This action shocked Selene so much that she audibly gasped as she could feel the restraint being placed around her, in her long long life she could not recall one single creature with the power or ability to do such a thing but here was her own daughter, her own flesh and blood and essence, trapping her because she wanted an answer. Selene didn’t know whether to be extremely cross with her child, or extremely proud. She was clearly developing abilities that were not directly linked to herself and she thought to herself “this is going to be very interesting indeed”. ‘Mother’ Genni said ‘I want to know if Sara and Greg‘s baby will have any of my ability’? Looking down at her daughter now she declared that she had never heard anything so preposterous. This ruffled Genni to the point where she now stepped forward toward her Mother and yelled at her demanding an answer. Looking slightly shocked at her audacity Selene said “No, the baby will be born as a normal werewolf cub to the parents’. Sighing in relief and feeling her tight shoulders sag Genni bowed her head toward her mother and made to step back at this time it was Selen’s turn to hold on. Shocked by the restraint Genni looked up in her Mother’s beautiful face. ‘Why do you do this mother’ ask Genni almost frightened now. Selene moved closer and although she still stood within her light she was only inches away from Genni’s face. ‘I told your mate that there were going to be sacrifices made to have you in their presence. I need you to realise what that sacrifice is going to be Genevieve’. Flabbergasted by this statement and looking questioningly at Sapphire who looked blankly back at her, she pressed her Mother again for more information to which Selene responded ‘Have you not realised that you cannot be with child Genevieve’. Frozen with shock she had wondered why after all of her and Jonas‘s lovemaking she has not yet pregnant and with baited breath she waited for the answer ‘You my child are the essence of me, I had to create you using some of the most powerful magic in this realm and there was only enough magic to create one wolf and one human. The magic within you does not extend to your womb. This is a Sacrifice that you will both have to make. Living a life together without children will mean that the Quint name will no longer be linked to the Grand Alpha title which will be passed to the next favourable family. Stopping now she could not gauge the reaction from her daughters and Selene did not like to be on the back foot. As the Moon Goddess she always knew what to do, what to say and how to behave but today her two precious daughters had shaken her with their ability. For Selene had realised during the conversation that Genni was in fact not the one holding her there but it was Sapphire. The magic within Sapphire was a little stronger than the magic in Genni. With neither of them knowing this they just continued to be as they are. Selene needed to move back into her light as she had been within this realm for too long. She told her daughters quickly that she was leaving but she would contact them again as and when was needed and with that she vanished. Genni opened her eyes and was extremely happy to see that she was still on the large bed but this time her husband had joined her and seem to be sleeping peacefully. Genni hopped out of the bed quickly and took off the robe then claimed under the blankets and snuggled up to her husband who automatically opened his arms to her and resting on his chest Genni slipped into a troubled sleep.
Genni couldn’t sleep, she tossed and turned for hours until she finally gave up around 4am. Leaving the bed she placed a gentle kiss on Jonas’s forehead then grabbing her robe she left the room closing the door quietly behind her. As all the rooms were soundproofed Genni hadn’t heard any noise until she stepped into the hallway. Frowning a little she followed the first noise she had heard and found it a floor down where there was a flurry of activity in the form of cleaners. Sensing her now the Omega’s that were on this floor stopped what they were doing. Some gasped some began whispering frantically to the omega next to them. Then all of them bowed their heads and kept them down. Besides being shocked at the activity Genni felt awful that she never knew that this happened in the night. Walking part way down the hallway Genni stopped and just looked at the 6 She-Wolves around her. They seemed to be waiting for her to leave so they could carry on working but Genni had other ideas. ‘Ladies’ she said softly ‘if you will follow me, please’. Looking shocked and a bit scared all the Omega’s did as she asked and followed the Luna down stairs to the kitchen. Having added to the group with any worker she found by the time they all got into the kitchen there were 15 omega’s all looking terrified. After gesturing them all to sit by the large table Genni started a pot of coffee. One of the Omega’s jumped up at this point and tried to take over but their luna was insistent that they sit down. After a few minutes Genni asked them all if they wanted a cup of coffee as she took one herself. Looking around the smile on her face faulted when she saw not one of them move. They were all looking at each other not knowing what the should do. Smiling widely again Genni mentioned something about using her Aura if she needed to and as she sat down she was thrilled to see the first one go and get a coffee and come back. After this, one by one they all had a cup of steaming coffee in front of them as they all sat around the same table as their Luna waiting to know why they were there.
‘I’m ashamed to say that I was not aware that all this happened during the night. I’ve asked you all here to have a coffee and a chat. I’d like to meet all of you, learn your names, how old you are. That sort of thing. So… who would like to start’?
There was silence for a few seconds then a girl with bright red hair and a very pretty face spoke up ‘Luna, I am Trisha, I am 19. I live with my parents as I am yet to find a mate. And it’s a huge honour to meet you in person’. Smiling at Trisha, Genni thanked her for going first and asked where she lived within the Pack lands. ‘I live in the village, Luna. We all do’ Trisha gestured now to all the girls sitting there. Another spoke up after that and before long Genni had learnt all their names, where they where from and how old they were. Genni was surprised to learn that they were all 19. Saying this to the group the girl called Taylor answered ‘Luna, as we have all now lifted school and have not gone into a profession we are expected to make ourselves available to the pack’. Not sure she had heard that right Genni asked the girl to expand on what she had said but before Taylor could speak a rather abrupt young girl with a slight scowl on her face answered ‘Basically, we are like slaves to whoever needs something doing. From babysitting brats to cleaning this pack house and everything in between. And it only stops if you find a paid job or if you find your mate, then your expected to get knocked up straight away and start producing the next generation of wolves for the pack’! There was a lot of gasps and groans now as the girl called Lesley was jabbed with elbows and told to settle down. The girls were all very agitated now because of what Lesley had said and although they had tried and failed to stop her as they though her very rude, not one of the girls corrected her. “This needs addressing” she heard Sapphire say. “Yes it does” agreed Genni.
