Chapter Ninety Nine
Chapter Ninety Nine
Keira's Pov
‘How disrespectful!’ Maini spat from within me. I could feel her anger burning, the heat spreading, threatening to consume my whole body with the force, ‘Do as your Luna commands!’ She snarled, and my claws slid out without me even making them to.
The fangs also sliced their way out, and the next few minutes was a complete bloodbath.
I didn't even know what I was doing. All I knew was that blood was splashing onto my face and chest in all directions.
Bones snapping, blood gushing, men screaming, teeth falling out, flesh pierced…
Maini wielded my body like a weapon as I dodged, smashed, thrust, grabbed, struck, and did everything with immense speed and depth.
Before I knew it, I was standing, breathing hard, my chest heaving heavily, blood dripping from my fingers as the men lay everywhere around me.
“Perfect.” I heard Luna say, as she began to clap.
Then I turned to her, with a little smile, “Thanks to Valerie, I was able to strengthen Maini.” I replied, a little shy in front of her.
“Maini. Is that little bugger still alive? She must have missed me.” Luna teased, laughing, as she walked towards me.
‘I didn't miss her one bit.’ Maini said from within.
“You did well, Maini. I'm proud of you. You did this all alone without me. Now imagine if we were together again.” Luna smoothened my clothes, and I blushed pink.
“So you say the festival is coming soon. Well, we'll have to wait. Then we'll kidnap those damn concubines. We will also have to stay out of Zane's sight for now. Just until we can have a proper plan. Have you told them about Valerie and Damien?”
“No, but why can't we make things easier, and tell Zane that you're back, so the whole concubine thing doesn't have to happen?”
“When those men saw that we were two, what did they say?”
“Dark magic,” I replied.
“Zane lost his mother to dark magic, and is overly sensitive about it. The moment he sees us together. Two beings who look extremely alike, his bad memories will be triggered, and he'll be unable to hear a thing. The only thing we can do is expose Valerie and Damien about their plans. Then he can see for himself.”
“Whatever you say, I'm on board with it. I really don't mind. We only just need to get myself back to my world.” I replied, and we began to make our way back out of the forest.
Luna began to run her hands in the leaves, “All the memories I've had in this place are coming back to me.” She said softly.
“The same goes for me. I'm starting to feel like I'm truly back.” Elaine said, smiling, and I looked at them. They seemed like they'd gone through a lot. They had each other through the crisis, but I had no one, and it had been extremely hard for me.
When we got back to the Palace, they both stopped, and Luna closed her eyes, lowering herself into a crouch, “Everything is coming back to me now. Zane, Ryder, Caleb…!” She placed a hand on her chest as her expression lightened up, “Elaine! My memories! They're back!” She squealed, and they both held hands, squeezing and smiling as they welcomed newer memories.
Very soon, I'd be in their position.
The front gates were free of guards. Damn, Valerie had really done a lot, putting her men at the borders.
We all made our way to Valerie's quarters, slipping in through the backdoor.
I led them quickly to my room, as we hid from every single person we happened to run into. When we were safely in the room Valerie had designed for me, I took a quick bath, taking off the maid's clothes before going back to the maid's quarters to get more maid's clothes.
I helped them dye their hair, so they could look less like their real selves, and wouldn't be easily recognized.
And it actually worked.
For the next two days, everything was quiet. There weren't any problems. Zane was still searching for me, and Damien was occupied with how his guards all died in the forest, with no proof as to what happened to them.
And finally, the day of the festival dawned on us, coming way too far.
“Remember, the first plan is to get the concubines and hide them while the Alphas are still there at the festival. I'll go straight to the festival.” Luna said, and I nodded, taking the tools I might need with me.
Should they try to argue and fight back, then I would put them in their right places. Where would I even take them? Well, since they were haughty, I could just hide them in the walls of the Palace, and they'd do well to find their way out.
That's if they hadn't been poisoned already.
When I left the room, the whole place was almost empty. Everyone was busy out on the grounds of the Palace. I looked towards the skies as I bounded out.
“Heavens, help us survive this day.” I begged desperately, my hands clamped together.
It was my last shot to go home.
I walked quickly, making my way into the Palace, which was buzzing with maids and guards trying to meet the demands of so many people present at the festival.
I could hear the loud sounds of people speaking, the sound of music bursting out, drums, pipes, harps, trumpets, and all…
I headed straight to the throne room, and was lucky to meet the women there, giggling among themselves.
“Who wants to die?” I asked, slashing out my claws, and they instantly got to their feet.
“Jealous bitch. How did you find your way here? Do you know the guards are still searching for you…” Alysia began, with spite.
“Look here, I'm not here for shit. Are you fighting or doing exactly what I'm saying? You must have heard of twenty-eight guards dying in the forest? Well, that's me. And today, you're just three. Are you coming with me without a struggle, or do you want to struggle?” I asked, with a fake smile that tried to conceal my impatience.
Alysia bit her lip, then looked around.
“What will you do to us?”
“You're not touching my men, so, of course, I'm taking you far from them. Now follow me!” I snapped, making my way out to the door.
Mission accomplished.
A smile lit my lips.
“Did you hear? The Luna's on the battlegrounds! She's going to face off the Alphas! She has called all the guards!” I heard a frantic guard shout.
What? Luna couldn't fight Zane in my body! No way! She'd be crushed.
Keira. I suddenly heard a voice that made me freeze.
It was Elixir!
Now. You can make your wish.
