💠 Chapter 69 💠

Brianna’s POV

The first thing I did when I opened my eyes was grab my head with my hands firmly. I felt like there was a volcano erupting in my head and I was hearing some noises in my head. Just how much did I drink last night for me to be like this?

“Here is hangover soup, have some” I heard Helen say

I managed to stand up and took the soup from her which I gulped down immediately. After a few minutes, I started feeling better but I still had to rest a little because I was quite dizzy.

“Why did you drink so much last night? It’s a good thing I was there” Helen said and sat beside me

“I just wanted to drink because it’s been a while. I hope I didn’t do or say anything stupid?” I asked

“You didn’t do anything of such but regarding saying something stupid, I don’t understand” she said

“Never mind. The good part is that we are both okay and nothing happened. I really need to go now, I have something important to take care of” I said and stood up

“Can’t you tell me about the so-called important thing? You are making me anxious with your strange behavior” Helen said

“You don’t need to worry about anything. Everything will be over soon and don’t forget that I love you so much. You are the sister I never had and I hope you will live a happy life no matter what” I said

“You still think I don’t need to worry about anything with the way you are talking? It’s fine though. Just take care of yourself and don’t do anything risky” she said

“Thank you Helen! See you later” I said and rushed out of her house

I feel really bad for lying to her but what can I do? If I tell her about it, she wouldn’t let me do it and if she eventually lets me, she will want us to do it together. The last thing I want to do is put her life in danger so I can’t say a word to her.

I soon arrived at the place where I was to put the microchip in my body but that was after I went to take my bath at Ryan’s mansion. Putting the microchip inside my body didn’t take much time but I felt stings.

It wasn’t that painful and I was warned about removing it. Since it will be removed through a surgery, the doctor said it can be dangerous but I’m ready to do anything to protect Ryan. If the culprit is found quickly, Ryan can be wary of him and prevent himself from getting into unnecessary dangerous situations again.

After I was done, I returned to the mansion to rest for a bit. Within two hours, I was on my way to the hospital. I want to spend my last happy moments with Ryan so that I will be strong to face any danger.

“Ryan, I know you are going to open your eyes soon. You are very strong and a mere accident can’t make you this way. You’ve been lying unconscious without moving for days. I just hope you can think about me and open your eyes for a few moment before I leave” I said while holding his hands

Tears filled my eyes but they were soon replaced with an anxious look when I saw Ryan’s fingers move.

“D…doctor! Doctor!! Doctor!!!” I screamed and ran out of the world

“What’s wrong Miss Brianna?” a nurse asked me

“Ryan. His fingers just moved. Please call the doctor to check on him” I said

“I will do that right away ma” the nurse said and left

The doctor arrived few minutes later and carried out a check up on him while I stood nervously and waited for his response.

“It seems he got out of coma for a few seconds considering the result I got but he’s back into coma now. Cases like this are rare so hopefully, he will wake up soon” the doctor assured

I really wish I could wait until Ryan wakes up before I do anything but I can’t sit quietly like this when that victim is still roaming around freely. The cartel and company are in the hands of good people that I’ve studied for a while now and I believe they will be able to take care of both the company and cartel before Ryan wakes up.

I slept with Ryan in the ward last night and I made sure to stay by his side the next morning until it was 9am. It’s finally time to do what I’m supposed to do for Ryan.

Justin’s POV

I couldn’t explain the anger I was feeling within me as I thought about how Brianna humiliated me in front of everyone in the cartel. I know how much she hates me but I honestly wasn’t expecting her to go that far.

How could she strip me of my title as the underboss of the cartel just after few days that she became the boss? The most shocking and annoying part is that none of the members protested.

I thought they really liked me and that I could consider them buddies at least, but they proved me wrong. Just because Brianna is the new leader, they want to try everything in their power to gain her trust and favour.

If only they had an idea that I’m going to become the new boss of the cartel very soon. I won’t spare anyone of them no matter who it is because they betrayed me at the most crucial stage of my plan.

Now that I’m no longer the underboss of the cartel, there are some information that I won’t have access to because I’m just an ordinary member now and it will cause some delay in my plans.

Brianna has always been a pain in the neck for me right from high school and she still hasn’t changed. Even Ryan didn’t dare to make things difficult for me but she had the guts to ruin my plan in one go.

I wanted to go easy on her after kidnapping her but I won’t do that anymore. I’m going to f**k her mercilessly that even if she begs me to stop, I won’t listen to her. I will show her that I’ve always been the boss no matter where I go and it will continue to remain that way.

“Boss, Michael has something to report to you” my closest bodyguard said, jolting me out of my thought

“What else does he have to say? He failed to kidnap Brianna since all these days and he has the guts to call me? He can’t even carry out that little responsibility so he’s not worthy to be one of my men. Tell him to get lost!” I said angrily

“Boss, I think it’s really important this time. He said it had something to do with Brianna” my guard said

Brianna? Could he have kidnapped her already? Where is the phone? I need to talk to him.

“Good morning boss! I know I failed in my mission countless times but Brianna is alone right now and we are tailing her. I’m assuring you that we are going to bring her to you before nightfall” he said

“Really? I actually thought you had something important to say but you called me because of this? How many times have you called to tell me you are on Brianna’s tail? Just thank your stars that I’m not in a very bad mood right now, else you would have seen just what I am capable of” I said angrily and returned the phone to my guard

He dared to call me just to say that rubbish? I’m so pissed right now.
