Chapter 87 Confession
ELIJAH
I woke up that morning with a jolt, my heart thudding loudly in my chest.
As I looked around me, I realized that I was in my room.
I could have sworn that I was still with those women. How did I end up back here? Or did I die?
I had a very bad headache and right now wasn’t the time for me to be stressed but I just had to remember how I ended up back here.
Eventually, it hit me and I remembered them saying that they will help me get back home. It must be so cool to have powers like that. Imagine being able to teleport anywhere.
Anyways, now that I was at home, I needed to start working on what they’d told me because it was serious. If those men managed to come here by next week, it would be bloody because Adriana wasn’t ready yet.
But yes, I’d been jealous when I saw her with that boy. Who was he anyways, he didn’t smell like a wolf from my pack but he seemed to know who I was.
Whoever he was, he had some guts because for him to come back again with flowers and hug her in my house while looking right into my eye, he knew what he was doing.
But it was time to keep all that aside as it was gone and we should move forward. There really was no time. The witch had been right, I did love her.
I don’t know if it was because I knew she was my mate but I loved her so much.
I needed to go check on my son who I was sure had missed me so much. I hadn’t told him I’d be traveling because he’d ask to come with me and he’ll make a fuss about it and I won’t be able to tell him no.
As I came out of the room, the first person I bumped into was Hazel.
We just stared at each other for a couple of moments before I spoke.
“Um, hello?”
“What are you doing here? I mean, how did you get here? Wait, when did you get back?”
Should I tell her the truth or?
“A couple of hours ago. Everyone was still asleep so I just snuck in.”
She pulled me in for a hug which was weird because she hated body contact but I just hugged her back. I knew that she had been scared of me going alone.
“I’m happy you made it back. Welcome home, Alpha. I believe we have a lot to talk about.”
I nodded.
“I really need to rest and I need to see my son first.”
“Of course, he has missed you a lot. He asked about you again and again.”
My boy. I said goodbye to her and went to his room. Of course, he was not alone. Adriana was in bed with him with her arm wrapped across his waist.
I felt something in my heart at the sight of them together. It showed just how much she had protected him when I was not around.
I couldn’t believe how I’d thought that she didn’t care about him. I’d made a very huge mistake and wish I hadn’t said what I’d said that day.
It was a good thing that Hazel stopped me before I completed the sentence.
I moved forward and knelt on the bed beside them, patting their hair down.
Adriana was right in front of me.
“Hey, my love. I missed you, I thought about you. I’m really sorry for the way I acted back then, I don’t know what came over me. If anything, you’ve been more of a mother to Leo than his real mother ever was. You’ve cared for him like your own and you’ve been so selfless even though you had no idea how to care for kids.
“I love you, Adriana. From the bottom of my heart, I really do. I mean, I felt jealous when I saw you with that guy. No, Landon is the toad. Sea urchin, yes that’s what he is. The fact that he even had the guts to bring you flowers and hug you made me so angry and I took it too far.
“I’m really sorry and I hope you don’t hold it against me. I’m back for you, my love and I hope we can work things out. Thank you for taking care of my son. He’s never been so happy. You’re so important to the both of us and I hope that one day, you’ll be important to the entire pack.”
Yes, I meant what I said. I wanted to marry her eventually and I was going to. I’d finally found my mate after so long and I wasn’t going to let her slip out of my hands.
If not for the trouble that was brewing, I would have married her as quickly as possible but with all that was going on, I didn’t feel like there was a need to rush. I should take my time and deal with this problem and then maybe later when everything is fine, we could go ahead and settle down.
I wanted a family with her. Her and no one else. My father had been happy in his marriage as far as I could see.
If not for my mother’s disappearance, I would have grown up in a household filled with love but I still did. My father treated me like his son, trained me well and made sure that I became the best.
I knew that he cared about me even though he could be harsh sometimes, he was a good man.
I really hoped that I would be able to find my mother one day. The witches avoided the question when I asked them if they knew where she was. I needed to find her and ask her why she ran away.
I decided to leave them alone to sleep but as I stood up, I felt someone hold my hand back.
