💠 Chapter 68 💠

Brianna’s POV

After making that decision of letting myself get kidnapped, I decided to do the things I really want to do. What I’m about to do is really dangerous and I might not return alive so I shouldn’t have any regrets at least.

I will be putting a microchip in my body tomorrow so before then, I will just spend time with my best friend and create great memories. I took out my phone and dialed Helen’s contact which she answered immediately.

“Good afternoon Brianna. I’m really sorry for not visiting you since all these days, I’ve just been really busy but I promise to make out time for you today” she said before I could say anything

“I didn’t call you because of that Helen and I understand. I want to go out this afternoon and I need someone to accompany me. Are you free right now?” I asked

“Of course! I will be there in a jiffy” she said and ended the call

A smile crept on my face slowly and I felt happy. It’s a good thing that I can at least spend my last moments with my best friend.

The men that wanted to kidnap me were still lurking around and I just wish I could get this done with as soon as possible but the person that is to put the microchip in my body said he will only be chance tomorrow so I have to wait until then at least.

Within a few minutes, Helen met me at the place I asked us to meet and she was looking prettier than usual.

“Why did you dress up so elegantly? You are not going out on a date with your boyfriend, I hope you know that?” I teased

“I’m going out on a date with my girlfriend instead so why can’t I dress up as much as I want?” she asked with an eyeroll

“Okay then. We will go to the beach first. After that, we will go to the amusement park and ride rollercoasters and any other thing you want. Then we can go to a restaurant and finally go to a club” I listed

“Why are we going to so many places in one day? Let’s go to the amusement park and beach today. We can go to the club tomorrow and besides, tomorrow is Friday so I don’t think there’s any better day to go to the club” she said

“No! We have to go today, I won’t be chanced tomorrow” I said

“Something is wrong right? You sound like you will be going to a very far place and it doesn’t seem like you want to travel because there’s no way you would leave Ryan and travel out of the country. Tell me! What exactly do you want to do?” she asked

“I don’t want to do anything. Can we go to the beach already or should I go on my own?” I asked

“I only asked a question, it’s not enough reason to get angry. If you don’t want to talk about it, it’s okay. Let’s go to the beach” she said and got into the car I brought

I feel like I was too harsh on her but I can’t apologize to her because she might see that as an opportunity to keep asking me questions that I don’t want to answer.

The drive to the beach was completely silent and I silently blamed myself for the tensed atmosphere. If only I had tried to act reasonably, this outing wouldn’t have turned out like this.

After changing our clothes in the car, we got out of the car and the first person to release the tension was Helen. I was a bit surprised but I blended in quickly and it wasn’t long before we started running around happily.

I had so much fun and the memories I had with Helen suddenly started coming back. I remember when I was working as a stripper with her. We always went together and we did so many crazy things together.

I really miss our time together but I can’t deny the fact that I wouldn’t have fallen in love with Ryan if I didn’t leave her. I probably wouldn’t have gotten into any relationship until now because Helen wouldn’t make me see the need for that. Anyway, she’s also the reason why I met Ryan so I can say she’s the best thing that happened to me.

“What are you thinking about?” Helen asked as we walked to the amusement park

“I’m just thinking about our moments together, I really miss those days” I said with a smile

“But I bet Ryan has taken my space in your heart now since you think about him almost all the time. Besides, you never even cared to visit me when you were with him and I didn’t dare to come because you said he was dangerous” she pouted

“I’m sorry for not visiting you but you should know that no one can take your place in my life. You will forever be my best friend” I said

“No problem, let’s just have fun” she said and ran ahead of me

We had a lot of fun on the rollercoaster, ferris wheel and many other things. Helen didn’t want to leave but I reminded her that we had to go to the restaurant next so she had no choice but to leave with me.

By the time we finished eating at the restaurant, it was already late so we went straight to the club.

“I’m going to drink to my fill this night so can you please try to remain sober? I really don’t want to get laid” I said as we went into the club

“Sure! You can trust me on that” Helen said with a smile

I ordered tequila and began to drink until I probably forgot my name. Everything around me was suddenly becoming two and three and my head was spinning.

Even though I was feeling that way, I didn’t stop drinking because I knew Helen was with me. I have nothing to worry about when I have her here.

Helen’s POV

I really didn’t want to take advantage of Brianna like this but she left me with no choice. I asked her about it over and over again but she just got angry at me and that means she’s hiding something. I need to find out what it is before she makes any mistake.

“Brianna” I called and she hummed a response

“Are you going somewhere far away?” I asked

“Yes, I’m going somewhere far and I don’t think I will be coming back. The thought of not seeing Ryan again is driving me nuts and that’s why I came here to drink away my sorrow” she said in her drunk state

“Where are you going that is so important more than your life and more than your relationship with Ryan?” I asked again

“I need to find the bastard that dared to hurt my Ryan and from the look of things, it’s not a simple case. If I don’t deal with it as soon as possible, Ryan will lose everything he has worked so hard for and I won’t be able to bare seeing him in pain” she said

“So what are you planning to do?” I asked

“What I’m planning to do is…. I want to” she smiled, placed her head on the table and blacked out

“Brianna, say something” I said even though I knew it was useless

I shouldn’t have allowed her drink so much. The information she gave me is enough to know that she’s planning to do something dangerous but I wasn’t able to get a detailed information on what she plans to do and she won’t tell me when she wakes up. I need to find out what is going on by myself.
