Chapter 25 Debt of gratitude
"There are so many questions running through my mind every time I see you, sir. Why were you at the auction a while ago, and then here, proudly claiming to be Julia's husband? How did you two meet? I'm the man who knows Julia best, and I even know who she's been in contact with."
Kay, who was accused of this, naturally remained silent. The man remained calm and smiled coldly at Robin.
"I don't think there's anything that could make you need to know about what happened between us. What's clear is that she's my wife, and I hope you'll respect her a little." Kay walked over to Robin and stood right in front of him. "I never even knew a man as shameless as you existed. After you hurt your woman, how can you blame her for all your failures? No matter where you come from, and whatever your dirty ambitions, believe me, no cheating will ever end well. Whether now or later, you will definitely receive the punishment you deserve for cheating on my wife."
Robin's hands clenched so tightly, he wanted to punch the beautiful man in the face. However, his logic still worked to suppress all the emotions that were already boiling inside him. He had to stay calm, he wasn't facing just any man, the world's largest investor. Even Robin was very curious about where this young man got such a large amount of money to become an investor respected even by entrepreneurs in this world?
"I'm sorry, sir. I'm just trying to be realistic. My life has been incredibly difficult, and I can't be foolish enough to hold on to love just because I want to be happy. As far as I know, happiness comes when you have a lot of money. And when I find a woman far better than Julia, wouldn't it be normal for me to dump her and be with my current wife?"
"If that's normal for you, then that's fine, because for me, it's completely inappropriate. Furthermore, it's a private matter, so don't discuss it here. I don't want your wife or father to find out about it, and then cause another big problem."
Kay saw Julia coming out of the bathroom. Naturally, Julia was shocked to see the two men standing face to face, seemingly arguing. However, she still tried to remain calm and pulled her husband away from Robin, knowing he wasn't a man with the patience to deal with a fool like Robin.
"I hope you don't say anything that will upset Robin, or even that you won't be provoked by that man. Because I know very well that man doesn't deserve your anger, because he's a loser."
Kay's jaw tightened at that, then she nodded her head perfectly.
"Don't misunderstand. Even though I'm a criminal, at least I'm not stupid like your ex-boyfriend. Who only craves validation and wealth for a life he thinks is perfect, when it's so obvious his current life is completely fake, and I'm fed up."
"So what are you going to do? Will you accept his father-in-law's offer of cooperation or not?"
"It all depends on you. If you still want to have a relationship with that man by slowly exacting revenge, then I might grant your ex-lover's father-in-law's request. Just spending a little money won't make me poor, and we can see how your ex-lover becomes increasingly greedy and arrogant, as if he were the best in business."
Julia looked back at Kay. Actually, she also wanted to exact revenge the same way, taking it slow and showing how incredibly happy she was to marry such a perfect man whose status was even higher than Robin's. However, this was about money, and the investment required was no small sum. Making her husband spend a lot of money just for revenge was certainly not a good idea at all, or even a foolish death. And Julia was still quite aware that it was not something appropriate at all and should have refused from the start. “I think that is not a good decision at all, I don't want you to lose a lot of money just because you follow my revenge and more than that, you certainly know that Robin is not a businessman from the start, he will definitely spend your money very quickly.”
Kay glanced at his wife with a puzzled look.
"Don't always feel bad about those close to you, because of course this won't be good for you. Just let it go. Just think of me as a friend and you can decide whatever you want to make things much better."
"But—"
"Never mind, I made a decision so quickly. I'll invest half of what they want to see if they're up to the challenge. What do you think? I don't think this is a bad thing, right? And you don't need to worry about me losing my money because of course they'll lose a much larger amount than what I put in. So, stop feeling bad now and focus on your revenge."
"So what about you? What else do you want from me?"
Kay paused for a moment, trying to think of something, then he realized it wasn't the right time to ask the woman beside him. He had to make the woman beside him feel increasingly indebted to him, so that eventually, one day, she would never be able to refuse anything he wanted, even if it seemed so difficult and impossible.
"For now, I don't want anything; we can ignore all this. Maybe someday I'll ask you for something, and I hope you won't refuse anything I ask of you."
As a member of the police force, Julia certainly understood that this wasn't a good debt at all. She knew that her husband would want many things in a way that was far more terrifying than before. Julia had to remember that if she married such a terrifying mafia leader, he would definitely never give her help for free.
