Chapter 13
Alpha Nathan's POV
"You need to choose your mate as fast as possible because the Alpha from the other pack is planning to wage war against us to take over our pack as they see you as a weak Alpha who doesn't have a Luna. We will allow you to choose your mate in this mate bonding ceremony and if you fail, we will have no other option but to present a woman to you, that will be your mate and also our Luna." The prime minister made their plan known before taking his seat.
" What?! Who are those Alpha that will challenge me to war? Are they tired of living? Do they want to feel my wrath on them?" I roar out angrily as I gaze at them dangerously, making them tremble.
"And you?" I said, as I stood up and scanned them with my gaze and continued, " Did you all now see me as a weak Alpha who can not present his mate?" I yelled out as some of them jumped up in fear.
"No... No.. Your Highness. We would never dare think of that, You are a great Alpha who is feared by all. We just want to follow tradition and also not let any pack look down on us." The old one of the elders said with his voice trembling slightly.
I sighed Silently and thought about what the elders had said. Truly, the custom demands an Alpha should never stay long on the throne without a Luna.
I cleared my throat and they all turned their attention to me as they waited patiently for what I had to say.
" I will choose my Luna in the next mate bonding ceremony. If there is no other thing then, this meeting is adjourned." I revealed and paced out of the throne room as they all stood up and bowed their head respectively.

I was walking through the hallway thinking about what I was going to do because I couldn't marry a woman who was not my mate, even my wolf rejected the idea.
" If I don't want to marry someone that I don't like, I have to find Catherine as soon as possible." I thought to myself as I groaned in frustration.
I walked towards Catherine's room to see if I could get something that could lead me to where she might be as I strongly believed that she was still alive.
I swung the door open and stepped into the room. It was very small, dark, and cold with a small raffia straw mat at the side of the room, making me wonder if a person could sleep comfortably there.
I scanned the room with my gaze and saw a small bag in the corner of the room.
I paced closer to the bag and opened it, checking if I could see something. There was nothing much in the bag except a few clothes that looked like rags and a picture that caught my attention.
I picked up the pictures and admired them, "Catherine, where are you? I Am sorry I rejected you." I whispered to the picture as I smiled at my behavior. I mean, who could have thought that an almighty Alpha like me would be so interested in an ordinary Omega?
" Well, she is my mate anyways and I am going to find and accept her as my mate." I thought to myself.
A shadow that suddenly engulfed me jolted me out of my thoughts as I briskly hid the picture in my royal robe and spun around immediately to see who it was.
"What are you doing here," I asked as my gaze fell on Selena, who wore a bathrobe with water dripping from her hair, I guess she just had her bath as I could perceive the smell of soap from her body.
"I was just passing by when I heard a sound coming from this room, so I decided to check."
"You decided to check, as what? A guard on a night patrol?" I asked, mockingly.
"Emm.. Don't be too harsh. Anyways, I am happy that I see you in this room as it is dark and we can make out here." she said seductively as she took off her bathing robe leaving her with her underwear, and pacing towards me.
I looked at her with disgust as anger and hatred flowed through my mind, how can a woman be so shameless?
" Are you that shameless and cheap? How dare you try to seduce me??!!" I roared angrily as I gripped her neck and pinned her to the wall, " Are you so tired of life that you wish to die so badly?!" I asked, angrily, my eyes were turning red and she stared wide-eyed at me as my wolf threatened to take over.
"Your... Your... Highness, you are hur..ting..me!!" she stuttered as she struggled to free herself from my grip.
"I want you to go in there, pack your things, and leave my palace because the next time I see you near my pack or my palace again!! I will kill you with my bare hand!!" I roared, using my Alpha tone as I imposed fear on her, making her tremble at my command before tossing her to the ground.
She swiftly put on her bathrobe and hobbled out of the room, shivering like a drenched dog.
I groaned angrily and left the room to my chamber after I gave Catherine's picture to one of the guards to go and frame it for me so that I could paste it on the wall of my room.

Today is the mate bonding ceremony and everyone has already gathered. I was sitting down with my gaze scanning the crowd to see if I could see any girl I could choose since I couldn't find Catherine yet.
I was welcoming some of the Alpha that came to attend the ceremony from another pack when my eyes caught one of the Alpha's that just walked in with a lady.
"Welcome, Alpha Carlos," I greeted him.
He introduced the lady with him as his daughter.
The lady stepped closer with her gaze fixed on me.
"My name is Yvonne," She introduced herself with a smile.
"It is nice to meet you, Yvonne."
" I was told that you are in search of a Luna? So, what do you think about me?" she asked, boldly.
"You are beautiful but I can't choose you because my heart belongs to another," I said, sincerely.
"Why don't you give it a try, I might not be your true mate but I am very sure you will learn to love me in future," she suggested.
"Well, she might be right. maybe I should accept and present her to the elder pending when I will find Catherine." I thought.
Suddenly, I felt uneasy, my eyes glowed red as my wolf howled in rejection of my plan and threatened to come out.
