Chapter 126: Survivors
Jamal arrives at Nix's house and throws her on the bed, making her wake up and complain:
"Careful, you idiot!"
"Why did you tell her about our pact? Did you see the look on my grandmother's face and Selene's? She must hate me right now."
"Who? Your grandmother or Selene?" Nix is ironic as she watches Jamal go at her, but the witch uses her powers of electricity to shock her and she screams in pain as she falls to her knees on the ground:
"Well done, Jamal. Now you know where you belong, kneeling at my feet. That's why I revealed your dirty little secret and I don't care what Selene or your granny think. Now, satisfy my desire and sate my craving for you." Nix lets her low-cut dress fall down and gets naked, climbing on top of Jamal who struggles against Nix's powerful spell, but is overcome by pain and fatigue, but takes out all his frustration and anger on the thrusts he gives the unscrupulous witch who, no matter how much he complains, doesn't want him to stop until she reaches her limit.
On the other hand, in Sophia's room, Rose wept beside Sophia's body while Selene tried to understand what she had done wrong.
"Did I read something wrong or did I fail to read a word?" Selene wonders aloud, almost in despair as she feels Lyall's strong arms wrap around her.
"Calm down, my love! Perhaps you're missing a small detail. Think about it calmly."
Lyall's words gave Selene an idea, she asked everyone to move away and so the witch/werewolf delivered a gentle shock straight to the girl's heart. Everyone stood in silence waiting to see if it had worked, everyone was quiet and tense, seconds later Sophia's body returned to its natural color and finally she opened her eyes and stood up as if nothing had happened.
"Why are you crying? Grandma and Mama Selene?" Sophia looks at them both curiously
"Because, my dear, we thought we'd lost you." Rose hugs her granddaughter
"I knew Mama Selene would save me."
"What do you mean?
"I saw everything that happened, my body was dying and my soul was watching. It was horrible, it's a very bad feeling. I don't want to go through that again."
"Thank you, Mom Selene, now I know you love me too." Selene hugs Sophia with the most relieved expression.
Breaking away from Selene's embrace, Sophia looks around for her brother:
"I thought I saw Jamal here."
"I'm sorry, my pretty. But your brother had to leave." Lyall replies
"Did he have to leave or did you kick him out again?" the little girl bravely faces the imposing Lycan king.
"Your brother can no longer be trusted, Sophia. He allied himself with Nix, made a ..."
"Selene, spare my granddaughter these details." Rose bends down to speak to the girl.
"Your brother isn't welcome here, that's all. And tomorrow we'll both be leaving too, as soon as the sun is out, I hope Selene will do her part and restore our beloved village."
"Until then, where are you staying?"
"Do you really care, mighty Lycan king?" Rose asks sarcastically, watching Lyall remain silent.
"Why do you hate my brother so much? Do you feel threatened by him?"
"Sophia! Don't talk like that." Rose scolded her granddaughter.
"Don't scold her, Mrs. Rose, I know you have the same thoughts as her. You think the treatment of your beloved grandson is unfair."
"Two brothers shouldn't treat each other like this. I hope you won't regret it later, King Lycan."
Selene looks in astonishment at Rose who justifies, "All of us werewolves should treat each other like brothers, that's what I meant." Despite Rose's explanation, Selene
And just when Lyall thought he'd have some peace, he saw Sophia take Selene's hand and ask:
"Since today is my last day here, can I sleep with you, Mama Selene?" Sophia widened her big, brown, innocent eyes.
"Of course, my princess!" Selene consented, oblivious to Lyall's glare.
"But what about me?"
"You have your own room and bed, so make good use of it."
"But it's cold."
"Light the fire. Damn it, Lyall!" Selene gets angry and everyone smiles at the two of them.
The next day, everyone wakes up late because of the events of the day before, but as soon as she gets up, Rose packs her suitcase and Sophia's, and goes to call her in Selene's room:
"Darling, where's Sophia?"
Selene gets up, still drowsy, looking around. "She must be in the bathroom, let's go look."
"She's not in the bathroom, I'll look in the other rooms and you get up and look in the garden, come on," Rose shouts to Selene, who sends Lyall and the others from the castle to look for the wolf girl.
However, when Selene returns to her room, she hears a soft cry and follows the sound of sobs, opening the closet and finding Sophia crouched in the corner hiding among the clothes and accessories.
"Sophia, why are you hiding in there? Everyone's looking for you and they're worried, your grandmother nearly had a heart attack because she couldn't find you." Selene stretched out her hand to help Sophia out, she sat the girl on her bed and went to the door shouting that she had found the supposed runaway. A few minutes later Rose was in the room followed by Lyall, Ethan and Leila.
"What were you thinking?"
"Sorry, Grandma! I just don't want to go back to an empty place that will remind me every day of how much I miss my mother, I don't understand why you want to go back there, even if Selene and her friends restore our village, there's no one else there, it'll just be you and me, Jamal won't want to stay." The child tries to bring her grandmother back to reality.
"But my dear, if we stay here, our family won't be complete. Don't you miss your brother?"
"Yes. But I don't want to go back to the village of the Moon and I don't want to live in that dirty workshop either. I'd rather go back to the lonely girl's house."
"What lonely girl?"
"When there was all the fuss about Sophia's kidnapping, we were taken in by Elena and that's who Sophia is talking about," Rose explains a little fearfully, as she knows about the rivalry between Elena and Selene.
"Elena took you in? Ethan, did you know?"
"Of course not." The king's advisor lied because he knew and even threatened his sister to expel Jamal and whoever was with him.
"Then let's see if we can go back to her house."
"Would you rather stay with Elena than here with me?"
"At least there, the little that's left of my family can be together."
"I'm sorry for all the trouble I've problems you through, after all, I was the one who ran desperately into a forest that I didn't even know where it led, which resulted in the attack on your village. "
"Don't think like that. You, like us, are a survivor." Rose takes Selene's hand and sighs loudly."
"I have the solution to this impasse." Everyone looks at Lyall expectantly.
