killed her if she hadn't shown him my residence.
He’s a bloody monster.
Sighing, I walked back to the couch and fell onto it.
Ariel turned toward me, her voice softening.
“Roxy, you have to take it easy on yourself.” I felt Ariel's soft hands on my shoulders.
“I love him,” I muttered, tears brimming in my eyes.
I couldn't stand yesterday's humiliation. The way Leo threw me out was really embarrassing.
I couldn't stand the look in Sarah's eyes.
Gosh. I feel ashamed.
“I think you should get your mind off Leo, Roxy. Move on with your life.”
“I can't move on.” I wiped my eyes. “You haven't been in love before, right?” I asked her.
Her shoulders slumped. She suddenly fell silent.
“It’s hard trying to let go, especially when you love the person dearly,” I muttered softly.
“Do you think that's the same issue with me right now?” She lifted her face to mine.
“What do you mean?” I asked. I knew Ariel wasn't in any serious relationship.
Despite the flock of males fawning around her, she chose only to play around with them without giving any of them her heart.
“Did anything change, baby girl?” My voice cracked.
She gasped. “I think I now understand what loving someone is all about.” Her voice broke.
I looked at her at once. I'm glad she now understands what loving someone truly means.
She found someone, and I don't know about him?
“Who’s he?” I rushed out, almost out of breath.
My tears had all dried up, though I could never get over the pain of losing someone like Leo.
“I found myself so drawn to him lately that I can't let go. I thought it was all for fun.” Her shoulders slumped as she spoke in a weak voice. “Is this what love is all about?”
“Yes, baby.” I fixed her hair. “That's what love is all about. You keep thinking about him nonstop. You keep wishing to be with the person.”
“It’s not the same for him. He's happy without me. He isn’t taking my calls either,” she replied coldly.
“Oh dear.” I hugged her. “Who's he?”
She kept silent for a while before speaking again.
“It's him.”
“Who?” I repeated. “The German guy?”
She rolled her eyes weakly.
“No.”
“Then who? Frank?”
“Not him either,” she said.
“Is he a new catch then?” I asked again.
“No.” She raised her gaze to me. “It's Jason.”
My brows furrowed.
“Jason?” I tried to remember which Jason she was talking about. “You mean Sienna's ex-boyfriend?”
She nodded without saying anything. Her sudden confirmation made anger grow inside me.
“You can't love him,” I snapped angrily.
“Why can't I love him?” She looked at me curiously.
“Because he's an enemy. Do you even know he was also involved with Blackthorn? He's Blackthorn's little lad.” My teeth gritted.
“Yeah... I'm aware,” she said.
“Is that all you can say?” I stood up.
“What else do you want me to say?” She raised her voice. “Everything's messed up already.”
“Yes... that's why you should back off because I'm not done dealing with him. He's graduated, right?”
“What’s your problem with Jason? Why not face Sienna and leave the young man alone?” She confronted me.
“I can't let him be. As long as I'm not happy, his life will also remain a mess.”
She scoffed. “Oh, so what are you going to do?”
I gave a bitter laugh. “You know what I did to him the last time.”
“You mean the video saga?” She gave me a mocking look.
“Isn’t that enough to ruin someone's life? Especially for someone like Jason, who's so perfect.”
“Leave Jason alone, Roxy. He's not the cause of your problems,” she gritted through her teeth.
“But he tried to deal with Leo, my boyfriend,” I replied, pissed.
She gave a dry, humorless laugh.
“Leo isn't your boyfriend anymore, Roxy. Why can't you move on?” she said.
“No, I think you should be the one to move on from Sienna's boyfriend,” I retorted.
“He’s her ex now, and I'm his present,” she replied firmly.
From everything I was seeing, I wasn't sure Ariel was ready to move on from Jason. That made blood rush furiously through my veins.
Arrgh!
“I’m warning you now, honey. Leave Jason.”
“No, Roxy,” she challenged. “In my opinion, you should be the one leaving Leo. Do you think he would choose you over Sienna?” She gave that dry laugh again.
“What?” My lips parted.
“Yes, honey. Leo said it himself. His heart belongs to her alone. He's willing to wait for her even if it takes forever.
“So, I advise you to take your eyes off him instead of transferring your aggression onto Jason, who has nothing to do with this.”
She walked away to her room.
I froze.
My legs trembled too.
I gently sat back on the couch.
Leo's willing to wait for Sienna even if it takes forever?
Is that it?
Was this the reason he had completely refused to take me back into his life no matter how hard I tried?
I see it now.
It's been her all along.
I was wrong all this while.
I thought he was done with her and was only trying to pull himself together.
Ariel just opened my eyes.
She just made me understand that Leo's heart still beats for Sienna.
He never mentioned her name after she moved away from his house.
And I thought it was all over between them.
How foolish.
I should have known all of this from the beginning.
That Leo wasn't going to let go of her any time soon.
My pain increased.
Does it mean I have lost Leo to Sienna forever?
How unbelievable.
For a moment, my mind became blank, devoid of any thoughts except pain—excruciating pain.
After a while, Ariel walked back into the living room.
I became steady again.
Ariel was on a call with someone, and her voice broke while she spoke.
Maybe it's Jason.
I could hear her begging to be loved.
I stood up and walked to my room.
I needed a quiet atmosphere to think.
If Leo's still after Sienna, then I should focus on getting rid of her completely.
I can't let her win this war.
Never.
She must pay with her blood.
I don't care anymore.
I'll do whatever it takes to ensure they never end up together.
