Knight in Shinning Armor
Sylvia's POV
Soon, Vivienne showed up with the council members, all climbing the stage regally.
“Here today, we will execute this maid who had dared to hurt one of the Alpha's guards. Not only hurt! She killed him!” Vivienne roared, her face to the crowd.
“She's not among us, she's just a monster!” She added then turned her gaze back to me swiftly.
“Prepare for the execution” she roared.
Then someone climbed the stage, a wide smile on his face, a broad dagger in his hands.
No. Was that a dagger? Or an axe?
I didn't even know.
He swirled the weapon around, jumping on his feet as he swirled the weapon over his head again.
It was like a vampire who was offered human blood on a golden platter.
Imagine how he'd react…..so elated that he gets his meal. And it was the same for this man right here.
I faced Vivienne who was grinning from ear to ear. “This is unfair. Don't I get a chance to prove my innocence?”
She snorted and laughed. “What?”
Then she moved closer, whispering to my ear. “You're not innocent, Sylvia! I designed it for you to die and you have no options but to”
She moved away from me again, giving that deceitful smile to the crowd.
How I would have loved to fight back, how better it could have felt dying while defending myself but I couldn't.
I was down with chains, not able to lift a finger.
“Do it!” Vivienne ordered the executor who stood at my back.
I was scared, but I didn't close my eyes. My body just stiffened, my thoughts filled with Valen.
“Hiaaa!” He exclaimed and I could feel his sword lifted in the air, and then it came back down to cut my head off when I heard a horse grunts. Like a flash, someone's legs kicked the executor's sword from his hand, hand grabbing me firmly as I was pulled up from the ground.
I gasped. I turned to look and my eyes blinked at what I saw.
Valen.
He was holding me so close to his body, his eyes on me as I could feel his anger surging through him.
My eyes suddenly got wet with tears when I was supposed to be glad that I was safe.
His gaze darted from me to everyone around and they quickly bowed.
“Alpha!” They knelt. Even Vivienne wasn't spared.
I could see the way their face drained of color, could smell their fear, and feel their emotional states.
My gaze went to where Valen's horse was and Rodrigo was standing beside the horse.
That explained the reason why Valen was able to get here so quickly.
Rodrigo hadn't followed Valen on the trip, as I had seen him here yesterday after Valen had left. And to have been able to get Valen here in time, then he must have left to fetch him yesterday night after hearing or seeing what had happened.
“This execution isn't happening!” That was the only thing Valen said to his subjects before he cut the chains off me with his sword.
Vivienne raised her head and her breath hardened, her gaze threatening to rip the both of us apart.
I just stared at Valen like a princess would do to her knight in shining armor.
He had his hand still wrapped around my waist and he lifted me off the ground, carrying me in one swift move.
Then he was by his horse, throwing me onto it. He mounted the horse, his hand grabbing the rein as they pinned me to his middle safely.
Then he kicked the horse to run, and we left the place, leaving the pack members and the councils in awe.
The Alpha had publicly defended me, without caring about rules, etiquette or anything.
Well, Vivienne also didn't care about the rule when it came to me asking to prove my innocence.
“Rodrigo told you?” I asked and he hummed a yes.
I just nodded, the rest of the drive done in silence.
“He called me the moment it happened” he said and once again I nodded.
Soon, we were in the penthouse, Valen handing the horse over to a guard who took it with a bow.
He held my hand as we moved to my room, not his.
Maybe now he knows that he wouldn't want rumors to circulate about me visiting his room.
We got into my room and when we got in, our gazes lingered before I sniffled, breaking the silence.
“I thought…..I really thought I was going to die” I croaked.
“I thought something would happen to me” Tears stung my eyes.
“Hey, you're fine” he held my arms, caressing me all over.
“I thought I'd never see you again. I wouldn't lie, Valen, I was so scared”
He hugged me, his hands caressing my back. “You'd always get yourself into trouble, it's a part of you”
“And you'd always show up to save me,” I said.
“Yes. And that's why you should never think about not seeing me again. Never” he said and I nodded, my head pressing into his chest.
I broke the hug, my teary eyes looking into his face.
“Valen……I want you.” I wasn't holding back, no, I wasn't going to.
Not anymore.
“All of you,” I added.
He stared back, like he was contemplating on what to do with me.
“You aren't sure about this,” he whispered.
“I've never been so sure about a decision in my entire life” my lips slightly pressed into a thin line, my voice laced with urgency.
“I want you” I whispered and my hand trailed his chest for a second before I stopped.
He stared at me, forcing me to stare back, but I wasn't going to avert my gaze, or back down.
I know what I want.
He pulled my waist into himself, slamming his lips on mine as he kissed me fiercely.
I kissed back, my hand wrapping around his neck, tugging at his hair as I wanted to grab every inch of him if I could.
Gently, he pushed me to the bed, the kissing not stopping.
I never would have wanted it to stop.
I unbuttoned his shirt even before his hand touched my dress and yanked it off his body, getting the belt of his trouser off also wasn't a big deal.
He took my dress off too, and soon, the both of us were naked on the bed, impatient to fulfill our sinful desires.
This time, I wasn't the only one naked on the bed, we both were.
And we both wanted this.
