It wasn't easy to stay firm after Cecília left, it wasn't easy having to take over the reins of the entire mafia after my brother got lucky, and to top it off it hasn't been easy dating Camille, and now after everything has been sorted out she decides to come back.
That encounter had already affected me a lot but I thought it wasn't him anymore and now she's here at my house and she even saw me kissing her best friend, the situation got complicated. I tried to talk to her, but she didn't open the door for me and when I looked for her now she had gone out with Dominick, I wasn't surprised that they met first. All I don't want is to start all that over again, the fights, the disputes, ending up falling out with my brother again now that we were doing so well, but knowing that she left with him and didn't talk to me before left me devastated.
My relationship with Camille is a friendship with some benefits, we tolerate it, but the sex is good, and since we have started this commitment we have no reason not to enjoy it, at least that's what I thought until now.
I want to sit down with Cecília and explain my side of the story, even if she never speaks to me again, I just want the chance to tell her why I'm with Camille. I want her to understand how much I suffered when I left her in that hotel room alone, how much I wanted to go back, how much I wanted to abandon everything again, but that was no longer possible since I had taken my brother's place. , both from the mafia and in the engagement.
It wasn't an easy choice, but seeing how destroyed Dominick was after she left, made me understand that he loved her so much and that at that moment he needed his brother and not another enemy, otherwise he would end up killing us both. I had to impose myself through spilled blood and face Camille's father, that man is a dog, but I managed to bend him and he ended up accepting the arrangement.
Every day things got better and more organized until at one point Dominick finally came to his senses and returned to his position as Dom and I and his right-hand man. He is no longer the same, now he is much worse with his enemies, he is killing without even interrogating them, which does not help us at all and I fear that everything will get worse again now.
“Antonio,” I heard Camille call and looked toward the door. "Can I talk to you?"
"Yes of course!" I said and she entered.
“I spoke to Cecília,” she said, coming around the table and sitting on my lap.
"How it was?" I asked.
“Better than I thought, but she's still hurt,” she said.
“She didn’t want to talk to me,” I said and sighed.
“She told me she doesn't want to talk to you right now, and I would like you to respect that stance,” he said.
“But with Nick she not only talked, she went out with him,” I said and closed my hands into fists.
“Wait a few days and try again,” she said.
“I'll try,” he said and she was gone.
I wouldn't be able to, I definitely wouldn't be able to go without talking to her.
“Sir,” I heard one of my men.
“Speak,” he said.
“You asked me to let you know as soon as they arrived,” she said.
“Thank you,” I said.
I got up and went to the front door to wait for them. I wanted to look at their faces. I expected a lot, but what I didn't expect was for them to leave like that, laughing as if they had been friends for years. The sight angered me so much that I struggled to remain calm.
"Had fun?" I asked.
“It was very enlightening,” she said.
“What do you hear, Antônio, why are you waiting for us?” she asked.
I moved my eyes to Cecília and addressed her.
“We need to talk,” she said.
“Okay,” she said. “Thanks for the afternoon, Dominick, we’ll talk more later.”
Cecília accompanied me to the pool house that was our love nest.
“It feels like forever since I've been here,” she said as she entered.
“It looks like it,” I said, walking past her and smelling her hair. The same smell of strawberries.
“Who lives here now?” she questioned.
“After you left I moved here, I haven't been able to leave here since then,” I said and sat on the couch. “I wanted to explain why I left you alone.”
“I don't need to know, Antonio, maybe it's even better that I don't know,” she said, still standing.
“I couldn't stay with you, I had to go back, Dominick was freaking out, completely crazy, I had to take the reins, but there with you I almost gave up everything,” I explained.
“Everything was so difficult, and coming back here has not been easy at all. I don’t want to stay here, but it feels like I have to,” she said.
“How do you feel about my brother?” I played fair.
