Chapter 208 - Found

Chapter 208 - Found
Camila's P.O.V.
The search was done a few minutes after we had arrived at the pack. We had spread out the search team that night so we wouldn't delay in getting hold of our culprit, and we did; it was possible that she would flee. The information about our arrival might get to her, and she could make an attempt to escape the pack. So when ensuring that our purpose here was successful, we had to take into consideration every possibility that could make us not achieve the aim.
“Camila, can you please stay calm? I'm sure they'll get back to us anytime soon." Kylie's voice drills through my thoughts, and I stop pacing around to look at her. She had arrived in my room a moment ago as we both waited for our mates to return. Staring up at the ceiling, she was sitting in a slumped position with her back slanted against the chair and her head resting on the edge. By the way, her right leg constantly bounced up and down; I could tell that she was also anxious. Although I was a lot more restless than she was.
“It's been two hours, Kylie. Two freaking hours since they left and still haven't found her.“ I said in desperation. “What if… what if she had known that we came and quickly hid herself?“
As much as I tried to stay positive, I couldn't help but think that we could be wrong about the whole thing. It could be that she wasn't even in the pack after all because Alpha Kelvin had mentioned that he doesn't have any record of someone like Sasha in the pack. It was a small pack, and unlike our pack, everyone here knew each other. How she managed to get into this pack without the Alpha knowing about her—when we described Sasha to him, he didn't seem to be aware of her presence in his pack. He has just permitted us to search his pack because there could be a possibility that she was here. She could be here if she were the one causing animals to die in our pack.
“Well, I have the feeling she's here." Kylie said, interrupting my thoughts once again. She sits properly on the chair and looks at me. “She's got to be here. She told me herself that she would be coming here.“
I shook my head, going to sit on the edge of the bed. "You heard Alpha Kelvin. He doesn't have any record of someone like her coming into his pack. She could have lied to you after all.“
Kylie sighed, bringing her hands to rub her arms. "We can't be sure about that. When she left our pack, you also didn't have any record of her leaving. I don't know how she does it, but she has managed to pass through the borders to get here without the Alpha knowing."
"Ughh... Then why haven't they found her? It's taking too long.“ I dropped to the bed, lying flat on it with a heavy sigh before staring up at the white-painted ceiling. “I just want all this to be over with." I muttered quietly as I pressed a hand to my stomach, rubbing it softly.
Seconds passed by before Kylie spoke again. “Me too." I hear her say in a quiet tone.
"Luna Camila!“ Someone calls as the door to the room barges open, and I sit up straight to see one of our warriors standing by the entrance. His eyes searched briefly across the room, and when they found mine, he let out a breath of relief.
“Is everything alright, Avan?“ I asked with a frown.
"I was requested to come and get you, my lady." He replied, bowing his head slightly to me. “She's been found."
~~
“How was she found?" I asked Avan as we all walked past the living room, heading out of the house through the front door.
“By the pack borders, some patrol guards caught her trying to flee the pack and quickly informed us about it. They said she was performing a spell to break the defense walls and would have escaped if they didn't patrol that area. She was with someone else. A man, precisely.“
My breath hitched at his words, and I looked at him in surprise. “A man?"
"Her mate, I think. He looked at her affectionately and was attacking anyone that tried to touch her, but Alpha came in time to put him down. Everyone is now waiting for your arrival at the field before deciding anything.“
I heard my heart beat fast against my chest as Kylie and I followed Avan to where the others were. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Kylie was right. Sasha had sneaked her way into this pack and was now trying to escape. She must have heard we were here for her and was now trying to flee with her mate. Her mate? I never knew anything about her having a mate. In fact, I had thought her mate was a Lycan and had died during the fight challenge. Well, now that I know that she had lied to me about Alpha Damien being the one who started the Lycan challenge thing, I didn't think she was also telling the truth about having any mate. Hearing again that she has had a mate all this while, I couldn't help but feel confused as to why I never saw her with any man. I also wondered why she would lie about the death of her true mate.
We wandered a route, turning around the house and passing other buildings to what I assumed was the field he was taking me to. Just as I was growing impatient, we edged along a narrow path on the side of a small cliff, and the ground opened up in front of us to a large, grassy field. The environmental scenery was beautiful, but that is not what made me hold my breath.
There, situated in the field, were Raphael, Alex, the other pack warriors that came with us, Alpha Kelvin and some of his pack members, some standing and some sitting. Then there in their center, bound to the ground by silver chains, were a terrified Sasha and... Owen?
