Oh, that’ Genni shrugged. ‘I don’t know what to tell you, one second I saw my friend laying in her fathers arms.dead. Next I was holding her and cursing my mother.’ Sara, who was still sitting surrounded by her loved ones, eyes bulged and she gasped ‘you did what? You cursed your Mom out, for me?’. Once again, everyone was watching Genni. ‘Well, yes. I can’t remember what I said exactly but it was along the lines of, you want me to fight this coming war for you and then you take away my grounding peg, I told her she couldn’t do that to me. I then felt my arms go heavy and I could feel power flowing through them. I assumed that my Mother was healing Sara and using my body as a conduit’. Genni stopped talking but everyone was just staring at her as if she were insane. Then four or five voices spoke at once ‘you cant talk to the goddess like that’ , ‘I think your going to be in trouble’ , ‘maybe we should prayer and give thanks for the miracle and maybe apologise for her daughters little outburst’. The last thing said came out of Rosemary’s mouth, and everyone turned to look at her now. ‘Do you think it’s a good idea to rub her nose in the fact her Demi-goddess of a daughter, once again changes the rules on life?’ Sara said this while trying to maintain a straight face, Genni grinned as well. They all looked at each other and then one by one they started to laugh. In Molly and Peter’s case the laughter was mixed with tears of gratitude and happiness that they still had a daughter. Although Molly had the nagging suspicion that the Goddess herself had nothing to do with it, and it had everything to do with the remarkable women wrapped in the Alpha’s arms.
‘Ok, so we have a stable shed how my mate rose from the dead, can we please discuss what we are going to do about Silas and his pack of out of control Mutts?’ Greg was looking at his alpha when he said this, Phil agreed with him. ‘Something needs to be done, if it was Silas’s pack that tortured Hilda, then we need to know why, son’. As he addressed Jonas Rosemary stood up next to her mate, ‘you know I don’t like conflict with the other packs,Jonas. Saying that, the council needs to know that members of our pack were attacked by his’. Still standing close to the door Daniel spoke up ‘Alpha, if I may be so bold, I believe the council would simply tell you that this was a matter for the Grand Alpha. As you have dominance over all wolf kind. You must travel to Silas and the Richdale Pack’. Nodding at what his father and Genni’s father said Jonas agreed that this had to be dealt with in the official way and that meant visiting the Pack as the Grand Alpha. ‘I will leave tomorrow..’ before he could finish Genni chimed in and corrected him ‘I think you mean We, WE will leave tomorrow’. Jonas was about to protest when Wyatt stepped forward and told the group it would be his honour to guard them both on their journey to the other pack lands. Greg stood as well but Peter placed his hand on the younger mans shoulder and said quietly, ‘I think it only right that the Beta of this pack and his mate should stay behind and look after the pack, son. And because of that I would like to accompany you both’ gasping out loud Molly stood up and said ‘not without me your not. Genevieve is my Luna, I am her Beta. I can also protect her, that is my Job’. Holding up his hands in frustration Jonas said agitatedly ‘look, we all can’t go! I understand Genni coming with me, and welcome the help she will be but no one else. Apart from some warriors’. He finished somewhat sheepishly. Greg was shaking his head about to argue back as was Peter when Genni held up her hand. As usual, the room fell silent. ‘I appreciate that all of you wish to protect us. And we both love you for it’ she looked at Jonas quickly. ‘If we go there like some full on investigation team this Silas will clam up for sure. But, if Jonas and I go alone then we can call it an official visit to introduce Me to the Packs around us and beyond. We need to start rallying more packs anyway. As you all now we have already scheduled some. This will be a perfect cover. We go too one maybe two packs before we get to Silas.’ Looking for agreement from Jonas, Genni squared her Shoulders and waited for the argument. But, no argument came. In fact, Jonas was smiling. ‘Is my mate the cleverest creature you’ll ever meet?’ Genni was overjoyed that Jonas had not only listened to her but had agreed with her plan. Turning from him now to look at all the others Genni could see pride in the faces of Molly and Rosemary, apprehension in the faces of Greg and Peter and lastly Genni could see fear in the eyes of her father. ‘Please, Genevieve, let a few other people go. If it is indeed supposed to look like a regular Grand Alpha visit to the packs then it would make sense that the Grand Alpha and the Grand Luna would have security in place around them’. Looking pleadingly at Jonas Daniel carried on ‘I don’t mean take an entourage with you and I also believe that the Beta’s should stay with the Pack. I suggest that, as Genevieve father and council member I should be the one to travel with you as well as two warriors’. Martha clasped Daniel’s hand and worry was etched all over her face but she said nothing. Knowing it was not her place. Clasping her hand back Daniel was still looking at his Alpha. Jonas walked to his desk and sat in the chair, he put both elbows on it and tented his fingers as he thought about what Daniel had said. He agreed that a smaller party is a more prudent party but he also agreed that having a member of the council, however low his place be, would make it look more official and Silas could not take it as a threat. Making his mind up he started barking out orders. ‘Daniel, I agree with you coming with us as a member of the council of elders, Wyatt you too shall come along. Please choose two other men to accompany us as protection detail. Greg, Molly as Beta’s it is your roles to take care of all pack needs while we are away. Dad, I need your experience here as well. There may be tough decisions to be made and I would feel less anxious knowing you and Mom were here to guide both Beta’s.’ When he finished Wyatt asked permission to leave the meeting so he could make a start on choosing the right warriors to come with them. As he headed for the door Genni called to him and said ‘Wyatt, bring skilled fighters with us, but leave the warriors here. They will protect this pack more efficiently than a lower class of fighter.’ Looking at Jonas for confirmation and getting it, Wyatt left. Rosemary and Phil walked over to the desk and said that Jonas had made the right decision to listen to Genni, ‘she was sent to us for this very reason’ Rosemary reminded him. Hugging her Mother in Law Genni thanked her for her confidence in her. Molly got Genni’s attention, not wanting to leave her daughters side. ‘We will go now too, apart from the fact we are all emotionally wrung out I need to prepare for you leaving. And as Sara needs a bit of rest I ask you Rose, to help me sort out a small schedule.?’ Rosemary, hearing her name and turning immediately agreed to step in her sara as the latter needed a few days of rest after what she had been through. Although wolves heal very quickly and rarely had scars as Sara had lost so much blood and was fatally wounded Genni went one step further than rest. ‘Sara, I want you to leave here now and go straight to the hospital to see Julia. Don’t argue, please. You are still looking very pale and you may need some medical help now’. Molly couldn’t agree more with this and told Genni she would take her there right now. Seeing Greg’s face and realising that he felt pushed out again genni suggested that Greg take her as he needed to be seen by the doc as well. Plus Genni gently reminded Molly of her Beta duties. Agreeing that Greg should take Sara he walked up to his mate and scooped her in his arms, bridal style and winking at Genni in thanks he asked Martha to open the door and off he went with Sara stating that she could walk just fine!!
