Chapter 101 Clingy Accomplice
HANNAH (THIRD POV)
They had agreed to meet up outside the house in the woods.
She couldn’t let them be seen together after what had happened. Even worse, she couldn’t let her come to the house after what had happened.
To her, it was a mission that had been successful and she was so happy with the outcome.
For the first time, she had won over Adriana and she couldn’t be happier. She knew that that plan of hers was a genius one because it would surely get them what they wanted.
She had made Betty tell the baker to add a lot of chocolate chips, chocolate essence, flavoring and a very thin layer of chocolate with bits in it. She wanted to make sure that Leo didn’t survive it.
Yes, her plan had been to kill him. She wanted to make sure that Elijah hated Adriana so much that he would want her dead.
Betty was already there waiting for her when she got there. As soon as she gave Adriana the cake, she packed up her bags and dropped a resignation letter on the kitchen table and ran out through the back door.
She knew the gravity of what she had done and if she didn’t run for her life, she would be killed instead.
“Why did you want to see me? Didn’t I tell you never to show your face here again?”
Betty was taken aback by her harsh tone but she blamed it on the fact that she called her out of the blue to meet up.
“I’m sorry for calling you on such short notice. It’s just that I wanted to see how you were doing.”
Hannah was irritated and she didn’t try to hide it at all.
“And why would you be asking me that? What made you think we’re friends now?”
She didn’t have to suck up to her anymore or act like she was interested in her pathetic life.
“No, it’s nothing like that. You’ve just not been answering my calls or replying to my texts. I wanted to know if something was wrong.”
Betty was so naive and stupid that she didn’t realize that she had just been used and it was that fact that made Hannah angry.
She hated dull people. She used them a lot to get what she wanted but it still didn’t change the fact that she hated them with a passion.
“I’m not replying to you because I have nothing to say to you. I’m not picking up your calls because I don’t want to hear your voice.”
Betty was hurt and it was evident in her face.
“Listen, before you start crying, let me tell you something. I was never interested in you and I will never be. I only spoke to you because I had something I needed you to do for me. Now that I’ve gotten what I want, I don’t need you anymore so don’t speak to me.”
She began to walk away before she remembered something else she had to tell her.
“And let this be the last time I will ever see you. Don’t ever call me, don’t talk to me. If I ever see you in this pack again, I will end you. If you ever think of telling anyone what happened between us, I will end you.”
She walked away, leaving a very hurt and confused Betty in the woods alone.
Even though she had slept with her just to make her do what she wanted, it didn’t mean that she was going to keep in touch with her.
She went back home, her mood ruined by her previous conversation.
She’d been there when Elijah came back and shouted at Adriana. She’d heard every bit of it and she enjoyed it like a movie, while eating the piece of cake she had cut out when no one was in the room.
Just what she wanted. She hated it that Leo didn’t die because if she ended up with Elijah, she didn’t want to have to take care of him.
She hated him with a passion.
But she could always fix that issue later. As long as some damage had been done to him and it made Elijah so mad that he chased Adriana out, she was fine with it for now.
As long as Adriana was out of the house, there was no one else who would stand up to her. Elijah would finally be able to look at her when she takes care of Leo.
She would have to act like she cared for the boy so that she would be around Elijah a lot. She cared less if he died but right now, she had to put that aside.
The boy would be the only problem. He freezes up at the sight of her and it won’t be good if Elijah sees that. He might tell her not to come around him again.
It’s a good thing he would never be able to speak again but then again, he could sign and Elijah could understand it perfectly.
That boy just kept bringing problems for her everywhere. But she would deal with him very soon. As soon as he was dead, she would step in and be there for Elijah to console him and from there, their love story would blossom.
For now, she had to wait for Leo to come back from the hospital so she could begin her plan.
She went to her room but on the way, she passed Adriana’s former room.
“This is what you get when you mess with me. I warned you. This would soon be my room and Elijah would be coming to stay with me instead of a filthy skunk like you.”
Adriana’s return was highly unlikely so that was something she was happy about.
She felt like the mistress of the house for the first time in months. Ever since Adriana was brought in, she felt like she had been ousted from power.
But that was fine. She was back in her rightful position.
And she won’t let anyone take it away from her.
