Chapter 105: Goodbye

Chapter 105: Goodbye
Slowly the pack members approached Amber, Mary and Byron giving their condolences. Amber and Byron accepted with genuine thanks and appreciation. Mary, on the other hand, scoffed at what she believed to be fake concern.

“Mary, would you stop acting like a petulant child.” Byron snapped.

“Oh please,” Mary snorted, “They don’t even care about my loss.”

“Our loss,” Byron said, looking over at Amber. “You aren’t the only one who’s suffering Mason’s death.” He told her, all she did was huff at him and watch as the fire burned her son’s body.

Zoltan, his siblings and Kristy stood together, holding hands and crying. “I can’t believe they’re crying.” Mary grumbled. “They’re the one’s who did this to him.”

“They didn’t do anything to him.” Byron said. “He... we did this to himself. All the decisions.”

“Shut up!” she snapped at him, “you betrayed him and me!” she sobbed. She turned and looked at him. “I, Mary Eliane BlueStone, reject you, Byron Cole BlueStone, as my mate and Alpha now and forever.” She recited; she fell to her knees.

Byron grabbed his chest as half of the bond was broken. “Aahh...” he yelped. Safyer looked in Byron’s direction and motioned to Zoltan. He quickly walked over to where Byron was, as he approached, he realized Byron was clutching his chest.

Lacy gasped, “dad, what’s wrong? What happened?” she knelt next to him, “what’s going on?” she asked.

“I rejected him.” Mary smirked.

“What?” Lacy yelped.

“It’s okay, sweetie,” Byron smiled softly at his daughter.

“Accept my rejection!” Mary yelled.

“Shut the fuck up!” Lacy snapped, punching her mom in the nose.

“Lacy,” Zoltan called, before his sister could attack Mary again. “Byron, do you need medical care?”
“No, your Majesty.” Byron breathed out. “I just need to accept her rejection.” He stood with a little help from Tarby. “Thank you, Tarby.” He patted Tarby’s hand. He stood tall and strong and looked Mary in the eyes. “I, Byron Cole BlueStone, accept the rejection of Mary Eliane BlueStone, as my mate and Luna, now and forever.” He said, leaning a little on Tarby.

Mary clutched her chest, “finally,” she said, “I can start my life over and find a better and stronger Alpha mate.”

“Yeah, you can start your new life in the prison pack.” Safyer snickered.

“You are actually sending me to the prison pack?” Mary asked incredulously.

“Well, DUH!” Iza stated. “You’ll spend the next thirty years living in the prison pack.”

“I will not be going!” she stated.

“You say that as if you think you had a choice.” Safyer chuckled, “just so you know, you don’t have a choice in the matter.”

“You shouldn’t be allowed to make these kinds of decisions about your family.” Mary huffed.

“First of all,” Safyer said, “you are NOT my family. I don’t like.” She said, “second, as much as it would’ve been fun thinking of a good and proper punishment for you,” she snickered, “alas, I am not the one who decided what your punishment is.” She sighed. “The Elder Counsel were the ones who decided punishment.” She said, scrunching her nose. “I think they were rather lenient with their punishment but oh well.” She shrugged her shoulders.

“Oh, like I believe that.” Mary rolled her eyes.

“She’s telling the truth,” Vega said. “When anyone of the royal family is involved, then the Elder Counsel steps in. Seeing as you’re... or was Zoltan’s step-mother, we thought it best for the Counsel to decide what your punishment would be.”

“I am a Luna! I do NOT belong in the prison pack.”

“Correction, you WERE a Luna.” Safyer said, “you just rejected your Alpha mate.” She reminded.

“I come from an Alpha...”

“That’s ENOUGH!!” Zoltan bellowed. “You are done talking, we are done listening to your lies.” Zoltan stated. “Guards take her, Byron and Amber to their cells. They will be transferred to the prison pack first thing in the morning.”

“I thought Byron was going to be put to death?” Mary asked.

“He still is. So, say your goodbyes. He’s going to be taken to the infirmary and be prepared,” Safyer answered for her mate, “guards, you have your orders.”

The guards nodded and escorted the prisoners to their designated locations. While Amber went without issue, Mary refused to go quietly. “Mary, you will go the easy way or the hard way. I really don’t care.” Tarby warned, holding up a syringe containing silver and wolfsbane.

Mary reluctantly walked with the guards. “I want to speak with the Elders. I am appealing my punishment.”

Safyer laughed, really laughed, “you really are a fool.” She said, trying to stop laughing. “We are NOT a human court. There are no appeals. There’s so much evidence against you. If it had been up to me, I would’ve given you a life sentence.” She admitted.

“I want to see the Elder Counsel.” Mary demanded.

Safyer looked at her dad, he thought for a moment and then nodded. “Fine, we’ll contact the Counsel and advise them of your request.” Vega said.

“It’s not a request, it’s a DEMAND.” Mary snapped.

“Oh, a demand.” Vega narrowed his eyes. “I will let them know of your DEMAND, but I warn you, not to hold your breath.” He snickered, as he motioned for the guards to take her to her cell.

“What now?” Safyer asked her dad.

“You and Zoltan go rest. You have a little invader who’s going to really start making demands. And your power is going to start going haywire. So, you need to try and rest as much as you can.” Vega told her.

“You, now I’m not good at doing nothing.” She snorted.

“How about spending time with other pregnant females.” Celeste suggested. “I’m sure they’d enjoy spending time with you and sharing their experiences.”
“Yeah, that sounds like a great idea, a group for all moms and expectant moms.” Safyer smiled.

“I will set everything up.” Celeste clapped her hands together.

“Oh, I also want to spend some time with the single and pup free females. I don’t want any of them to feel they’re not important.” Safyer said.
