“Why are you so quiet?” I asked.

“Just thinking about some things,” she said, still looking at the glass.

“You never shut up, so something is very wrong,” I said.

Cecília turned her head slowly towards me, in her eyes I noticed a different glow, a kind of shadow, and look what shadow I understand.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” I questioned.

“I'm so tired of always thinking about others, thinking about whether I'm going to hurt them or not, today I want to think only about myself. How about we forget everything, our entire past and current present, and focus on just the two of us today, without any obstacles, without anyone in our midst?” she said.

I've known Cecília for a while and she always manages to get the words out of me, but this time she was right on target, it was all I wanted, to forget the world and be alone with her, at least today.

“I’m game,” I said and she smiled.

It seems that after our little conversation everything changed, it was as if a weight had been lifted from our shoulders, the air was lighter and the conversation was more fluid.

We arrived at one of my favorite clubs, it wasn't open yet as it was early, but it was open for us. I chose the furthest place from everyone when it opens only a few people will have a view of us and that won't be for long.

“So what do you want to drink?” I asked.

“Double whiskey without ice and a shot of tonic water,” she said.

“Wow, your tastes have changed a lot,” I said and she smiled.

I got up and went to the bar to order, when I came back she was sitting cross-legged staring at me throughout my walk.

“You can't look at me like that, at least not if you don't want me to grab you now,” I said, placing the glass in front of her.

“Who said I don’t want you to grab me now?” she said and bit her lip.

She knows how to tease me and I like that.
