Secrets And Betrayals
Sylvia's POV
I opened my eyes to the sunlight which was just at its peak. A perfect weather maybe, for the sex we had just had.
Valen was no longer by my side, and I knew he was long gone.
I slept for how many hours? I checked and realized it hadn't been more than an hour.
I headed to the bathroom, taking a quick bath before I dressed up and moved out of the room.
I went in search of Valen, and also to know the current situation of my so-called murder case.
Valen didn't ask questions and I'm glad he believed I didn't do it. He had always believed in me.
I knew that he wouldn't be in his room, not in the middle of this chaos.
I went to the hall instead, and stood at the door, not wanting to disrupt the intense conversation.
“You can't decide those things behind my back!” Valen roared and I could feel how angry he was.
“Alpha! You can't stop this. The neighboring packs had gotten involved, we already informed them since last night” Vivienne said, her voice smug.
“What?” Valen croaked.
“Now everyone of them wants her killed, because they think she's not only a threat to our pack, but to other packs too” I peeped and could see Vivienne smirk.
That bitch!
“Vivienne, no! Okay?!” Valen roared, pointing a hand at her.
“I brought her here for a reason! I know what I'm doing, and you all don't have the right to interfere!” Valen said.
“I brought her here because she can break the pack's thousand year curse! She is of use to me, but you dare try to kill her?!” Valen roared.
I blinked, trying to process what I was hearing.
A curse? He bought me and brought me here to break a curse?
“Alpha, we can always find another way to break the curse!” Vivienne retorted.
Valen ran his hand through his hair. “Are you dumb?”
“She's the only one who can break this curse! I've always wanted her because only she can do this!” Valen added.
Nice.
I scoffed.
What a trophy you ended up becoming, Sylvia. You could break some curse, at least you're that useful…I told myself.
I stormed into the hall, making heads turn to face me. When Valen did, I expected to see remorse or surprise in his face, but not even a glint showed.
“So, you've only been using me?” I asked.
Those words had come from the man I had willingly given my body to hours ago. I let him use me.
“Only you can break that curse, Sylvia,” he repeated.
I gritted, wishing there were things to smash in that room at the moment.
My head spinned, adrenaline coursing through my veins.
“Shut it, Valen!” I yelled, tears streaming down my face.
Everyone in the room gasped at my audacity, but I didn't care.
Valen moved to me with a flash, holding my arm roughly.
“You won't address me like that, Sylvia!” He gritted and I scoffed.
I yanked his hands off mine and stepped backwards, shaking my head.
“I thought I knew you…..I thought I was important to you” I croaked. “Turns out I'm just a tool”
“Go to hell, everyone of you!” I cried, then stormed out of the hall using my back, my gaze still lingering on Valen.
“Alpha, we need to kill her” I heard one of the elders tell him and Valen had said nothing.
I was wrong about him.
I had to leave.
Not anymore; I can't stay here anymore.
I went back to my room, grabbing a backpack as I packed little things I believed I was going to need, then stormed out of the penthouse without looking back.
Where to go? I didn't know, but I knew I couldn't stay in the pack. Almost everyone wanted me dead.
Even the neighboring packs had been said to want me dead, all I could do was find shelter in the wilderness.
First, I need to plan. And till then, I should be able to hide for a night without getting caught.
When out of the pack, I headed to the nearest neighboring pack. Once I was there, I turned my phone off, cutting any means of communication.
I was dressed in a leather blue jacket, black trousers, and a face cap which I had just brought out of my bag.
I headed inside an inn. The inn buzzed with customers and I looked carefully at every side before I headed to the receptionist.
“I need a room. Just for a night” I said with my face kept down.
He gave the price and I paid in cash, collecting the key to the room.
“Room 35” he said. “That's the room at the end”
I knew he was keeping his face on me, but I didn't look, didn't act like I care.
“Thanks” I muttered, then was out of the reception.
In the room, I checked everywhere, making sure it was safe. And I really hoped no one would find me here until I was gone.
Then I settled down on the bed, heaving a sigh. I laid on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
I didn't want to think about him, but my thoughts were just filled with him.
The way he had kissed me on the bed earlier today, the feeling of him inside me. The whispered words before I fell asleep……everything kept coming back to me.
“Asshole!” That was all I muttered before I sat back up on the bed, finding a paper to make a map with.
I found one in the room, and planned my movements with it.
I was going to keep walking around. I won't matter how long it takes to take me far away, I just know that I want to go so far away that I won't be able to return to the penthouse.
I spent hours planning, spent the rest of the day taking meals and staring at a blank space.
Evening came, and I slept. Then morning came, and I woke up, just not to the normal life I would have loved to wake up too.
I woke up to the noise of soldiers searching the inn.
Valen's guards were already here.
