Chapter 215 - Match
Chapter 215 - Match
"Good evening, everyone." Kelvin shouted, also making his way to the front, and they all fell into silence. “We are here to witness the battle between Alpha and your beloved Alpha. Thank you all for coming. The contenders can now please step forward into the circle.“
Raphael, along with the men to battle, all followed his instructions, and I clenched my jaws, blocking any nerves trying to force doubts into my mind. I refuse to give in because I believe Raphael will defeat them all.
“The battles are a fight to the death. Once it commences, there would be no substitution or submission. If you are to submit, your only time is before the fight commences.“ He explained. “Each man shall fight separately, with a five-minute recovery for the defending man in question. If he manages to stay alive after fighting the ten contenders, I will step in as the last contender and battle with him.“
I scoff. More like allowing your men to die first in his hands, then experiencing your own death next.
“Alpha Raphael Lucas, do you accept the rules that have been laid out for you?“ he smirked.
By the look of annoyance on his face, I could tell that he was already impatient with the Alpha's talk. He begrudgingly nodded, running a hand through his hair. “I do. Can the fight now begin?“
Kelvin sneered at him for his nonchalant attitude towards the match. He was expecting my mate to quiver on hearing the rules, even in the slightest way. “Gentlemen, do you accept the rules that have been laid out for you?“
The ten of them voiced their agreement in synchronization.
“Very well. May the first male step forward and state his name.“
A blonde stepped forward into the circle, bowing his head slightly to his Alpha. He turns to the crowd and introduces himself as Trevor, a warrior of the pack. Raphael didn't need an introduction to the crowd because everyonealready knew him.
“Alright. May both contenders step into the circle.“
The male wolf did not hesitate before the bones in his body began to crack. He shoots out deep brown fur, the sunlight radiating the glint of black streaks down his back.
The crowd fell silent as Raphael also began to shift. His body begins to crack and morph into a big midnight black wolf. His wolf was three times bigger than his opposing fighter's wolf.
I smile in contentment when I see the wolf squirm, fear flashing across his eyes. Trevor, the opposing male's wolf, took a step back as Raphael's wolf, Thanos, began to surround him, his head lowered low.
“This match doesn't look like two contenders fighting against each other at all; it's more like a predatory wolf watching its prey animal's movements before devouring it.“ Kylie spoke as she left her mate's side and came forward, standing next to me.
I nodded, agreeing with what she had said. Honestly, it was such a stupid decision for a regular wolf without any rank position to fight an Alpha. It's like he was signing his death certificate to Raphael without any consideration.
“This is going to be an easy-peasy fight for Alpha Raphael, don't worry.“ She added, placing a hand on my shoulder and rubbing it slightly to comfort me.
I turned to her and smiled in appreciation. “I know that already. Thanks.“
Just then a loud whistle blew across the field, indicating the commencement of the fight, and I watched as Trevor's wolf wasted no time in his attack, charging at Thanos at full speed. Thankfully, Thanos dodged him in time by jumping over his form. In the process he grabs the wolf's tail by the end, startling him. The wolf skipped to a stop in Thanos's previous place, snapping his teeth at him. I know this was Raphael himself trying to irritate the wolf.
The he-wolf's hackles raised, and he bowed his head, his tongue licking at his sharp canines. He wasted no time and charged again, his claws scraping up the dirt in his wake. He leapt from a few feet away and tried to grab onto Thanos's flank with his teeth, but Thanos barreled his head into the wolf's neck and forced him away. As he hit the floor, Thanos dived for her and clawed his paws into the he-wolf's side. He rolled, kicking Thanos away and scraping at his dense fur. The he-wolf snarled as Thanos swiped his claw along the wolf's leg, pulling the skin apart. Fresh blood glinted in the sunlight, dripping patches in the dirt.
