Chapter Thirty - Awaken
"Look at you. How fragile you are. You can't even heal your wounds," the monstrous thug said, constantly kicking my injured body. "Your pack must pay the price for my alpha," he added, clenching his jaw.
It felt like the thug's abhorrence with rage had centered in one place, directed toward my body.
The rest of the thugs were quivering in a corner, gaping at the crude torture before them with widened eyes. They failed to comprehend how my tiny body could proceed with those inhuman stompings.
I could feel the unusual changes in my body. My body was getting hot as I curled up in pain, attempting to avoid getting hit on the major organs.
The man's sharp boot plowed hard on my ribcage. I felt like my ribs broke. My body jolted as the man strolled back to end me with the final blow.
The man attempted toward my chest. Unexpectedly, I stopped his attack with my forearm. The man pressed hard on my arm with all his might. However, my hand didn't flinch as I shot a deadly glare at the thug.
For a moment, the monstrous man appeared unprepared by my glowing eyes. Nevertheless, he broke into laughter shortly.
"A tough cookie, huh? Look at this kitten! Are you getting mad? What can you do after enduring my kicks pathetically?" the guy squatted by me, clenching my chin. "Aren't you being formidable considering this tiny wolfless body? Perhaps my attacks were too soft for you to get killed," the thug said, licking the blood in his claw from my cheeks.
But, a low-pitched growl came out of my throat as I dangerously shoved his leg away, making him lose his balance, barely preventing his fall. The thug stared at me in disbelief.
I slowly got up, entangled in a sensation foreign to my body. I was on the verge of losing my mind. My limbs started to act out of reflex.
Blood was dripping from the freshly made cuts and injuries from the stomping. However, the wounds began to emit burning gasses as if the tissues were regenerating. I stood there awkwardly, staring at the thugs tilting my head to one side as my face got covered by my long black hair. It was as if I was a spirit that woke up from an eternal sleep as my eyes glowed burning amber.
The thug appeared perplexed by the sudden change of events before him. as he mockingly said, "What is this? Don't pretend to be too cocky, you little bitch. I have had enough of you today. I shall release you from your misery," the thug said.
My arms began to shift suddenly, astonishing the entire port area as the other thugs gathered at a corner as if they were some kind of magnets.
"You-what kind of drama do you think you are commencing?" the monstrous thug questioned, almost slurring. He seemed frustrated by the ambiance my entire body began to emit.
I stared at the thug and ordered in a slightly husky tone, "Bow."
I felt like my entire body was possessed. I moved toward the man dangerously as half of my body began to shift. I could feel intense pain in my muscles. As if the tendons were getting ripped apart from my bones.
Yet, I was calm on the outside. My body was not in my control.
"Don't move, You Little!" the thug yelled again, ordering me frustratedly.
"Did you not hear me?" I questioned the thug, standing before his face only a few inches apart.
The injuries in my body had completely healed. Cat got the man's tongue as the thug stared at the shifted part of my face with widened eyes.
"You-how can you have a wolf? You couldn't even heal yourself earlier," the thug said, staring at me skeptically. "Is it some kind of trick you are playing on me?"
"Did I not order you to bow? Bow!" I yelled at the man's face as he fell to his knees right away, grabbing his ears. Blood appeared from his ears.
The man couldn't move for a few seconds. He stayed there in the same position with disbelief. The other thugs had already turned pale in fear, on the verge of losing their lives.
"An alpha command?" the monstrous thug mumbled. His giant body, kneeling before my tiny stature, could be counted as the oddest scenario his pack members had ever observed.
The man continuously attempted to heal his wounds but failed. He stared at me blankly as if he couldn't hear the words that escaped my lips as I uttered them slowly.
"Burn to ashes."
It felt like something else said that from inside me. I couldn't recognize my voice. I rapidly moved, piercing my claws at every living entity, bathing the seawater with blood.
The soulless bodies fell to the ground as the giant thug stared at me with fear in his eyes. I wanted to see this. A smirk appeared on my face.
I raised my claw as all the pain from his earlier kicking flashed before my eyes, rushing my blood to my brain as my face hardened, lacking any sympathy.
I pushed my claw to the man's throat as he begged for his life, ripping it from his trunk. The man's body turned into ashes shortly.
I stood there calmly as my entire body was showered in blood from all the killing. I had finally awakened my wolf.
"I am delighted finally to get to meet you, Bailey," my wolf said inside my mind. "You took too long to find me."
I couldn't speak as I didn't know how to move my muscles since my wolf was in control. I suddenly felt a burning thirst in my throat. My wolf wasn't satisfied. It wanted something more.
I thought it would be nice and sweet once I awakened my wolf. But the burning sensation and the unquenched thirst began to push me toward something I couldn't fathom.
I felt a sharp pain inside my body as my wolf began to resist my body. Athereld had warned me of this. My wolf remained suppressed for so long that it developed as an entity inside me, and now it was trying to dominate my body.
I was losing my mind, slowly turning into an animal. It was then Caspian appeared before my eyes. At first, I thought I was hallucinating.
I could see the shock in Caspian's eyes as he observed my hideous appearance. I was shifted halfway, struggling with my wolf to get control in a sea of blood.
My eyes glowed up even more at Caspian's appearance as if something got triggered inside me. I growled at him. My wolf began to struggle to take possession of my body as it finally found its mate.
I screamed in pain as Caspian slowly came towards me.
"Don't!" I shouted, suffering in pain. "Don't come closer," I cried out.
Tears fell down my eyes. I didn't want Caspian to discover me in such a grotesque state. I shook my head, embracing myself in my arms.
"Go away," I said, sobbing as Caspian came to me.
I thought Caspian would get disgusted at my appearance. He could now reject me properly. His first rejection was when my wolf was in eternal sleep. Hence, it didn't create any impact on our bond. However, if he rejected me in that state, the bond would get nullified for good. I was already in pain. I didn't want any more trauma to deepen my scars.
I continued to sob as tears continued to wet my cheeks. I felt a warm touch on my cheeks suddenly. I looked up to meet Caspian's eyes. There wasn't any hatred on his face. Instead, I felt a strange affection as Caspian gently caressed my cheeks.
I had never noticed he possessed such enticing hands. His slender, long fingers and nails were transparent as glasses roamed over my face to my neck.
Caspian pulled my blood-bathed body into an embrace as my head rested on his chest. I remained in his hold as my wolf began to calm down.
