Chapter 121 Traitors!
Trixie's POV
Were all three headed down for dinner. We're going to join the guests tonight. We enter the dining room, me on both my guys arms like normal. Benjamin and his guys are of course spread out throughout the entire dining room. But for tonight, he made sure Zak and a few others that he thinks that could not be loyal to him, sat with him tonight.
"Benjamin, why don't you all come and join us at our table?" Caden says as we stop at where they are starting to sit down.
"Thank you" he says as he bows his head and we all go over to our table.
"Hello Trinity" I say with a smile as Coban sits down and pulls me onto his lap.
"Hello Trixie. Oh I love your dress. It's so adorable." Trinity says as she sits on Benjamin's lap. Benjamin made sure Zak is sitting diagonal from me, right next to us.
"Trix, something is off with him. I don't like him." Leigha said as she snarled up her nose. "I'm getting that vibe as well. How about Dante, anything?" I say, as I flicker my gaze down the table at everyone. "Oh, who's that?" Leigha says as her attention peaks. "I'm not sure but I can find out." I tell her as a kitchen staff serves dinner to our table.
"Is it not buffet style tonight, babe." I asked Coban as I turned to face him. "It is love, they are just serving our table." he says as he places a kiss on my nose. I gave him a big smile and turn back around. "Guys" I said to Coban and Caden through the link. "Yes love" Coban answers.
"I have to talk to Zak. Leigha and I both sense something odd with him. Strange vibes come from him. And his scent is off." I say, as Coban gives me a bite of steak that he cut to the perfect size.
"I got you." Caden says matter of factly.
"So Zak. Thank you for taking the information to Benjamin for us that day. We really appreciate it. My queen here." he says as he motions to me. "would like to shake your hand and congratulate you for a job well done." he said as Zak puffed out his chest and looked around the table.
"Real subtle babe. Really." I say, as I roll my eyes and shake my head. Couldn't he thought of anything different? I mean, that was like so strange.
Zak gets up and walks over to me. He stops just before me and reaches out his hand. "My Queen" he says, and I reached to shake his hand. "Deceit! Lies! Betrayal! Traitor!" Leigha spits out at me. "Thank you Zak." I say, as he still has my hand in his hold. "My queen. Anything for the kingdom, the crown." he says and smiles at me. I nod my head at him and try to pull my hand out of his. He holds on tighter. I try to jerk my hand out of his hold, this time it works, but when I do, I elbow Coban in the ribs. Zak smirks at that. Coban gives Zak an evil stare. A stare not to mess with him.
He sits back down and I look at Benjamin and then at Trinity.
"Trinity, would you like to go to the buffet? I hear there's something special on it tonight." I say with a smile and a pleading look, hoping she will catch on.
"Oh yes. I would love to. I hope it's something sweet." she squeals as Benjamin releases the hold on her. I nod to Benjamin, he understood as he nodded back.
"Guys, Don't trust Zak. He's part of the shadow pack. He's using a cover-up for a scent. He's deceiving everyone." I say through the link as I kiss Coban's cheek and stand up.
"I'm going to tell Trinity. She could warn Benjamin. He put something in his and Trinity's drink." I say as Trinity and I walked towards the buffet.
"Whats wrong Trixie, I know you don't want anything from the bar." she giggles as she looks at me. "Your correct. Leigha and I can sense intentions. We can read people." I say as we reach for a plate. "Benjamin doesn't trust a few of his men and for good reasons, his biggest one was Zak." I say as we're dishing out some peach cobbler on our plates.
"That's why you wanted to shake his hand?" Trinity said as she caught on. I nod my head and turned my head to look at her. "We had to do it subtly, without raising suspicions. I'm sorry to involve you." I say. "Zak put something in your and Benjamin's drink. He is using a cover-up for his scent. He is part of the shadow pack. Could you please link Benjamin now and let him know." I asked with pleading eyes.
Trinity's eyes glaze over. Good. She's talking to him. I look back at the table. Benjamin's eyes go big and round. She told him. He knows. He masks his surprise real well. He looks at me and nods subtly. "Thank you I'm .." I started to say and she interrupted. "No Trix, thank you. You have been really kind to us. Even after everything I've done to you. Thank you." she says and reaches for a hug.
"You do remember, I can read you right." I smirk. "I know your intentions are genuine." I say as I give her a big smile.
Trinity piles her plate full of dessert, I look down at her plate. "What, we got to sell it, right. Might as well get the good stuff while we have an excuse." she chuckles. I agree and I follow her lead. We both get back to the table. We are carrying 2 big plates each.
The kitchen staff came and collected all the drinks on the table and served water and wine. I know that was Coban. That man thinks of everything.
While we were sitting around chatting, and eating our dinner, Caden, Coban and I met with all of his men. I found out so far there's three of his men that are not loyal.
Trinity and I both shared the dessert on our plates with our men, hesitantly.
After dinner, Caden invited Benjamin, Trinity and Dante upstairs to our quarters for a movie night.
