Dominick

Dominick

I don't know if I was calm or scared by Antônio's idea, I can't deny that it was simply tempting, it would end all our problems at once, but I don't know if I would be open to sharing it easily, not after the afternoon that we went through everything I know we felt for each other together.
All I wanted was to have the strength to think about my work, which was a priority, but since Cecília arrived my thoughts have been lost, only for her, today I would risk my life to receive another shipment and I haven't been able to concentrate since the afternoon we spent together.
So I decided to go out, nothing like a shot of whiskey to calm down. I don't know if fate was testing my patience or punishing me, because Cecília was exactly in my path when she left.
“Cecilia?” I called her, causing her to have a little fright.
“You scared me,” she said with her hand on her heart.
“What are you doing here alone?” I questioned.
“Well, I'm trying to be alone, but in this house, it's almost impossible, and you brutally won't let me leave without one of those,” she said sadly.
“Um, I know what it’s like,” she said.
“But you have your office where you can be alone as much as you want, whereas I have nothing,” she said.
“I can't be alone since the moment I met you, you're always in my thoughts, in my heart and besides, you're not alone, you have me and Antônio too, just open your eyes,” I said.
“Thank you, but I don’t want to play with anyone’s feelings, I swear I don’t like them both for bad reasons. This feeling of doing the wrong thing is suffocating me more every day. I need to get out of here as quickly as I can,” she said.
I think I turned on automatic mode, because, in the blink of an eye, I advanced on her, lifting her from the ground where she was and placing her against one of my cars that was in the garage. She seemed scared to me, but she didn't say a word, just stared at me.
“You came back into our lives and you’re not leaving it, we don’t give you the choice to leave, do you understand?” I spoke.
“Are you telling me I’m your prisoner?” she asked irritably.
“If it stops you from leaving, then you are,” I said.
“This is crazy Dominick, I can't keep them both, and you can't keep me here either,” she said and tried to get out of my grip.
“I'm the boss of the mafia cara mia, I can do anything and I'll have no problem sharing you with him as long as you don't leave here,” she said.
She looked at me horrified for a few seconds, I don't know what she was thinking, it probably wasn't a good thing.
“When your eyes change like that you scare me. Can you let me go?” I said only then did I notice that she was shaking not from pleasure but from fear.
I loosened my grip on her, I didn't want to see her scared, but when she said she was leaving I completely lost my calm.
“I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. But when you mention the fact that you want to leave, you completely take away my calm,” I was honest.
“Can you get me out of here, I need a drink,” she said and I looked suspiciously. “I’m not going to run away Dominick, I just want to have a drink in a quiet place, just you and me.”
I had exactly the perfect spot for it, she certainly wouldn't run away from me today. I would have her in my arms again, better yet, in my lap.
