Like getting blood out of a stone

‘You mentioned that Greg felt the same way as you? Does this mean that Molly and Peter feel that way too’? Sarah looked sad all of a sudden and not lifting her head to look at Genni she said ‘Mom thinks the same as we do but dad thinks that we have been given a gift, he doesn’t understand Ginny. I am almost crippled with fear that the children of Kane will take my baby away from me’. That was the last time Sara spoke for about an hour as all she did during that time was sob on her best friends shoulder. Genni was no longer Luna, she was simply Genni. She let her friend cry herself out and as she did Genni murmured words of encouragement and finally using a little bit of her ability, she calmed Sara and the latter stop crying. Genni hated having to use her ability on anyone, let alone people she considered her family. She just couldn’t see Sara cry anymore. Waiting for the men to come back, Genni stated that she was going to go to bed. Today had been very taxing on her. She needed some alone this time with her mother she was determined to speak with her.

Alone in the bedroom Genni took off her earrings and necklace as she prepared to have a shower, stripping off and then stepping under the hot water felt glorious and Genni spent a good few minutes under the hot spray. After quickly washing herself she stepped out and wrapped a thick white robe around herself, tipped her head upside down and contained her hair in another towel. Then she made her way to the bed.

The bed was huge, it had to be really seeing as Jonas Quint slept there and as he was a massive man he needed a massive bed, when Genni was on the bed on her own she felt like a child. As Genni was on the right side of curvy she loved to lay on the bed and resting on Jonas they would plan out their future.

Having exited the bathroom her hair need needed to be patted dry hair before lying down. When this was done Genni climbed onto the large bed and closing her eyes she connected to Sapphire straight away. Conversing with her wolf for awhile Sapphire agreed that they needed to speak with their mother. They were not going anywhere until she appeared to them. They waited patiently both just chatting, they spoke to each other for what seemed like an age but finally their patience was rewarded when the shimmering heat that signalled their mothers arrival appeared. Genni felt a little insulted that her mother did not deem them important enough to appear before them, instead she simply sent her voice. Genni immediately launched into a rushed speech about the pixie, Zachary, the Faye Queen Sophia, her mother was silent as she listened to everything that Genni was saying and Sapphire, who had little or no patience virtually yelled at her mother to respond. The heat intensified and they both knew that their Mother was going to be present very soon and they both waited. Soon after Selene herself appeared within the shimmering heat and light. She looked at her daughters and said ‘speak’ Genni told their Mother once again the information that she hadn’t long heard about. Genni told her Mother what she believed she had a responsibility to inform Selene. Things that were Pertinent to her trying to keep the peace. Selene just listened when Genni stated the last part which of course included dear Sara, Selene held up her hand. Seeing this Genni stopped talking. With a voice that was almost like a gentle breeze blowing across your face Selene addressed her daughters issues. ‘I have shown myself to you today as it was apparent that neither of you were going to leave this secret place until you’d seen me. But I tell you this, neither of you shall demand to see me again. If and when I think I need to convey something to you, you will know. And as for your worries Genevieve, these are yours to sort out. That is in fact the reason that I sent you to the other Realm, is it not? Sapphire you need to take charge of the Warriors. I did not gift such a special wolf to my daughter for her to sit back and watch somebody else train my warriors. Looking shocked at this both Sapphire and Ginny glared at their mother. Genni, who is getting rather pissed off with the Goddess’s tone, respect or no respect her mother had to be told so squaring her shoulders she stood up to the Goddess for the first time. ‘Mother, we get that we should not have summoned you and we both fully understand that we are not to do this again but what I don’t understand is why you take the news that Zachary has made his move with little to no interest! Is this not the very reason I was created? Is this not the very reason I was sent to the other realm? We were blindsided by the fact that Zachary could penetrate all of the protection that Hilda had put up around our pack’. ‘Yes’ said Selene in a dry tone ‘Hilda, when I sent you to the other realm it was with the understanding that the Grand Mage himself would join you on your quest for peace, for whatever reason that didn’t happen, did it? Genni and Sapphire could feel their Mothers disappointed gaze upon her them and it wasn’t a pleasant feeling, almost stuttering now Sapphire joined Genni in standing up for themselves. ‘Mother when you told us of our history, when you spoke about your past with the immortal ones you mentioned the Grand Mage a few times and Genni and myself were very grateful to know that we would be assisted by a Mage. But, for you to suggest that we have let you down somehow because Hilda is our Mage is ludicrous’. Genni looked at Sapphire, Sapphire could see the terror within her and She waited, knowing she was going to be punished for her insolence but to their surprise Selene started to chuckle. ‘Well’ there you are now’ she said her tone lighter than it was before. ‘That is what I want to see. That is why I placed you in the other realm. I know you were not to blame for the choice of Mage that you were given but you also didn’t question it and to win the war that is coming all of the higher stationed creatures need to be on the same side’

‘Mother’ cried Genni. Sofia the Queen of the Faye has openly declared herself an ally to the children of Kane’.

Yes I am aware of the situation’ said Selene slowly. ‘It is not unsalvageable’ she told her daughters. Frowning now Genni looked first at Sapphire who seem to shrug, then back at her Mother. ‘What do you mean it is not unsalvageable’ both wolf and human shouted out. ‘After your display this morning with the Queen I believe she has started to reevaluate her alliance with the children of Kane. I also believe that within the next few weeks you will be approached by a member of her council asking to join your side. Sapphire looked slightly perplexed by this statement and once again Genni had to step forward and speak at their mother who was clearly ready to leave their presence. ‘How are we ever to trust the Faye after they openly declared themselves with Zachary? This makes no sense Mother’. The moon goddess started to shimmer within her light and they both knew that she was leaving but Genni needed an answer so unbeknown to herself she stopped her Mother from leaving.
