Chapter 86 Someone is Trying to Kill You

Chapter 86 Someone is Trying to Kill You
ADRIANA

I woke up very early that day. Not by Hazel for training but by Yara who wanted to do personal training with me.

“The more understanding you have of your body and your powers, the better it is for you to control me.”

“Aren’t you the one who controls me?”

She laughed at my confusion.

“No, it doesn’t work that way. Well, it kind of doesn’t. Let’s just say it’s vice versa. I mean, you have to tell me what to do, I’m just here to guide you through something.”

I nodded slowly and she continued with her explanation.

“I’m going to be showing you how to move quickly, wielding a weapon in your hand. And your body movements also have to come from your core, so I’ll be teaching you that as well. Then, eventually you’re going to have to shift for the second time in order to make things easier and less awkward if the need arises.”

So basically, I was going to be doing a lot of work on myself. Interesting stuff. I felt very excited and ready to work because I knew what was coming and I wanted to show my father and his cult that I wasn’t going to let them take me down so easily.

But I still had the worry of failing nagging at me. What if I failed in defeating them? What if they manage to kill me? I mean I’m not ready and it’ll be a full moon soon.

I felt like I didn’t have enough time to actually do things properly.

“Instead of worrying, let’s train.”

I forgot that she could hear my thoughts so over the next couple of hours, I trained with her, falling on my butt sometimes but eventually, I got the hang of everything she taught me.

Having a physical teacher was very different from someone barking orders in your head.

I took a break to catch my breath. I just couldn’t fail, the people I’d come to know as family were here and if I failed, that would mean that they would die.

I didn’t mind if I died, I mean I had a different destiny than them so if I died for them to be safe, that was okay with me.

We continued training and eventually I got so tired that I couldn’t move anymore. My muscles were screaming.

“You did good but you’re going to need to acquire more stamina.”

I looked around me. The clock on the wall read six in the evening.

“Do you know what time you woke me up? It’s six in the evening. I’ve been training for twelve hours straight and you talk about better stamina? How much better can I get?”

“Do you really think the battle is going to last for twelve hours? You need to be ready for whatever is going to come, however long it takes.”

Well it can wait for tomorrow because as for today, I was done and I wasn’t going to stress my body anymore. These Antil Cult men were giving me more trouble than they were worth.

I ached as I stood up, making my way out to have a bath and just go to bed. I met Hazel and Leo having dinner on the way downstairs.

“We’ve been looking all over for you. Well, Leo has been anyways.”

I ruffled his hair affectionately.

“I’ve been training all day. You don’t want to know. I stink so bad, I need to take a bath immediately.”

Leo laughed and held his nose dramatically.

“How was your day? Have you had your bath?”

He nodded and gave me one of his meatballs and even though I rejected it at first, he pushed it toward my face and I ended up snatching it up from the fork.

“No you don’t, sit and join us for dinner as I have no idea where Aiden has wandered off to. Hopefully there’s a brain at the end of that street.”

I laughed and looked at myself. I was still in my training gear and I didn’t feel comfortable sitting down like this.

“I don’t think I can. I’ll just wash up and come back down. I’m so exhausted and if I sit down at this table, you might have to carry me upstairs.”

She shrugged.

“Okay but don’t expect your food to still be here. We may have eaten it.”

I laughed weakly and dragged myself up the stairs with great effort, every muscle protesting.

“How long have you been training? I haven’t seen you all day.”

With so much pain in my heart, I answered honestly.

“Since six am. I hate myself for not looking at the time.”

Her eyes widened in shock and I didn’t even want to talk about it as I continued my journey to my room and just hopped into the shower.

Water really is a therapy because as soon as my body hit that water, I felt like all my troubles had gone away. The instant relief that I felt was so good, so necessary.

In the end, I didn’t even go back down for dinner. My body was too weak to take me down for dinner and as soon as I got out of the shower and dried myself, I got into my nightwear which was a shirt that Elijah had left in my room at some point.

I missed him, I really did and I couldn’t wait for him to come back. We had a lot to talk about. Where was it that he went to that Hazel and Aiden have refused to tell me?

I even asked again earlier and she said not to bother because she wasn’t going to tell me. I told her it seemed so suspicious but she said she didn’t care because she wasn’t still going to tell me anything.

As soon as I laid eyes on my bed, I was drawn to it and I ended up just falling on my bed. I wasn’t going to wake up any earlier than ten am tomorrow. Anybody who wakes me up will feel my wrath.

I heard Yara’s voice as I fell asleep, her words chilling.

“Something is being planned against you in this house and you have to be careful about who you trust.”
