Chapter Twenty-Nine : Red

"Why are you here?" Aphrodite coldly asked as Caspian entered the room on the Black Moon's highest floor.

"Your people weren't supposed to be on the West port last night. The contract clearly stated the snakes wouldn't invade the West port anymore," Caspian answered calmly.

Aphrodite toyed with the round paperweight on the table as her eyes glowed. She got up from her assigned place in her puffed sleeves, floral midi dress, barely appearing as a high schooler than a CEO.

"Contract? What kind of contract do you expect to exist after humiliating me in front of the world?'' Aphrodite questioned, getting close to Caspian. Even in her high-heeled shoes, she barely reached Caspian's chest, raising her head to meet Caspian's eyes.

Caspian exhaled awkwardly, shoving his hands into his pocket.

"I can't fathom your words. The contract clearly said the wolves and the snakes wouldn't meddle with each other's business. Yet, your people breached the contract first. We lost two hundred million because of them," Caspian said, coldly staring at Aphrodite.

"Did the contract also state you could humiliate your fiance in the debut ball by asking another woman for the first dance?" Aphrodite asked back. "How can you even think of our wedding after what you did yesterday?"

Caspian's eyes narrowed as he calmly said, "You wished for this marriage to build peace among the packs. Why are you pretending as if there's any emotion attached? Besides, I don't recall any memory of you falling for me to get you jealous if I dance with another woman.''

Aphrodite clenched Caspian's shirt near his chest, pulling him close to her and forcing him to lean down as their eyes met.

"Whether or not there's any emotional attachment present, you shouldn't forget that you belong to me. If your pack wishes for this peace contract to exist, you must behave while I am considering not nullifying this," Aphrodite warned coldly.

Aphrodite clenched Caspian's jaw as her sharp nails dug deep into Caspian's cheeks, cutting his soft skin that healed right away.

There was a time when he would get amused by this roughness. Aphrodite's boldness behind her charming appearance would entice him from his core. However, at that moment, Aphrodite's eyes appeared cold as a snake's to Caspian.

Caspian shoved Aphrodite's hand away and calmly answered, "Both of us can choose to go to any extent if the pack faces danger. That's what the contract mentioned."

Caspian fixed his tie, getting away from Aphrodite. "How could I let my Master lose his face in his granddaughter's debut? If such a situation appears again, I won't hesitate to do the same. You are free to breach the marriage if you wish," Caspian said, leaving the chamber as Aphrodite squeezed her hands into fists.

A message entered Caspian's phone as he left the Black Moon company's building.

"What the hell is she doing there?'' Caspian mumbled, clenching his fists. Within a glimpse, he rushed to his car, driving it at full speed.

"So, she followed you here for real? Is she stupid?" the man in glasses questioned skeptically.

It wasn't long since the thugs brought me to this port area. I had planned to take them down with my jiu-jitsu. However, this cheeky man with glasses appeared out of nowhere, showering on my parade.

The man was in his mid-thirties with a pretty handsome face. Nevertheless, I didn't like the smile on his face.

"I have seen you before," I said, frowning.

The man seemed delighted at my words. He fixed his glasses, placing his fingers on them.

"Ah- that's expected. You have probably seen me on TV. It's not easy being a senator, after all," the man said proudly.

"Not really," I answered calmly. "There was a beggar back in my city. He would often ask for money to treat his eyes. But he wouldn't get the glasses no matter how many times I gave him money," I said flatly.

Cat got the man's tongue as he stood there unprepared at my words. The thugs barely prevented themselves from bursting into laughter.

"How can a girl like you even qualify to be the inheritor for the throne of the White Wolves' alpha? Has the alpha Lord finally lost his mind?" the man questioned, sighing exhaustedly as his face darkened,

"Why do you care?" I asked back suspiciously. "Did you order these thugs to bring me here?"

"Ah- not really," the man rapidly answered, raising his arms dramatically. "I am a senator. I don't have the time to play along with the wolves. But, you see, there are times when I need to deal with these mafias. And when it comes to business deals, the wolf gangs are always the best," the man said, smiling at me cheekily.

"Why am I here then? To become a part of your business deal?" I asked again, frowning.

"To tell the truth, I have no connection with these thugs bringing you here. I was only here for business. And there's no reason for me to let you get hurt either since I also belong to the family," the man said as his smile widened.

A tiny light of hope appeared before my eyes as the man revealed that he belonged to my grandpa's pack.

However, it got crushed shortly as the man said before leaving me alone with the thugs, "I would consider creating trouble with these guys if you were someone worthy of saving. I can't even feel your wolf. The alpha Lord must have gone blind with his affection for considering you instead of Caspian."

The thugs encircled me shortly, smirking at me as if I were prey in their cage. One thing I realized was to win the alpha's throne didn't include only proving my worth. Some wolves worshiped Caspian as the next alpha on the throne. And they wouldn't care if I died.

The thugs got close to me as I took a deep breath, positioning my body. Since the thugs were aware of my weakness, they didn't bother to shift. I took the opportunity to chokehold the nearest one while pinning the one behind me with my leg. It wasn't easy to fight all those men alone.

The giant thug from earlier seemed to enjoy my fight back. He ordered the thugs to get away from me as I gasped for air.

"Seems like this little kitten loves to fight back. No wonder she's in the line for the alpha's throne. How about we teach her a few moves?" the giant man asked as a vicious smile appeared on his face.

I couldn't even count how many men I fought as I fell to my knees exhaustedly.

"What the hell are you waiting for? If you bastards lose to a girl like this, I will kill you all myself," the thug yelled, cutting off the neck of the last man I had defeated with my jiu-jitsu.

The place was showered with the blood of the wolves who failed to defeat me in a one-on-one fight.

The giant man didn't even show mercy to his own people. I hesitated to hit the thug before me, who was already trembling in fear, not because of me but because of the monster waiting patiently to kill him if he failed to beat me.

I didn't want to fight them either. However, the thug came to me, shifting its arms into claws desperately. I dodged the attack, escaping to the man's back, holding him into a rear naked choke.

"Stop this!" I yelled at the monster man. "Why don't you fight me now instead of killing your own people? I won't forgive you for what you did with your pack members," I said.

The giant thug got up from his place slowly as his face darkened.

"That was enough entertainment today. Do you wish to fight me? If you had died in my men's hands, it would be less painful. However, since that Caspian killed my alpha mercilessly, I doubt even my men would give you a painless death," the thug said.

I stared at him blankly as I couldn't fathom his words.

"Caspian killed your alpha?'' I questioned.

"Affirmative. Caspian killed the alpha of my pack, Loren Ricks," the thug said, getting close to me, shoving his shifted claw to the chest of the thug that I was choking.

My grasp loosened as the thug coughed blood, falling on the ground. My body shivered, noticing the massive build of the thug as his muscles contracted, making the veins prominent in his arms. Blood was dripping from his claws.

The man grabbed my hair, hitting me with all his might. I attempted to dodge it with my jiu-jitsu skill. However, the man was too fast in his wolf form as none of his attacks missed my body.

I fell to the ground as he continued stomping my body with all his might. Blood appeared at the corner of my mouth as I curled up in pain.

"How can he use these moves against a woman?" I thought. It was then I felt a sudden change in my body.

I felt my body getting hot as the thug's kicks hadn't stopped for a second on my stomach. I closed my eyes, opening them shortly as my eyes glowed up.
