CHAPTER TWELVE
Chapter 12.
Alpha Nathan's POV.
I was stunned when Selena stood in front of me smiling with Petra standing beside her.
What has she come here to do?
Why did Petra allow her to enter my palace even when she was aware of everything that she did to me?
I composed myself as I didn't want her to think that I hadn't gotten over her yet.
"Good evening your Highness." Selena bowed her head and greeted me with a smile.
" Evening Selena. How have you been?" I asked, coldly.
"I am doing fine, your Highness. And how have you been? It's been a while." she asked as she stepped closer to me.
"As you can see, I am fine. So, what are you doing here? I think I have warned...." I was cut off by Petra who stepped in immediately.
"The food dinner is ready, don't we go and eat first then, you guys can now have a chat later," Petra said with a pleading gaze which I in return, glared at her.
"Very well then," I said as I strolled out of the throne room and headed to the dining area.
We ate in silence as Selena constantly gazed at me.
I retired to my room immediately as I couldn't stand Selena's presence.

I decided to freshen up before attending to my office work as I wasn't able to attend to work properly since Catherine's disappearance.
I stepped out of the bathroom and met Selena sitting on my bed with her legs crossed as she played with a strand of her, gazing at me seductively.
I hissed as I turned my cold gaze towards her. To say I was angry would be an understatement, I was furious.
"Who says you could come into my room without my permission!" I asked irritably as I couldn't understand why she would shamelessly show up in my room when she was aware that she was not welcome in my pack as I had made it forbidden for her.
" I Emm... I... Missed you, Nathan,"
" Alpha Nathan." I corrected, angrily.
"Alright, I have missed you, Alpha Nathan. I am here to apologize for what I did to you."
"You have the guts to come to my pack? As if that is not enough, you came into my room without my permission?! I snapped angrily as I was boiling with rage, " You are here to apologize for what exactly? Tell me, what are you here to apologize for?!"
"I want to apologize for... For... Betraying your love and trust. I still love you Nathan, I mean, Alpha Nathan."
" You still love who? Did you know what you did? I loved you, and I was ready to marry you and make you my Luna but what did you do? You choose to sleep with my best friend under my roof! On my fucking bed!!" I roar as the memory of her betrayal flashes through my head, making me furious.
" There is no justification for what I did, I am deeply sorry," she whispered with tears rolling down her cheek as she stepped closer to hold my arms.
I was disgusted by her action as I narrowed my eyes dangerously at the arms that she was holding and glared at her.
"Move away!" I snapped, startling her as she shivered at my cold glare, released my arms immediately, and stepped back.
"Get out of my room!!!" I growled, banging my hand on the table to release my anger and frustration.
"Please listen to me, I just want to...," I cut her off as I gripped her hand angrily, dragged her out of my room, and shut the door behind her.
I clenched my hands and gritted my teeth to calm myself down.
Did she think she could just come here to say sorry and we get together?
I sat down on my bed I huffed and puffed out air from my mouth as my thoughts went to how I met Selena.
Selena was my childhood friend, a princess from a small pack. We became friends after I saved her from a wolf hunter. We began seeing each other after which we fell in love.
I loved her deeply and I rejected every other girl because of her as I was ready to do anything to make her happy.
I asked for her hand in marriage after which we fixed a date for our wedding ritual.
Four days to the wedding, I was invited to attend the Alpha's meeting which will last for two days.
Immediately after the meeting, I decided to head back to my pack instead of sleeping over.
I got to the palace and went straight to my room as I couldn't wait to see Selena
As I swung the door open, I met the shock of my life. I saw Selena, making out with my best friend inside my room, on my bed!!! It hurt so much that I felt like I was struck with a bolt of lightning.
My heart weighed heavy in my chest as I confronted them and Selena had the guts to tell me that he was her true mate. Can you imagine that? She knew all this while and she didn't let me know.
I was so shattered that I almost got into depression.
I forbid her from entering my pack and now she thinks she can just come here after I tried to heal from the pain she inflicted on me and I will take her back? What a joke!
She made me lose interest in women as I only used them to satisfy my sexual desire, that was why I rejected Catherine immediately after I discovered she was my mate. I never realized that I had fallen in love with her until she disappeared.
"I am going to find her and bring her back to the palace and make her my mate," I promised myself with determination.

I was in my room when a guard informed me that the elders had requested to see me.
" What do they want this time?" I thought as I put on my royal garment and headed out to the throne room.
The council of elders stood up to greet me as soon as I stepped into the throne room.
I nodded my head in response and asked them to sit down.
"Your Highness, the mate bonding ceremony is in a few days and we are here to inform you that you should endeavor to choose your mate during the ceremony and present your Luna to the pack as the custom demands." One of the elders stood up and said as he avoided my gaze.
"I know it will come to this as I need to present my Luna to the pack but how can I present my Luna when my true mate is missing." I sighed, deeply.
The prime minister stood up and what he said made my heart skip a beat.
