While they walked back, Genni and Jonas were approached a few times by pack members who wanted to show reverence to them as individuals and not just as part of the pack. Genni was so humbled and appreciated every one of them. By the time they reached the pack house, Jonas had to send a link to everyone instructing them to leave Genni to have the rest of the night with her family. It then turned into bows and pack members whispering ‘Blessed be’ as they walked past. Nodding her head now and then in acknowledgement Genni could feel a headache coming on. She felt so tired at this point she was barely able to lift her feet to walk up the stairs, seeing this Rosemary suggested that Genni goes straight to bed but shaking her head Genni said “No, I want to hear their reasons for what they did tonight” and holding Genni’s cheek in her palm “ then maybe let your mate Carry you a little while, you're exhausted my dear” Rosemary looked at Genni with genuine concern showing on her face. “Genevieve, I believe Rosemary may be right, you do look shattered”. Nodding at her father and Rosemary Genni went gratefully into her mate's arms. Jonas picked her up as if she weight nothing and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead started to climb the stairs. Jonas was holding Genni like she was porcelain. Looking at his sister Lucas could see the love between the two and felt a pang of longing for his mate, wherever she may be. Clapping his father on the back and climbing the stairs together Lucas told his father that they had all made the right decision. “It just feels right being her now, do you know what I mean?” And when everyone agreed with him a gave a contented sigh. When they had all made it to the third floor Phil rushed ahead and opened the door to the Alpha’s apartment. Placing Genni on the floor now so she could walk in by herself Jonas stood back while everyone entered and made their way to the living area. When they were all sitting Greg made to leave and Genni said in an authoritative tone “And where do you think you are going”? “Luna I don’t think this concerns me, it is about your friends and family I thought it best I leave you all to it and retreat to my apartment”. Greg looked expectantly at his Luna waiting for her dismissal when Genni shocked him by saying “I consider you part of my family Greg. Please stay” Greg reddened slightly at being referred to as part of his Luna’s family and before he sat down he stated, “You have given me a great honour You Grace, I am now and forever be your willing servant”. Bowing his head to show his neck in complete submission he joined the family and sat next to Rosemary and Phil. Genni didn’t think anything of this and had she not been as tired as she was she wouldn’t have missed the blush on Sara’s face and the fact she couldn’t look at Greg.
“I think we should begin the explanations before sleeping beauty here keels over,” Lucas said with a chuckle. “Yes, let's begin” Sitting forward slightly Daniel started to explain his actions.
“After you left with Jonas to travel to your new home I was happy for you, relieved you had finally met your wolf but ashamed of myself for what you had been through. The next morning your…Sylvia returned after spending the night with her friends and just assumed that we would slip back into the routine of Alpha and Luna of the Blue Diamond Pack. Once I told her that I had no intention of hiding the true nature of our relationship from the pack Sylvia became quite irate, she accused me of threatening her position within the pack dynamic”. Daniel was talking a little lower in tone now as is he were ashamed of what he was saying. “I’m not going to repeat the story of how she tricked me into marking her as you are already aware of it. What she had done to you was the final straw. I did what I should have done when I found out that she had miscarried the pup. But finally seeing her now with clear eyes I rejected her and then banished her from my pack lands. while I still had the authority to do so. I have to admit that having that particular task as my last task as the Alpha of the blue diamond pack felt like closure. Having spoken to Lucas about this and after many discussions between Peter and his family, Lucas and myself, we all came to the same conclusion. As you all know my alpha line only ran back two generations I opened up the field to allow anybody who wished to fight for the title. Lucas and I did not fight but we did judge. Some of our strongest warriors tried out but you have to be more than a strong fighter to be a good alpha. In the end, Cliff became the Alpha and everybody was happy about it. I know you and Cliff had a special relationship with Genni and I’m sure you will hear from him soon as I know he wanted to tell you face to face.
I was never a good alpha to my pack, yes I was a good council member and a good Elder but having had to distance myself over the years from Sylvia meant that I had a disengaged type of relationship with my pack so when I decided to step down as alpha they accepted it without any quarrel. I’m pretty sure that the majority of the park wanted a new alpha and I’m sure that before I passed the title to Lucas there would’ve been a challenge. I did of course I offered Lucas the position of alpha first. After I offered it, Lucas informed me that he had no intentions of staying in the blue diamond pack when his sister needed protection, support and a little bit of sass that only a big brother could give. Lucas then stood down as the heir to the title and then Peter and his family did the same, we all agreed that we needed to be with you Genevieve, so we broke allegiance with the blue diamond pack and after speaking with Jonas on a few occasions we asked him if we could all join the luna shadow pack and become your support network as we all realised the importance of why you are here”. Daniel looked around at them all now and nodding to Peter and his family and Lucas, Daniel assured Genni that everyone had decided to leave the blue diamond pack and to Vow fealty to the Luna shadow pack but more importantly, they all vowed fealty to Genevieve herself of their own free will.
Having sat in silence while Daniel spoke, Genni found she didn’t know what to say, she swallowed a few times as she felt her throat had gone numb with all the emotion that she was feeling. “So you all left the blue diamond pack, left your stations within the pack structure to join the Luna shadow pack, my pack so you could support me? Looking at every one of them Genni said “I honestly don’t know what to say. I am so overwhelmed right now with the enormity of what you’ve all done for me”.
“All I will say for now is how ecstatic you have made me, I am incredulous at the sacrifice you have all made and please don’t think for one moment that my reaction to hearing all of this has diminished the impact in any way, I’m just so tired. I wish I could get more excited because in my head I’m doing cartwheels”. Sara gave a small giggle at the thought of Genni doing cartwheels around the room but stopped abruptly when Greg joined in the laughter. Again, not catching on Genevieve Stood up and kissed everyone on their cheeks she excused herself for the night. Before she made it to the bedroom Genni could hear the others stand up and leave for their rooms. Jonas entered the bedroom now and seeing his mate look so exhausted that she could barely stand he made the decision to gather her up, help her strip her top layer off then turn her so her back was to his front. As Genni snuggled into the warmth that now surrounded her she kissed the arm that lay across her waist “Sleep now my love, you will have a busy day ahead of you tomorrow as you will start your Luna duties. You will need to choose a Beta and possibly a gamma. You’re also going to have to visit all of the She wolves within the pack over the next few weeks. I know this is going to be a lot of work but I also know that you you are more than capable. I love you my little wolf”. And murmuring that she loved him she drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
