Chapter 13 Chapter 13
Milo pov
He finished the content in one gulp
My stomach twisted painfully. I held my breath, waiting…
But Nothing happened.
No growl, No rage or fainting. I watched with my mouth open as he set the now empty goblet on the table.
I sat still, I tried to keep a neutral face, but inside I was a nervous wreck.
Did it work?
Did it do nothing?
Or had the real effects not started yet?
He looked at me, and for a terrifying second, my heart almost jumped out of my mouth. Did he know?
But then… he smirked. A slow, dangerous smile that curled at the edge of his lips.
“You look flushed, pet,” he murmured low in my ear, enough for only me to hear.
“I…I’m fine,” I whispered.
He leaned close again, this time I felt his teeth graze my ear lobe painfully. “You’d better be”
I wanted to scream in pain, but I bit my lips from doing so. My stomach churned, as he continued to lick and graze my ear pang of pain and pleasure originating from his actions. I tried to steady my breathing, but his hand joined the fray, trailing down my waist to my exposed thighs.
The music picked up again and another round of drinks and servings passed through the crowd.
My eyes caught Catherine's evil eyes, as she watched me like a vulture patiently waiting to strike.
I tried to push the fear down.
But I felt something change the air. Masters actions were not getting more intense.
His breathing fanning my neck became laboured and faster.
He shifted slightly in his chair, legs parting wider, creating more access as his cock made contact to my ass.
I froze.
I could feel his tip poking hard at my butt crack.
His scent changed too, thicker and more primal.
Shit!
At first i thought it was nothing
The way his grip on my waist tightened, almost becoming painful.
The way his breathing became laboured,
The way his nose brushed over my throat again like he couldn’t get enough of my scent.
And then, his eyes.
They weren’t just golden anymore.
They were glowing. And they stared at me with animalistic hunger, that send fear through my body. A hunger I know was not human.
His wolf was stirring, without him knowing it.
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
I tried to shift slightly off his lap, but his arm clamped even tighter.
growling low in warming, just beneath the music and chatter. No one seemed to notice. The others at the table were engrossed in their lives
Well except one.
I looked around helplessly, my eyes locked on Catherine stare.
But this time, when my fearful eyes met hers, she smiled.
It Immediately occured to me that the vial she gave me might not be what she claimed it was.
Ohhhh goodness.
Just then the sound of chairs scraping against the floor echoed throughout my ears.
It was time for toasting.
I stared in horror. My master growled lowly, I could feel his muscles tightening against the effect of the drug.
Master stood from his chair with difficulty. lifting his glass to offer the official toast, the ballroom quieted with respect. Every pair of eyes turned towards their king.
But before he could speak…
CLINK.
A sharper chime echoed through the hall as cathering stood up from her seat, she held onto her grasp a bottle of red wine, smiling seductively.
“I beg your pardon, Your Majesty,” Catherine said loudly, stepping into the golden-lit center of the ballroom, her blood-red gown shimmering behind her.
Master paused. Every attention followed her.
“I believe… there is something the court should know before we raise our glasses tonight.”
My heart almost flew to my mouth. Whispers and murmurs started going around the hall.
The grand hall suddenly felt too small for me. My breathing seized, my body trembled uncontrollably…
Catherine turned slowly, dramatically, her face filled with a happy glee. She pointed at me.
“Your esteemed Majesty, your precious pet, your lovely Millen, is not who she claims to be.”
Gasps exploded around the hall.
I froze, wishing the ground to open and swallow me.
I had done what she needed, then why was she doing this…
“Catherine, what is the meaning of this nonsense?” master's voice bellowed, his powerful vibration running through my nervous body.
But Catherine easily shook it off, her smile returning just as fast, “your pet is not who she is. He is not your concubine. He is a boy. A spy, and a fraud. And worse….”
She looked around the hall, basking in hercmoment of glory, her voice louder this time, and filled with venom.
“…he tried to poison you tonight.”
Another wave of gasps rippled through the hall.
The music crashed to a halt.
A few pets whimpered. Several commanders stood up from their chairs, their fangs bearing down on me.
“He is a boy”
“A liar. A spy planted in our court”
I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t move. My heart slammed hard on my chest, but there was nothing I could do or say to plead my innocence.
Not when everybody was looking at me with barely contained rage. The huge man, always beside the master , looked like he was one second away from ripping me apart.
“No. No. Please. No. Not like this…”
“GUARDS!” someone barked,
Two palace guards in silver-black armor rushed toward me. I stumbled back, but there was nowhere to go. The grip on my collar yanked me back as sharp claws tore through my dress…
“WAIT…NO!”
RIP
My shoulder was exposed. The dress tore further revealing my flat chest.
Gasps of shock sounded around me. As all eyes in the whole hall locked on me.
There was no denying the glaring truth.
No soft curve of breasts. Shame, disgrace and Guilt washed over my body.
The air suddenly turned to ice, master finally stood up, his aura flaring locking onto me. The whole hall was plunged into silence.
Every eye in the ballroom was on me, judging, sneering, waiting for the King’s wrath to fall like a blade.
My chest rose and fell too fast, like I had run a marathon race. My throat went dry.
Catherine had exposed me, publicly in front of everyone.
And now… the King was staring at me like he didn’t even know me.
“Is it true?”
His voice was too calm, Too quiet. And somehow it boomed like thunder in my head.
He was projecting his will on me, an omega. I felt my head split into two from the pain.
“Did you poison me?”
My knees buckled, I crashed down on my knees, tears rolling down my eyes.
“It wasn’t poison,” I choked, my voice raw. “I didn’t know. She made me…, it's not true. she blackmailed me…!”
Silence,
No one believed me, I could see it in their eyes.
I looked at him… the Mafia King…my master, but his face became even more twisted.
His eyes blazed red.
Catherine stepped forward like my personal demon, sent from the pit of hell.
“Lies of a desperate little rat,” she hissed, tugging at my sleeves.
The bottle that was securely hidden, fell from my sleeves, shattering at the floor.
All hell was let loose in the hall.
The commanders stared at the broken glass like it was poison, in this case It was.
I had been caught red handed.
Their expressions turned grim, they thought I was a spy that had tried to kill their King.
My mouth opened, but the words died in my throat. Masters face was filled with disgust and something darker.
This is it. I’m going to die..
I closed my eyes, I couldn't bear to see how I would die.
The King growled.
A sound that traveled like a bullet, the floor itself rumbled from the sheer power behind his growl.
“LEAVE, EVERYONE GET OUT, NOW!!.”
