CHAPTER 23
VALERIA POV

Though, we were just looking at each other. He is trying to tell me to be calm and relaxed. That is what I am going to do. 

As we made our way towards where the reporter was I couldn't help but notice the females had their gaze directed at him with lust in their eyes.

“I hope you are good enough to go for this interview?” The reporter asked and I answered yes. 

We sat down while the Elder stood up to greet the king. “I am going to ask you a few questions and all you need to do is provide me with answers. Once you are done, go on and enjoy the party.” The reporter said.

“Okay. That won't be a problem.” I replied and we sat down.

“We all know the Lycan king presents you here today to show the world you will be the Luna. When do you plan on making this official?” The reporter asked.

I am sure this will be aired on TV or documented so I need to try my best.

I looked at Xyrus lovingly, my eyes lifted because of the smile. “We will be having our wedding ceremony in a week or a few days from now, according to our plan.

“Okay. The people are curious about how you got to know each other. We have all heard about the rumour of the Lycan king being an ugly beast. What convinced you to get married to him? Or did you already know what the Lycan king looks like?” The reporter asked as she tucked a strand of hair back. 

She is trying to act seductive even in front of him. I think no one thought he would actually look like this.

“I do not exactly get your point? Are you trying to say I might have married him because of his looks?” I asked her and she smiled at me, before his eyes darted towards Xyrus.

Does she really have to make it obvious that she is attracted to him?

“No, my lady. But we were all surprised that the Lycan king is this handsome in person. The world is in shock to see him and even though it was night, his pictures are trending right now. And some said, His beauty outshines yours.” The reporter said and I chuckled. 

I looked at Xyrus to see that he was actually on his phone. It doesn't even look as if he is listening to us.

“Everyone has their own opinion but that is aside. I married Lycan king Xyrus because my parents told me to. But that is not the only reason, because I heard a lot of rumours. I agree with this because I myself am not perfect. No one is perfect and the Lycan king is not an exception. He might be a ruthless man who killed a lot but I know the reason he has been ruling us for the past 15 years is because he is capable,” I said and looked at him. 

Lycan king Xyrus did the same, his eyes were on me and then he smiled 

Oh my goddess. He is fit for this. He will probably win an Oscar for being the best actor.

“He is worthy of the title and this is why no one could tell him to leave the throne. And I keep wondering if he might have had a reason. He might be cruel but he won't act that way to the people he loves and my assumptions may be wrong….” I said, pausing and the reporter became curious. 

While my gaze was locked on Lycan king Xyrus, I could see something flash in his eyes but I didn't know what exactly.

However, I am convinced that he actually agreed to my answer.

“What will happen if your assumptions are wrong?” The reporter asked and held his gaze.  

“Then I will run away,” I said and Lycan king Xyrus' eyes twitched. I think he is afraid I am going to mess up this interview. The elders laughed among themselves including the reporter.

“And what do you think now? Are your assumptions wrong?” She asked and this is the moment I chose to move closer to Xyrus.

I placed my head on his chest and rested my hand on his thighs. They are strong with muscles but also soft. I wonder what it will feel like to have those thick thighs grip….

“Valeria please!” I screamed in my head. That seems to clear my head of all these dirty thoughts.

“No. He has proven beyond every measure that he is a great man. I know a lot of people won't see this side of him but I want to see them all.” I said and the Elders nodded their heads, agreeing with me.

I did it.

I fucking won their heart.

“Wow. I think you are the luckiest man tonight. You have found yourself a worthy woman.” The reporter said to Xyrus.

“She is my safe haven and I know I chose the right person," he replied and kissed my cheeks.

My skin prickled with goosebumps when he did that. I clenched my hands and in the process, my hand mistakenly brushed something hard.

Lycan king Xyrus stiffened and realisation dawned on me. He has quite a huge dick. Because I explained why I had to feel it when he was wearing pants.

I cleared my throat and he kept his hand on the phone he was holding.

“So these questions are directed towards you my king.” The reporter said and continued. 

“Some said you might not really love Ms Valeria because she is not bearing your mark. We know you are supposed to seal the bond the moment you guys recognise each other. Are you still planning to mark her? Or you are not fated mates?” The reporter asked and my breath seized.

What is he going to say?

I can't bear his back because he will find out who I am. My blood.

“I will not answer these questions until the wedding night.” Lycan king Xyrus said and I finally breathed out.
