There was a knock on the apartment door and calling first to announce himself Gregory walked in. Joining Jonas and Genni on the sofa he sat in one of the armchairs and popped his feet up on the table. Jonas raised his eyebrows with a WTF kind of expression and Genni giggled. “Oh, sorry. I've been running all over getting everything prepared for the pack meeting later and I’m pretty knackered” he apologised as he removed his feet from the table. Genni asked if he would have done that had she not been here and when Gregory nodded she whacked Jonas in the ribs “Jonas, I don’t want Gregory to feel uncomfortable when he calls here to see us, let him be” smiled at Gregory And told him to sit however he wanted to. “Thank you your Grace but Alpha Jonas had every right to check me. I should have remembered my place and had respect for You”. Genni was about to say something else when Jonas removed the arm he had around her and sat forward slightly “Are you sure EVERYTHING is in place”? “Yes Alpha” replied Gregory. Genni shifted on the sofa and tucked her legs underneath her “If I may ask, why do you call Jonas Alpha and not Grand Alpha? I’ve noticed it with a few of your pack members, they call you Alpha as well, I’m sorry to say I’m a little confused” blushing lightly Genni cast her eyes downward.
“If I may Alpha” said Gregory softly and waiting for Jonas to give him the go-ahead to speak he began to say “your right of course to say that Alpha Jonas’s full title is Grand Alpha, it’s a bit of a mouthful to say all the time so a few generations ago, I believe it was your great grandfather” Gregory looked enquiringly at his Alpha, who nodded so Gregory carried on “Yes, the great grandfather decreed that members of the Luna Shadow Pack, which you know carries the Grand Alpha gene, did not need to address him or Future Grand Alpha’s with the full title. They would simply be known to the pack as Alpha. Everyone else would use the full title as a mark of respect. It is widely known throughout our kind that those of us lucky enough to call the Luna Shadow Pack theirs were also an elite kind of werewolf and so our pack is not only revered but also sought after by other packs as enforcers, judges, and in some cases, those of us with a higher station within the pack are also used to dole out any punishment that is decided by the Grand Alpha. Does all that make sense?”. Genni was sitting there with her mouth hanging open and Gregory let out a small chuckle, Jonas gave a small warning growl to his Beta and Gregory’s face became stoic. Once again Genni lightly smacked Jonas on the arm and once again Genni giggled and Jonas pulled her to him once again. Jonas just loved to hear his mate laugh, it made his heart feel lighter when he saw a smile on her face. “Speaking of adjusting names, I think it’s time that your Luna gets to call you Greg and not Gregory, is that okay with you Greg”? Genni faced Greg with a huge smile on her face “Really, you wouldn’t mind? Greg bowed his head and told his luna that it would be an honour if she were to refer to him in such a relaxed manner. Jumping up now Greg told them he needed a few hours rest before tonight and after he was dismissed he left to go to his apartment next door. “We have a few hours before we have to get ready, what would you like to do little wolf”? Jonas started laughing when he saw instant desire in Genni’s eyes. “I thought you’d never ask” laughed Genni. As they got up there was another knock on the door, sighing to herself Genni went to see who was there and was pleasantly surprised to see Rosemary standing there. "Why on earth did you knock Mom" send Genni "This is your home there is no need for you to do that". Rosemary looked at her and then Jonas and then back at her and declared that it was absolutely right for her to knock as they were fated mates, that it only just met each other and she knew what that meant. Even Jonas blushed lightly at what his mother had said, laughing lightly Rosemary entered the apartment and gave Genni a swift hug walked over to her son to do the same and then sat on the sofa. “If you wouldn’t mind I would like to have a small chat with Genevieve, it’s only to go over a few things that she may need to do this evening as Luna. If I’m correct, you my darling girl, have been a little worried about it and not said anything”. Looking straight at Genni now she could see that she was right, realising this and quickly linking to his mother to thank her Jonas declared that he was off to have a shower by himself, he left his mother and his mate alone in the sitting room.
“How did you know? You’re right of course but how did you know, aren’t I the one that’s supposed to know everything” sighed Genni and Rosemary patted the seat next to her and asked her beloved daughter-in-law to sit down. “I don’t need to have your powers my darling to know that one of your first acts as Luna will be this evening at a mass Pack meeting and I know how nervous I was the first time I had to perform as Luna so I just thought I would pop along now and give you some support and encouragement”. Genni hug her lightly “thank you so much I didn’t want to bother Jonas with it as he has had so much on his mind and as Luna, I should know what to do, shouldn’t I”? “My darling, if it had not been for Phillip's mother, Jonas‘s grandmother, I would have been completely out of my element when I discovered that Philip was my fated mate and therefore I was to be Luna off his park. Just like you I discovered that Philip was the grand alpha and that would mean I would be the grand Luna, this does put added pressure on you but once you have chosen your beta and gamma they will be able to take certain things off your hands and allow you to focus on your specific Luna duties”. Patting Genni’s hand Rosemary continued.
“So then, to this evening”. Genni listened raptly while her mother-in-law told her what was likely to happen this evening “At the start of mass pack meeting, you and Jonas will, of course, be standing on the moonstone so that you will be elevated over the other members and Jonas will start by welcoming everyone to the clearing and briefly explain why he has called the meeting. After he has given his brief explanation it will be your duty to speak up and address your pack as their Luna, you will need to encourage them to listen and to offer them all support. You will need to let your pack members know that your door is open to any that seek reassurance and guidance. Apart from your specific Luna duties, this is the main part of being a Luna. The guidance and support that a Luna can give her pack is sometimes the difference between strength and weakness. We are werewolves, after all, we have a proud heritage, unfortunately, we can also be stubborn blockheaded creatures who don’t like change”. Genni laughed at this and told Rosemary that she had just described her brother in detail. Both women laughed at this and Rosemary said how excited she was to meet everyone but was especially excited for the dinner in which Genni’s family and Rosemary‘s family will get to sit together and become one family. Genni smiled with tears in her eyes at this, the thought that her family and the Urbanas joining together with Jonas‘s family to be one united family made her so emotional all she could do was hug the woman in front of her. Rocking her slightly back and forth Rosemary said all will be fine, “you are destined for this and I am sure that you will be the best Luna for this pack that has ever been. Now I’m going to leave and I suggest you maybe jump in the shower”. Rosemary looked at Genni who was blushing again. Genni told Rosemary she had a very good idea!
